Fantasy Tip: Saltalamacchia may have better fantasy value seeking a starting job elsewhere, but history suggests he is a catcher who is best served as part of a platoon. If that is the case, Saltalamacchia's fantasy value drops significantly.

Fantasy Tip: O'Brien is one of Arizona's top young talents, and he had four hits (one home run) in 10 at-bats to end the season in his major league debut. He hit .284 (139-for-490) with 26 long balls and 107 RBI at Class AAA Reno. O'Brien played strictly left field with Arizona after being called up, but he's expected to remain as a catcher, which is most useful for his fantasy value next year. He could eventually gain eligibility in the outfield or at first base. O'Brien will be a nice target in two-catcher or NL-only leagues to start.

Fantasy Tip: Pollock broke out for the D-backs this year with a .315 average (192-for-609) with 20 home runs, 76 RBI, 111 runs scored and 39 stolen bases. As a five-category contributor, he deserves consideration in the early rounds of fantasy drafts next year.

Arizona Diamondbacks C Welington Castillo is not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Sunday, Oct. 4. C Jarrod Saltalamacchia will start at catcher and is batting fifth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Castillo ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) played well after joining Arizona and should have fantasy value next season. Saltalamacchia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is hitting .224 this season and is not the best option for owners.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 06:21:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It was Goldschmidt's ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) 32nd home run of the season and his sixth since Tuesday, Sept. 1. For the year, the first baseman owns a .997 OPS with 101 runs and 108 RBI, and he remains a top-tier bat in all fantasy formats. He'll again be one of the top picks in drafts next spring.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 16:04:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: O'Brien ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is 3-for-5 (.600) with a home run in his brief career and is absolutely worth the flyer against Collin McHugh on FantasyScore.
Fri, 02 Oct 2015 16:30:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has had limited at-bats this year and has only two home runs against southpaws in 2015. Ignore him in daily formats against one of the best lefties in the American League this year.
Fri, 02 Oct 2015 15:17:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It appears Peralta's ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) season is over, and it isn't out of the question to grab a healthy replacement from the waiver wire immediately. It is worth checking back for an official word, if you have the fortune of outfield bench depth on your seasonal roster, though.
Fri, 02 Oct 2015 14:48:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Inciarte ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) doesn't offer a lot of pop, but he scored 73 runs, stole 21 bases and posted a .303 batting average through 132 games this season. He might grab another start or two this year, but he is a risky own in year-long leagues. Continue to check back for updates. Yasmany Tomas ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has been seeing starts in place of Inciarte, but Tomas is a fantasy afterthought after posting a .553 through 158 plate appearances in the second half.

Arizona Diamondbacks OFs David Peralta and Ender Inciarte (shin) are not in the starting lineup Friday, Oct. 2. OFs Yasmany Tomas and Socrates Brito draw into the lineup against Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel Friday.
Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,500, 19.0% of cap) is chasing the Cy Young award, and Houston is battling for a playoff berth, so there isn't a lot to like about Tomas ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) or Brito ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) at FantasyScore Friday. At best, they check out as contrarian fliers with Brito being more attractive due to his contest-low cap hit.

Arizona Diamondbacks RP Brad Ziegler is expected to return to the team Friday, Oct. 2, after the birth of his daughter. He will be available for the series to close out the year against the Houston Astros.
Fantasy Tip: Continue running Ziegler out there through the weekend. He's been very successful since taking over the role of Arizona's ninth-inning closer. Expect Daniel Hudson to pitch the ninth if a save situation arises Thursday night.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Ender Inciarte (shin) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. OF Yasmany Tomas draws into the lineup and is batting seventh against Colorado Rockies SP David Hale Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Tomas ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has skidded through the second half with a .213/.234/.333 slash line, which ultimately limited his playing time. FantasyScore players should view him as a high-risk, high-reward option Thursday because it is a plus-matchup against Hale ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) who has allowed a .304/.339/.525 slash line to right-handed hitters this season. Check back for updates on Inciarte's ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) status.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 16:09:36 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks C Jarrod Saltalamacchia is starting behind the plate and batting sixth against Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis Wednesday, Sept. 30. C Welington Castillo is not in the starting lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Saltalamacchia ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) owns a .302/.375/.721 slash line with five home runs and 11 RBI through 48 plate appearances in September. He is in fine form, and FantasyScore players should view him as a viable option for contests Wednesday. With Castillo ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) sporting a .164/.190/.295 line this month, Salty may see more playing time to finish the season.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 15:29:52 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks OF Ender Inciarte (shin) was a late scratch from the starting lineup with a right shin contusion Wednesday, Sept. 30. OF Socrates Brito is starting in right field and leading off against Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Inciarte ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday. Check back for an update on the severity of his injury, as he is having a great second half and offers help in batting average, runs and stolen bases. Brito ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has just 13 plate appearances in his career, so he is nothing more than a flier at FantasyScore Wednesday.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 01:00:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gosselin ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) can play three different positions, so he could go into 2016 as a versatile bench threat for the Diamondbacks. He has a .429 average in the last week, so he could be a way to save cap space should Gosselin earn a start.
