Fantasy Tip: Gausman has allowed just three earned runs over 19 innings this season and has a favorable matchup in his next scheduled outing versus the Minnesota Twins Tuesday, May 10. He should be viewed as a solid starting option in all fantasy formats.

Baltimore Orioles RP Zach Britton (ankle) struck out three batters in 1 1/3 scoreless innings in a victory over the New York Yankees Wednesday, May 5, with no hits allowed and just one walk. He improved to 2-1 on the season with the win.
Fantasy Tip: It was Britton's first appearance since he injured his left ankle in a game versus the Chicago White Sox Saturday, April 30. He should be viewed as one of the top closers in baseball going forward.

Fantasy Tip: Britton could pitch as early as Thursday, and you can expect him back on the bump by the weekend. Unless you're overflowing with quality relievers, you'll want to keep Britton in your starting lineups. Dating back to 2014, Britton has 79 saves with a 1.84 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a 9.1 K/9. He is pushing for membership among the elite fantasy closers.

Fantasy Tip: Kim has been a bench player so far for the O's, but he's excelled in that role (nine hits in 15 at-bats, .600). With that said, there's not a whole lot to like in daily formats for the Korean import facing off against Tanaka. Consider Kim a low-end sleeper selection.

Fantasy Tip: Jones missed a stretch of games with a shoulder injury early in the season and is just 14-for-68 (.206 batting average) through the 18 games since. He also has an underwhelming .593 OPS. Given the recent results of the typically reliable Jones, there is likely a lot of truth to Duquette's suggestion. Stay tuned for updates, but as it stands, it isn't out of the question to bench Jones if you have a suitable replacement.

Fantasy Tip: Machado is 11-for-24 (.458) during his six-game run, and he five multi-hit games during the span. He continues to mash, and is a must-start in all fantasy formats and a great DFS play as well.

Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones was hitless in three at-bats with a walk, strikeout and he grounded into a double play Wednesday, May 4, against the New York Yankees to drop his average to .205. "Good hitters with good track records and things that he's done for us, someone will pay," manager Buck Showalter said. "He's a little frustrated by it, but I know Adam. He's gone through some periods like a lot of good hitters do and he'll get it going. He'll get it going."
Fantasy Tip: Jones is slumping hard, but he remains a must-start fantasy option for the reasons Showalter said. Jones will get it going, and that usually comes at the expense of left-handed pitching.

Baltimore Orioles SP Mike Wright threw 13 pitches in relief in the ninth inning Wednesday, May 4, against the New York Yankees. However, he is still expected to start Saturday, May 7, against the Oakland Athletics. Wright's inning of relief amounts to a glorified side session.
Fantasy Tip: Wright is a solid play in some AL-only fantasy leagues and DFS play when the matchup is favorable.

Fantasy Tip: Britton plans to wear a brace on his ankle when he returns to action, which could be any day now. Keep him in all starting lineups. Darren O'Day recorded the save in Britton's absence last night, but with Britton expected to return soon, O'Day will return to his eighth-inning setup role.

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters and 1B Pedro Alvarez are not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees left-handed SP CC Sabathia Wednesday, May 4. OF Nolan Reimold draws into the lineup in left field and is batting sixth, while C Caleb Joseph is behind the plate and hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Reimold is having a fine year so far (.343, three home runs), and he has seven hits in 20 at-bats, including one home run, against southpaws in 2016. He's certainly one to consider as a low-priced flier in daily formats. Joseph is barely over the Mendoza Line and is a desperation DFS pick.

Fantasy Tip: O'Day will get his chance in the ninth inning with CL Zach Britton on the shelf with an ankle injury. He is a decent short-term fantasy option in AL-only fantasy formats.
Tue, 03 May 2016 21:56:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Trumbo continues to resurgence, increasing his batting average to .337 with a team-high eight homers and 22 RBIs. He is a must-start in all fantasy formats and a DFS stud while running hot.

Baltimore Orioles 3B Manny Machado started at shortstop Tuesday, May 3, against the New York Yankees with SS J.J. Hardy (foot) on the 15-day disabled list. Machado handled all his chances without incident while 2B Ryan Flaherty slid over to third and was effective. He has a .450/.522/.750 slash line over his past five outings, posting four multi-hit games.
Fantasy Tip: Machado went 1-for-3 with a walk, hitting safely for the fifth straight game after a four-game hitless skid from April 24-27. Machado remains a must-start fantasy option, and his ability to bounce back is why you never bench him despite a cool streak.
Tue, 03 May 2016 21:55:09 -0700
Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman posted his third consecutive quality start Tuesday, May 3, against the New York Yankees, allowing just one run over seven innings. "Since the first day of spring training, it's been - I don't know if 'encouraging' is the word - just kind of a reminder of how good he's capable of being and how good he's been for us," manager Buck Showalter said. Tillman has allowed three runs over his past three starts covering 19 2/3 innings.
Fantasy Tip: Tillman matched a career high with nine strikeouts, accomplishing the feat for the second straight outing. He has re-emerged as a must-start in all fantasy leagues and DFS play.

Baltimore Orioles RP Zach Britton's (ankle) MRI exam showed no structural damage to his left ankle, and he'll attempt to play catch Tuesday, May 3. Britton said he thinks he should be able to return sometime this week. He's taking it day-to-day. "I feel a lot better (compared to Saturday night)," Britton said. "I think flexibility, range of motion is back. It's just swollen. It's got some bruising, but as long as I can manage the pain, I think that's going to be the biggest issue."
Fantasy Tip: Britton should avoid a stint on the DL unless he has a setback. The O's haven't had a save chance since Britton was hurt over the weekend, so it's anybody's guess between Darren O'Day, Brad Brach and Mychal Givens as to who Buck Showalter would use in place of Britton. With Britton likely back soon, the urgency to pick up one of the other relievers for save chances is minimal.
