Titans | Dorial Green-Beckham optimistic

Fri, 24 Jun 2016 13:20:29 -0700

Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham said he is happy with how he performed during offseason workouts and expects to be more productive in 2016 because he is more comfortable.

Fantasy Tip: Green-Beckham lost some snaps with the first-team offense during offseason workouts but should have a solid role in the passing game. He could be a middle- to late-round option in most leagues depending on his role.

Titans | Antonio Andrews stepping up

Thu, 23 Jun 2016 20:53:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has responded well to the added competition of RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry, head coach Mike Mularkey said.

Fantasy Tip: With Murray and Henry now in town, Andrews is going to have to fight for a roster spot, and he has little chance of making a fantasy impact.

Titans | DeMarco Murray in better situation

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 16:32:36 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray believes Tennessee's offensive system is a better fit for him than the Philadelphia Eagles' offense. "It's strictly downhill and that's what I've been accustomed to my entire life," Murray said. "Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn't work out, but I'm very excited about this upcoming season."

Fantasy Tip: Murray will be the primary running back for the Titans, but Derrick Henry should also get a good chunk of playing time behind him, not to mention the other young bucks in the backfield. Murray is still a viable RB2 option, while Henry is more of a low-end RB3 to high-end RB4 in his rookie year.

Titans | Quinton Spain leading competition

Fri, 17 Jun 2016 09:30:56 -0700

Tennessee Titans OG Quinton Spain finished minicamp at the top in the competition for the left guard spot. He's down to 328 pounds after arriving for the offseason at 342 pounds. The Titans would like to get him down to 325 pounds when he returns for training camp.

Titans | Tajae Sharpe to open camp as starter?

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 11:08:42 -0700

Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe has impressed head coach Mike Mularkey, and Sharpe is expected to begin training camp as a starting wide receiver.

Fantasy Tip: Sharpe is one of the fastest risers from this season's rookie class, but expectations should remain in check. He will be competing with Delanie Walker, Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas, Richard Matthews and Dorial Green-Beckham for vertical targets, and Tennessee invested heavily in their running game during the offseason. Still, while Sharpe is nothing more than a late-round flier for seasonal leagues, his value is rising in keeper/dynasty setups.

Titans | Dorial Green-Beckham still a project

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 10:47:53 -0700

Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham remains somewhat of a project at the NFL level after he was thrown out of Missouri in college and went to Oklahoma but didn't play in 2014. Wide receivers coach Bob Bratkowski thinks the time off hurt Green-Beckham's game and caused him to develop at a slower pace. Green-Beckham was picked by the former Titans regime under general manager Ruston Webster, and new general manager Jon Robinson has said before that he's not particularly interested in projects. For now, Bratkowski said things are trending in the right direction for Green-Beckham.

Fantasy Tip: Green-Beckham's size (6-5, 237 pounds) is a big advantage in the NFL, he just needs to put it all together to take his game to the next level. As a rookie he caught only 32 passes for 549 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games. It's not a good sign that he's already been passed on the depth chart by Tajae Sharpe. However, Tennessee's offense should take a step forward in 2016, and DGB could reap the benefits. He's a risky midround selection, but he has WR2 upside.

Titans | Tajae Sharpe passes Green-Beckham

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 23:39:07 -0700

Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe has passed WR Dorial Green-Beckham and WR Justin Hunter on the depth chart as Sharpe worked with the first-team in practice Tuesday, June 14.

Fantasy Tip: Sharpe is in the lead for the third receiver spot, but the designation speaks more to the disappointment that DGB has been. Sharpe is a WR5 flyer in fantasy and someone to keep an eye on in camp. Green-Beckham remains a high-risk, high-reward target on draft day.

Titans | Dexter McCluster will have opportunities

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 09:54:02 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Dexter McCluster thinks he'll have plenty of opportunities to make noise in the backfield even with RBs DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry ahead of him. "I think it will open up a lot more opportunities for me," said the 5-8, 170-pound McCluster. "When you have some big guys that are going to run downhill, that can cause more confusion to a lot of people. I hope (defenses) forget all about me and I can get open." McCluster has a versatile skill set and can also help on special teams returning punts.

Fantasy Tip: McCluster had 55 attempts for 247 yards and a touchdown for the Titans in 11 games last year, and he also added 31 catches for 260 yards and a TD. He probably won't see enough touches to be relevant in most traditional leagues, but he could be worth a flier as bench depth in PPR formats.

Titans | Delanie Walker tired of losing

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 18:37:18 -0700

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker said the locker room is tired of losing, and the team is buying into head coach Mike Mularkey's system and starting to understand his offense.

Fantasy Tip: Walker is among the intriguing fantasy options in Tennessee offense, and he should be a reliable TE1 option in 2016.

Titans | Marcus Mariota becoming a leader

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 13:30:32 -0700

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota appears to have a better grasp of the offense and has been a true leader during offseason workouts, according to DT Jurrell Casey.

Fantasy Tip: Mariota has received praise from various people this offseason and should post better numbers in 2016 since the offense has improved around him. Mariota should be a decent No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues and probably will be more valuable in keeper leagues.

Titans | Tennessee may use hot hand at RB

Fri, 10 Jun 2016 12:23:14 -0700

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said the amount of carries RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry receive each game may be determined by how they are playing that game. "I believe in just doing whatever we have to do, whatever is necessary to win the game," Robiskie said. "Obviously we'll have it situated going into the game, and figuring, 'Hey, we want to go this way or go that way.' If we get to going in the game and some guy gets the hot hand and that's what it takes to win the game then that is what we are going to do."

Fantasy Tip: Murray likely will receive most of the carries this season, but Henry should also see a fair amount of work. Murray should be a weekly starting option in most leagues in 2016 and likely will be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts. Henry probably will be a late-round option in most leagues and could be used against favorable matchups.

Titans | Derrick Henry impressing with hands

Thu, 09 Jun 2016 23:55:11 -0700

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has impressed the team with his hands as a receiver, which head coach Mike Mularkey said makes Henry even more dangerous.

Fantasy Tip: That's nice and all, but unless something happens to DeMarco Murray, Henry shouldn't be a big factor except in goal line packages. Henry is an RB4 in single-year leagues.

Titans | Coordinator impressed with Marcus Mariota

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 15:11:50 -0700

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said he has been impressed with what he has seen from QB Marcus Mariota on tape and during practice. Robiskie said Mariota has done a good job learning the offense that the coaching staff is installing.

Fantasy Tip: Mariota played well in his rookie season and finished the year with 2,818 passing yards and 19 touchdown passes. He also rushed for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Mariota should improve in his second year and will have plenty of weapons to work with on offense. He should be considered a solid No. 2 quarterback in most drafts but likely will be more valuable in keeper leagues.

Titans | Kendall Wright to stay on script

Tue, 07 Jun 2016 14:54:31 -0700

Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright will not be allowed to freelance during plays like he may have been allowed to do in the past, according to offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie. Robiskie said he will expect Wright to be where he needs to be during every play. The offensive coordinator said Wright has performed well during offseason workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Wright was limited to 10 games in 2015 and recorded 408 yards and three touchdowns during that span. He should see a decent amount of targets in 2016 but will not be the top target in the passing game. He should be considered a late-round option in deeper leagues.
