Fantasy Tip: Feel free to keep an eye on Gallardo as he works his way back, but he isn't a player you need to stash.

Baltimore Orioles 3B Pedro Alvarez is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim SP Jered Weaver Sunday, May 22. 2B Ryan Flaherty will start at third base and is batting ninth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Flaherty has gone 8-for-36 this month but does not have any RBI during that span. Owners should be able to find better options for their lineups in daily fantasy leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Joseph has gone hitless in his last seven at-bats, so owners should look for other players to use in their starting lineups.

Fantasy Tip: If your league allows you to play middle relievers, Brach is a definite option for you. Because of his position on the roster, where he serves as sort of a setup guy, Brach often gets in line for the win or an occasional strong performance. Brach has little fantasy value outside of those leagues that allow relievers like him, but keep Brach in mind otherwise.

Fantasy Tip: Wieters lifted his line to .283/.330/.455, and these averages certainly suggest a hitter who should be considered for fantasy purposes. He may occasionally lose a start at catcher to Caleb Joseph, but Wieters certainly is in no danger of losing playing time soon.

Fantasy Tip: Alvarez is hitting .167 this month and has just two homers and nine RBI on the season. He's not a real good option in DFS against Matt Shoemaker.

Fantasy Tip: Trumbo has slowed down a bit this month but is still hitting .265 with seven home runs and 12 RBI during the month. Trumbo should be an attractive option in most mixed leagues as well as daily fantasy leagues.

Baltimore Orioles OF Joey Rickard and 3B Manny Machado hit consecutive home runs in the first inning against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Friday, May 20. Rickard went 2-for-5 with two RBI during the game, while Machado went 2-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored.
Fantasy Tip: Rickard is hitting .250 so far in May but has only four RBI during that span. He is an everyday player for the Orioles and is a starting option in deeper mixed leagues. Machado has only four hits in his last seven games but should be a starting option since he is hitting over .300 this season.

Baltimore Orioles 1B Pedro Alvarez is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Hector Santiago Friday, May 20. SS Paul Janish is starting at the hot corner and is batting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Expect to see Alvarez rested most days when the O's face a left-handed hurler. Janish has a career .215 average with seven home runs in eight big league seasons, so there's no incentive for you to click on him in daily formats this evening.

Baltimore Orioles SP Tyler Wilson took the loss Thursday, May 19, against the Seattle Mariners. He went six innings, surrendering five runs on six hits and three walks. He also struck out three batters.
Fantasy Tip: Wilson had surprisingly been pretty solid for the Orioles up to this start, so this outing might ruin his momentum. In his previous four assignments, the right-hander had allowed three runs or less in each one. Given his low strikeout totals, however, he's probably just still better suited for AL-only formats, at least until he shows more consistency.

Fantasy Tip: The trip ends May 30, which gives him an early June forecast to return. Pedro Alvarez is manning third with Manny Machado at shortstop. Alvarez has a .198-2-8 line and has been a non-factor. He'll likely head back into a DH platoon when Hardy returns. Keep Hardy stashed in most formats, but Alvarez is only a deep AL-only option.

Fantasy Tip: Neither Joseph nor Flaherty moves the needle in fantasy against Nathan Karns.

Fantasy Tip: Tillman has won five consecutive decisions and the O's are 8-1 whenever he pitches, with all eight of those victories being quality starts. He is a strong option in all fantasy formats and can be started with confidence versus the Houston Astros Tuesday, April 24.

Baltimore Orioles SP Yovani Gallardo (shoulder) will throw his first bullpen session Sunday, May 22, and he'll have another one Tuesday, May 24, if he doesn't have any setbacks. The plan is for him to throw a simulated game Friday, May 27. Manager Buck Showalter said Gallardo could go on a rehab assignment after that, and he wouldn't need more than one or two rehab starts before being activated.
Fantasy Tip: Gallardo has been on the DL since April 23 for the first time in his career with an arm injury. He had an ugly 7.00 ERA before his injury and was throwing a career-low 88.3 mph with his fastball. Gallardo was likely dropped in most mixed leagues because of his lack of productivity, and he'll need to come back and prove his health before being added back. It'll be an uphill battle, however, for him to regain much fantasy relevance. His lack of strikeouts and diminished velocity are a big reason why.

Fantasy Tip: Kim has hit well in limited chances for the O's in his first season, going 11-for-28 (.393) with two RBI. It's a shot in the dark as a deep sleeper in daily games, though, with Kim hitting at the very bottom of the batting order. Walker hasn't been too shabby this year, either.
