San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner is being pursued hard by the Baltimore Orioles, who aren't necessarily the front runner to acquire him, according to sources. The Miami Marlins and Texas Rangers are also possibilities.
Fantasy Tip: Cashner has been good his last three starts with a 2.55 ERA and 23 K's in 17 2/3 innings. Two of those starts have been on the road, which has been his weakness this season with a 6.23 ERA. He'll lose luster leaving Petco Park, but he'll remain a back-end option in fantasy rotations because of his rejuvenated strikeout prowess.

Fantasy Tip: Bundy has 24 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings this month and makes a solid starter to own in AL-only and deep mixed fantasy leagues because of his high strikeout totals. He will make his next scheduled start against the Texa Rangers Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Baltimore Orioles SP Vance Worley is having his next assignment skipped, as he won't start in the team's upcoming series with the Toronto Blue Jays. He'll be working out of the bullpen instead. Manager Buck Showalter said he hopes SP Ubaldo Jimenez "complicates things."
Fantasy Tip: Although Worley has produced solid work overall in his two starts since being inserted into the rotation, Showalter apparently still doesn't fully trust the right-hander, hence why Jimenez is getting yet another shot to stick on the pitching staff when he starts Thursday, July 28. The former Colorado Rockies hurler has been a disaster this year, though, holding an ugly 7.38 ERA and 1.97 WHIP. Worley has definitely earned some extra starts, at the very least.

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 27. 2B DJ LeMahieu is leading off, and OF David Dahl is batting second against Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Sub out Blackmon where you can in seasonal leagues. There isn't a lot of fantasy impact to LeMahieu jumping into the leadoff spot, but Dahl hitting second boosts his value. Dahl is 2-for-8 to start his career, and he's worth adding in deep leagues while being a player to watch in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: Alvarez is not seeing enough playing time to be anything more than a depth option in deep mixed leagues. Though, he's been better since the calendar flipped to June with nine home runs, 20 RBI and a .863 OPS over 111 plate appearances. Reimold is nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues.

Fantasy Tip: The odds are this is likely a midseason slump and nothing really damaging for Davis owners. If you haven't done so already, you may want to bench Davis until he finds his bat once again.
Tue, 26 Jul 2016 23:26:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: This falls into the category of every starter having a bad game once in a while. Do not let this game get to you and continue starting Tillman in all formats.
Tue, 26 Jul 2016 19:46:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jimenez is 5-9 with a 7.37 ERA and 1.97 WHIP, so fantasy owners shouldn't trust him yet. However, perhaps his finest start of the season came April 7 against the Twins, allowing just two runs - one earned - and eight hits with no walks and nine strikeouts over seven innings in a win.

Baltimore Orioles OF Hyun-soo Kim (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, July 26. He will start in right field and is batting second against Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis Tuesday.
Fantasy Tip: Kim returns after missing the last few weeks because of his hamstring injury. He should be considered a risky option since he is coming off injury but is an attractive option for some owners since he is hitting .329 this season.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 22:46:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jones has tailed off a bit in the month of July, entering with just one homer and four RBIs. However, he had his first multi-RBI game since June 25, and fantasy owners hope it is a sign of things to come.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 22:46:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Give Wieters at least one more game to shake off the rust and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks before trusting him in fantasy again.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 22:45:35 -0700
Baltimore Orioles SP Yovani Gallardo allowed two runs and five hits over 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision Monday, July 25, against the Colorado Rockies. He also issued two walks with six strikeouts and a wild pitch, throwing 60 of his 108 pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: Gallardo was much better in this one against a strong Colorado offensive unit. He hasn't showed any ill-effects of the shoulder injury which forced him to the shoulder for a good chunk of the season, and has re-emerged as a must-start in AL-only fantasy leagues and deeper mixed formats and DFS play.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 22:44:30 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners in AL-only leagues will want to avoid Kim until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game or two before trusting him again.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 13:48:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kim has proven to be an excellent hitter against right-handed pitchers with a .355/.428/.489 slash line, and he's a viable option in deep mixed and AL-only leagues because of it. Additionally, in formats where you can easily pull him out of the lineup against lefties and plug him in against righties, Kim is valuable.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 13:27:57 -0700
Baltimore Orioles 1B Pedro Alvarez is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies left-handed SP Jorge De La Rosa Monday, July 25. OF Dariel Alvarez draws into the lineup in right field and is hitting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Alvarez probably won't see enough playing time to be viable outside of deep AL-only leagues, and he has just seven hits in 29 career at-bats the last two years. He's a desperation source of salary cap relief in DFS this evening.
