Steelers | Troy Polamalu still undecided

Thu, 05 Mar 2015 10:31:09 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers SS Troy Polamalu remains undecided on his future, according to his agent, Marvin Demoff. "Troy is still determining whether he wants to retire or try and play in 2015," Demoff said. "We will make a decision fairly soon, but (it is) not imminent." The Steelers reportedly would prefer it if Polamalu retired so that they won't be forced to release him. Polamalu has an $8.25 million salary cap number in 2015 that the Steelers would rather not pay. The team would save $6 million off the cap if they release him. The Steelers could fight to regain some of his signing bonus of $6.75 million.

Steelers | Le'Veon Bell to miss four games?

Mon, 02 Mar 2015 13:23:14 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell could be suspended up to four games, according to the NFL's new substance-abuse policy. A two-game suspension is standard for a DUI resulting from the use of alcohol. However, Bell's DUI came from marijuana use, so he could be suspended for a longer period of time.

Fantasy Tip: Missing four games would really put a dent in Bell's fantasy value, seeing as that's a fourth of the regular season. Bell is still expected to be suspended for at least two games. If he only misses two games, he could still easily be considered an RB1, especially in point-per-reception leagues.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger to get big contract?

Mon, 16 Feb 2015 12:37:22 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger could earn around $20 million per year once his new contract is finalized, according to former NFL general manager Mark Dominik. This would make Roethlisberger one of the top-five highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger is coming off a career year, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise if/when he receives a big, new contract. With a young and talented supporting cast including players like Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell and Markus Wheaton, Roethlisberger should be considered a QB1 heading into 2015.

Steelers | Not concerned with OLB position

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 10:42:09 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers LB Jarvis Jones is currently the only outside linebacker with any NFL experience, but general manager Kevin Colbert is confident the team will be fine at the outside linebacker position once August rolls around. This would imply that the Steelers will either be drafting an outside linebacker or signing someone in free agency.
