Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson (shoulder) is expected to miss several days of practice. He injured his left shoulder while making a diving catch Friday, July 29.
Fantasy Tip: Patterson may be worthy of consideration as a late-round flier in deeper fantasy leagues but he's unlikely to make much of an impact if the three receivers ahead of him on Minnesota's depth chart remain healthy.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (hamstring) was limited in practice Saturday, July 30, due to a hamstring injury. "Working out, like the week before (camp), he pulled the hammy a little bit," Zimmer said. "He can do things, he just can't turn it all the way loose. So we're just being careful with him."
Fantasy Tip: The ailment shouldn't change much, and Peterson is usually limited before the season anyway. He's still a midrange RB1 in fantasy.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) is expected to miss at least two months after sustaining an ankle injury in a freak accident earlier this month. Heinicke and a friend realized they were locked out of his friend's apartment after returning from a late-night movie. In an attempt to break open the door, Heinicke kicked through a glass pane and severed a tendon in his left ankle. He recently underwent surgery and reported to camp Thursday, July 28, with a cast on his left leg.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (undisclosed) was held out of selected team drills Friday, July 29, because he is recovering from an undisclosed offseason injury, according to head coach Mike Zimmer. However, he performed the conditioning test and participated in running light sprints from sideline to sideline before eventually receiving a handful of carries near the end of team drills.
Fantasy Tip: Since Peterson received limited action in team drills Friday, his injury should not be considered serious. The 31-year-old veteran makes a somewhat risky fantasy option because the Vikings are moving towards a spread offense and he has never been considered a great receiver. That being said, he should still be viewed as a midrange RB1 in all seasonal leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson (arm) suffered an apparent injury to his left shoulder or collarbone during practice Friday, July 29. He sustained the injury after making a diving catch and was forced to leave early. Head coach Mike Zimmer does not believe the problem is serious.
Fantasy Tip: Patterson has not performed up to his potential through his first two NFL seasons but may still be worth considering as a late-round flier in deeper fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: It's not terribly plausible that Foles would beat out Teddy Bridgewater even if he does join the Vikings. Foles' fantasy value remains next to nonexistent and he can keep being avoided in all formats.

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) might be of interest to the Minnesota Vikings, one of three teams believed to be in on the quarterback, according to a source. The Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys are also believed to be interested.
Fantasy Tip: Foles would serve as the backup to Teddy Bridgewater, so unless disaster struck in Minnesota Foles would be the No. 2 and have zero fantasy appeal.

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is likely in his final year with the Vikings as his salary hikes to $18 million in 2017, and QB Teddy Bridgewater is due for a large salary increase, according to beat writer Charley Walters.
Fantasy Tip: Peterson, 31, carries some risk this season because the offense is shifting to more shotgun sets, which Peterson struggled with last year. Jerick McKinnon figures to handle a lot of third downs. The upside for Peterson is lacking this year, but he remains a midrange RB1.
