Atlanta Braves 1B Freddie Freeman is hitting .351 with 17 extra-base hits (three triples, five home runs), a .425 on-base percentage and .660 slugging percentage in June. He has hit .443 (27-for-61) with 13 extra-base hits (two triples, four homers), a .493 on-base percentage and .820 slugging percentage in his last 15 games.
Fantasy Tip: After a slow start to the year, Freeman has really picked things up and has really been the lone offensive bright spot for the Braves all year. He's slashing .285/.368/.500 with 13 home runs and 28 RBI. The RBI totals are disappointing and won't pick up anytime soon with a weak lineup around Freeman. Other than that, though, Freeman has proved to be a fine starting first base candidate in all leagues.

Atlanta Braves RP Arodys Vizcaino allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in a tied game against the Cleveland Indians Tuesday, June 28, and it was his third loss in his last 12 outings, and he's allowed 10 walks in 9 2/3 innings in that span. He had a 1.49 ERA and a .204 opponent's average in his first 56 outings from his return in early July last year to My 29, converting 15 of his 17 save chances and striking out 67 with 20 walks in 54 1/3 innings. However, in 15 appearances since then, he's 0-3 with a 3.55 ERA with three saves in four chances and 16 strikeouts to 10 walks in 12 2/3 innings.
Fantasy Tip: Vizcaino's ERA still sits at a respectable 2.16 on the year, but his 1.32 WHIP and 4.6 walks per nine innings is unsettling to his fantasy owners. There doesn't appear to be any danger of Vizcaino being bumped from the ninth-inning role, but he's hurting his owners more than he helps right now, and the Braves aren't giving him many save chances.

Fantasy Tip: Foltynewicz might be back in early July, but it's uncertain if he'll be back in the rotation, long relief, etc. With the team's injury issues in the starting rotation, he is likely to be slotted back in, but he remains nothing more than an option in the deepest of NL-only fantasy formats.

Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while posting a career-high nine strikeouts in a no-decision Tuesday, June 28, against the Cleveland Indians. He threw 67 of his 98 pitches for strikes in a quality start.
Fantasy Tip: Wisler has been sharp over his past three outings, all quality starts. He also has nine quality starts over his past 11 outings dating back to April 26. Run support is always a problem, but he is a decent NL-only play in deeper leagues and a DFS bargain when the matchup is favorable.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson is hitting .316 (12-for-38) with four runs scored, two homers and four RBIs during his nine-game run. He is still only worth a look in deeper NL-only fantasy leagues and as a salary saver in DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: De La Cruz posted a 4.68 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 57 2/3 innings for Class AAA Gwinnett, so don't look to him as a savior off the waiver wire in NL-only fantasy leagues or DFS.

Fantasy Tip: Davis is having a rebound fantasy season because of his added playing time and returned 36 runs, seven home runs, 28 RBI and 21 stolen bases with a .263/.328/.409. The speed alone makes him a viable option in all fantasy leagues. Santana receives a slight boost in daily contests Tuesday, but otherwise, there isn't a significant fantasy impact to Santana leading off. He should be viewed as a low-end starter at first base in the majority of formats.

Fantasy Tip: Gant has looked the part of a viable starting pitcher in cavernous mixed and NL-only formats with a 3.38 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP and a 8.2 K/9 through his three outings. However, he isn't a must-stash hurler given his small track record. Stay tuned for who will replace him in the rotation.

Fantasy Tip: Bonifacio has been a fantasy non-factor since his promotion back to the big leagues, but he owns plus-speed, which makes him an intriguing asset in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues. Against Kluber Tuesday, though, Bonifacio is a desperation fantasy option in all setups.

Atlanta Braves SP Bud Norris is drawing interest from other teams after he allowed four hits and struck out eight in seven innings against the New York Mets. Norris is 2-1 with a 2.15 ERA in his last five starts.
Fantasy Tip: The trade deadline is quickly approaching at the end of July, and the Braves will assuredly be sellers. Norris has been great of late and has a 4.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 7.7 K/9 on the season in 22 outings (10 starts). His fantasy value is limited to matchup play in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but a trade to a contending team would surely make him more attractive.

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves SP John Gant (oblique) suffered a strained left oblique muscle in his start Monday, June 27, against the Cleveland Indians. Gant will be re-assessed Tuesday, June 28.
Fantasy Tip: Gant has started to show progress over his past couple of starts, so hopefully he isn't sidelined for a long period. We'll likely have a more definitive answer on his timetable Tuesday.

Atlanta Braves SP John Gant (oblique) had to leave his start Monday, June 27, versus the Cleveland Indians after experiencing discomfort following a pitch made to SP Trevor Bauer. He departed with one runner on and nobody out in the top of the third inning. SP Tyrell Jenkins came in to replace him.
Fantasy Tip: Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be something that sidelines Gant for an extended period, as he's actually looked pretty decent since entering the rotation after beginning the year in the bullpen. If Gant has to miss any time, Jenkins, a top prospect, would be one of the lead candidates to take his spot. He's worth stashing in NL-only leagues for his potential if this is indeed the case.

Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler has a 7.59 ERA in his last four starts in 21 1/3 innings and opponents have a .392 on-base percentage with 31 hits (seven home runs), and he's walked nine batters and struck out 13 in that span. He had a 3.16 ERA and opponents had a .265 on-base percentage against him in his first 11 games (10 starts).
Fantasy Tip: Wisler has limited major league experience in just his second season, so the ups and downs should be expected from his fantasy owners. He's one of Atlanta's more promising arms in the rotation, though, and he's improved his BB/9 (2.6) and K/9 (6.1) from last season. Facing the Indians Tuesday, you should be very careful using Wisler in your starting lineups tomorrow evening after the way he's pitched of late.

Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski and OF Emilio Bonifacio are not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Trevor Bauer Monday, June 27. C Tyler Flowers will start in catcher and is batting sixth in the lineup, while OF Brandon Snyder will start in left field and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Flowers is hitting .211 with two home runs and three RBI this month but does have three hits in his last two games. Flowers will have value in two-catcher leagues, but owners in other leagues should find better options. Snyder has gone 4-for-15 since joining the Braves but is not a strong option.

Atlanta Braves 2B Gordon Beckham (hamstring) started his rehab assignment in the minors and went 0-for-3 Monday, June 27. Manager Brian Snitker said Beckham is around a week away from returning from the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Whenever Beckham is ready, he should return to regular playing time at either second or third base for Atlanta. He has played well for the Braves this year with a .284/.382/.442 slash line, but he's mainly an NL-only asset as middle and corner infield depth because of his lack of power on a weak-hitting team.
