Miami Marlins OF Michael Morse could be on his way to the Atlanta Braves as part of a three-way trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to sources. The Braves would be parting with SP Alex Wood and RP Jim Johnson, while they also would receive a compensation pick.
Fantasy Tip: Morse ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has done next to nothing this season in Miami, hitting a paltry .214 in 159 at-bats with four doubles, four homer and 12 RBIs while striking out 54 times. Perhaps a change of scenery would do him some good, but FantasyScore players should bother with him right now.

Fantasy Tip: Banuelos (($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has flashed nice upside in over his five appearances -- four starts -- this season. He is a stash candidate in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, but seasonal owners shouldn't bank on any fantasy production from him in 2015.

Atlanta Braves 3B Chris Johnson is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday, July 29. 2B Daniel Castro is starting at third base and batting ninth against Orioles SP Chris Tillman Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has only started one of the past four games, and he could be on the outside of playing time looking in going forward, especially if the Braves decide to take a long look at what they've got in the their stable. FantasyScore players should view Castro ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has gone 5-for-17 over six games in the majors this season with three runs, two home runs and two RBI. His price and spot in the lineup makes him worthy of considering as a low-priced flier for FantasyScore contests Wednesday. NL-only players looking for a boost should snap him up quickly, too. There could be more than just fleeting value from the minor league veteran.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) continues to struggle on the road. He is 1-5 with a 7.24 ERA in 11 road starts and 5-1 with 2.37 ERA in 10 home outings. The opposition is hitting over .300 against him on the road, and just .201 at home. In other words, only pay him mind in FantasyScore when he is at Turner Field.

Fantasy Tip: Banuelos ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has pitched in five games for the Braves this season but could sit out because of his elbow injury. Owners should avoid Banuelos until more is known about his status.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:33:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is a mediocre third base play on FantasyScore, although he can help with salary cap relief for the needy. Johnson doesn't have much power (just one homer this year), but hitting at Camden Yards could help tonight.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 13:34:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gomes ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has platooned with Eury Perez ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) in left field, but he has a .181 average against right-handed pitchers. Stay away from this if at all possible, as Perez (.264 in July) is the stronger option.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 11:39:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Folty has a 5.27 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 52 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings over nine starts for the Braves this season. His stay in the Atlanta rotation could be short, depending on how Banuelos heals. Folty has plenty of strikeout upside, but a matchup against the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow is very risky for FantasyScore users.

Fantasy Tip: With Banuelos ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) sidelined for at least two weeks, a spot will open up in Atlanta's rotation. However, it's unclear who will fill it, and the Braves may use a spot starter until Banuelos is able to return. Stay tuned.

Atlanta Braves OF Nick Markakis returned to Baltimore Monday, July 27, the play he spent his first nine years in the majors. He had a pair of hits in five at-bats, and was saluted by the team with a video montage while the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
Fantasy Tip: Markakis ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has hit safely in six of the past seven, posting multi-hit efforts in three of the outings. He is a decent low-end FantasyScore option, just don't expect a lot in the way of power.

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman went hitless in five at-bats with two strikeouts Monday, July 27, against the Baltimore Orioles. It was his first time batting third since returning from the 15-day disabled list over the weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he knocks off the rust and starts to hit with a little consistency.

Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski, OF Jonny Gomes and RP Jim Johnson are all available in trades at the deadline this week. The Atlanta Braves are in listening mode, and all three of these players are on cheap one-year deals.
Fantasy Tip: While Pierzynski ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) and Johnson currently have prominent roles with the Braves and would lose considerable fantasy value in any trades, Gomes ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is unlikely to see his already weak value change much in a trade. Keep Arodys Vizcaino's name in your back pocket if you are searching for saves this week, as he could be in line to take the closer's role if Johnson leaves town.

Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski will serve as the designated hitter against Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman Monday, July 27, and is batting fourth in the lineup. C Ryan Lavarnway will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Pierzynski ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) remains in the lineup even though he receives a day off from the field. He is hitting .345 this month and is a solid option for owners on FantasyScore. Lavarnway ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has played well since joining the Braves, but owners should be able to find better options to use.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 12:55:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been struggling at the plate this month and could be helped by moving lower in the starting lineup. He is hitting .176 this month and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.
