Fantasy Tip: Lavarnway ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) isn't much of an option against John Lackey on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Teheran ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) was inconsistent most of the year, but he posted a 1.62 ERA over his final six starts. At just 24 years old, he still has plenty of time to put it all together, and he is a nice breakout candidate for 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Weber ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) tossed his third quality start of the season but a lack of offense from Atlanta prevented him from getting his first major league win. The 10 strikeouts were one more than Weber had racked up in his previous four outings combined.

Fantasy Tip: The team may decide to shut Bethancourt ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) down for the remainder of the regular season, so he can be dropped in all fantasy formats.

Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. C Christian Bethancourt is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Strasburg ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has limited opponents to a .517 OPS over his past 13 starts, which makes Bethancourt ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) an extremely risky start at FantasyScore Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Strasburg ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) has held opponents to a .173/.208/.309 slash line over his past 13 starts, so Maybin ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) checks out as nothing more than a contrarian flier at FantasyScore Thursday.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 19:48:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Perez ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) went 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA through six September starts and finished the regular season with four quality starts in his final five outings. Fantasy owners in redraft leagues can drop him now.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 15:14:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has only started two games over the past week due to nagging injuries, and he might also be being squeezed out of playing time in favor of Michael Bourn ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) a touch. Regardless, fantasy owners, outside of cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, have no reason to roster either outfield, and FantasyScore players should view both as desperation fliers.

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (wrist) will be available to pinch hit but may not start another game this season. He's dealing with a small bone spur in his wrist, but it's not expected to require surgery. Freeman wants to avoid surgery because it'd cause him to miss all or most of his offseason recovering.
Fantasy Tip: That effectively ends Freeman's ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) usefulness to FantasyScore gamers for the rest of the year. Nick Swisher ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is starting at first base tonight but has a tough matchup in Washington Nationals starter Jordan Zimmermann.

Fantasy Tip: Olivera ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.

Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman (wrist) had his wrist examined Monday, Sept. 28, and was cleared to keep playing for the rest of the season. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said the team is treating him as day-to-day, and Gonzalez plans to play Freeman for four of the final six games to end the year. Freeman is expected to be rested Thursday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 4, but it could change if the wrist starts to ache. He has left a few games early, but Freeman is 9-for-26 (.346) with three doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI in the last nine games heading into Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Fantasy Tip: It's all a matter of pain tolerance for Freeman ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) to close out the year. It's a risk on FantasyScore, but one potentially worth taking based on how he's swung the bat in the last week or so, depending on the matchup.
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 14:19:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is hitless in 10 at-bats against Roark, hence the decision to give him a night off. Castro ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has a .222 mark against Roark, so he carries little FantasyScore value.
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 14:15:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Maybin ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) appears to be getting a normal night off so the Braves can try different lineups. Bourn ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitting .467 in the last week, so if you're looking to save some cap space he may make a solid addition.
Tue, 29 Sep 2015 05:04:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players cannot start Wisler ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) with confidence Tuesday, and he should be viewed as nothing more than a desperation start in NL-only and cavernous mixed seasonal leagues, too. He has solid pedigree and upside for 2016, but at this stage of his career, he is clearly still fine-tuning his craft.
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 12:34:44 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Freeman ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has approximately the same numbers (.280-18-66) despite missing some time this season. He is a strong FantasyScore option and a strong 1B for keeper lists in 2016.
