Bob Pockrass, of SceneDaily.com, reports NASCAR penalized Jay Robinson Racing driver Kenny Wallace 100 points and the team 100 owners points after the safety foam in the fuel cell did not meet the minimum specified height after the NASCAR Nationwide Series race last weekend. Crew chief Chris Rice was also fined $10,000 as well as $1,000 for a rear coil spring that exceeded the maximum specified height. Jay Robinson Racing will not appeal. Rice was put on probation for the remainder of the year.

SceneDaily.com reports Sheltra Motorsports announced Tuesday, Oct. 28, that they will join forces with Jay Robinson Racing to attempt to make the field in the final two races of the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series. Patrick Sheltra will race for the team. Sheltra Motorsports will compete in seven Nationwide events in 2009.

Jay Robinson Racing officials announced Thursday, Feb. 7, that driver Robert Richardson Jr. will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Camping World 300 season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. The sponsor for Richardson and the No. 4 car will be JVC for a five-race deal. JVC will be an associate sponsor in the 30 other races also. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
