Arizona Diamondbacks news, rumors and injuries

Fantasy Tip: Collmenter was recently bumped to the bullpen from the rotation, and with Patrick Corbin returning from injury it sounds like a one-time deal for Collmenter. Still, if he shows well in this outing he could be next in line if a spot opens up.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez is a backup, but could see an occasional start with Tuffy Gosewisch done for the season and Gerald Laird out indefinitely. FantasyScore players could find Hernandez to be a low-priced value when he starts.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in his last three starts, and he has pitched well with C Welington Castillo behind the plate. De La Rosa is 6-3 on the year with a 4.69 ERA and has allowed 14 runs in 10 innings in both of his starts against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who he faces Tuesday, June 30. He allowed nine runs and 10 hits in his last start against the Dodgers June 8.
Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) is striking out a healthy 8.2 hitters per nine innings this year and can be a profitable pitcher play in the right matchups on FantasyScore. However, the risk outweighs the reward against the Dodgers tonight in a hitter-friendly ballpark. The Dodgers also lead the National League in home runs.

Fantasy Tip: Webster ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) had an unsightly 7.11 ERA in four starts for the Snakes this year. You can now drop him in all formats. It's unclear who will enter the rotation in his place, but Patrick Corbin (elbow) is expected to return from the DL next week to start against the Texas Rangers. Corbin is worth adding in all formats if he's available.

Fantasy Tip: Bradley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) may not be much longer for the roster based on how he has responded to rehab, but keep an eye on how things go before you decide to pull out the plug.
Mon, 29 Jun 2015 23:12:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Goldschmidt ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) remains one of the Diamondbacks' potent offensive weapons. At .349-20-62, Goldschmidt is a must-start in FantasyScore leagues thanks to that torrid first half.
Mon, 29 Jun 2015 15:20:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Corbin ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is yet another returnee from Tommy John surgery. He was 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 7.7 K/9 in 32 starts for Arizona back in 2013. He can definitely be a welcomed addition to any fantasy pitching staff. Grab him now if he's available in your league.
Mon, 29 Jun 2015 13:21:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Goldy ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) should be in daily consideration for a lineup spot on FantasyScore. That rings true tonight against Dodgers starter Mike Bolsinger in Arizona.
Sun, 28 Jun 2015 13:02:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pollock ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) appears to be getting a normal day off, so just plan accordingly. Pennington ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .429 (3-for-7) in the last week and makes a decent FantasyScore alternative.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson allowed 10 hits and seven runs over 5 1/3 innings Saturday, June 27, against the San Diego Padres. Hellickson is now 1-2, with a 7.55 ERA and 31 hits allowed over 22 2/3 innings from four starts against the Padres this season.
Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) still managed eight strikeouts on the night but it was a poor showing after he allowed a total of four runs across his previous two starts. Hellickson will carry some risk when he faces the Colorado Rockies Thursday, July 2, in Arizona.
Sun, 28 Jun 2015 05:24:13 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks SP Patrick Corbin (elbow) allowed four hits and two runs over six innings in his third rehab start Saturday, June 27, for Class AA Mobile. Corbin is expected to make one more rehab start before being called up to the majors.
Fantasy Tip: Corbin's strikeout rate has been down thus far into his comeback from Tommy John surgery, but he is only walking 2.76 batters per nine innings. Corbin should be added in any mixed league of at least 12 teams.

Fantasy Tip: It's looking increasingly likely that Bradley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) may not pitch again this season. Stay tuned for Andrews' tests. Be prepared to cut him loose wherever you are stashing him. Allen Webster ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) could stick around in the rotation longer than expected. He's struggled so far for the D-backs and should be left alone on FantasyScore.
Thu, 25 Jun 2015 10:57:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The move down the order is likely because Peralta ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is facing a left-handed pitcher. Peralta has a .167/.219/.233 slash line against southpaws in 30 at-bats this year. Even at Coors Field today, Peralta is a weak FantasyScore option.
Thu, 25 Jun 2015 10:51:57 -0700
Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies left-handed SP Jorge De La Rosa Thursday, June 25. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at the hot corner and hitting fifth.
Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is a very mediocre FantasyScore option today, but he is 6-for-20 (.300) with a double, triple and two RBI against De La Rosa in his career. The game is also in hitter-friendly Coors Field, giving you another reason to at least consider Hill as a deep sleeper value play.

Fantasy Tip: It's an ominous sign for the young D-backs pitcher and his owners. Bradley ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) should be left to the waiver wire in shallow mixed leagues, but continue stashing him in deep mixed and NL-only leagues while we wait for the news on his shoulder.
