Fantasy Tip: Hardy ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) could be back in Baltimore to make his season debut sometime late next week. Everth Cabrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has seen the most playing time at shortstop in Hardy's absence, and he can be a sneaky FantasyScore option in the right matchups because of his speed.

Fantasy Tip: Wieters ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) could return to the O's early next month if he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Continue to stash him in a DL slot in all fantasy leagues. Until then, Caleb Joseph ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is a low-end catching matchup play at FantasyScore.

Baltimore Orioles SS J.J. Hardy (shoulder) took a day off from batting practice Thursday, April 16. He will resume batting practice and workouts Friday, April 17, but is not ready for a rehab assignment.
Fantasy Tip: Hardy is likely still approximately two weeks away from rejoining the Orioles. FantasyScore owners should take a wait-and-see approach with Hardy. It would be wise to give him a few games to readjust to major league pitching before utilizing him in contests. Everth Cabrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has been playing shortstop and recently hitting atop the Orioles' lineup, but returning limited results. Cabrera is nothing but a low-priced flier for daily contests.

Baltimore Orioles 3B Manny Machado cracked his first home run of the season Wednesday, April 15, against the New York Yankees. It was his only hit in four at-bats. He also had a walk and two strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Machado has struggled at the dish to open the season, but perhaps the homer will jump-start him heading into weekend series at Fenway Park against the Red Sox. Over his career he is a .311 hitter (19-for-61) with five doubles, two homers, 10 RBIs and an .840 OPS at Fenway.

Fantasy Tip: Joseph wrapped up the series with seven knocks and two RBIs in 11 at-bats during the series, and he has a .375 batting average on the young season. At just $1,900 (or 3.8% of cap) Joseph is a steal in FantasyScore while he is raking.

Fantasy Tip: Hardy has been sidelined since spring training due to a strained left shoulder, but he has recently start taking batting practice. Wait until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game or two without any setbacks before plugging him back into the FantasyScore lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hardy ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) likely will have to play in a few rehab games before he will be able to return to the team. Everth Cabrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has been starting at shortstop and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 12:24:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lough ($1,600) has seen playing time in two games this season but has not had an at-bat to this point. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use for their lineups.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 12:23:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pearce ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) started off the season strong with two home runs in the first two games of the season but only has two hits in the last six games. David Lough ($1,600) is taking his place in the lineup but likely is not a great option on FantasyScore.
Tue, 14 Apr 2015 14:43:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) deserves to be considered at FantasyScore because of his good numbers against lefty pitchers; Young hit .312 with five of his seven home runs against lefties in 2014. For what it's worth, Young is also 10-for-36 (.278) with a home run in his career against Sabathia.

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (elbow) received five at-bats in an extended spring training game Tuesday, April 14, and also threw from 150 feet. Wieters is feeling much better and could play in rehab games by the end of May, although manager Buck Showalter hopes that happens sooner.
Fantasy Tip: Wieters ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) won't be back for another month, it sounds like. Caleb Joseph ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) and Ryan Lavarnway ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will continue to share the catching duties. Both catchers are weak FantasyScore plays, but Joseph is a little more intriguing.
Tue, 14 Apr 2015 13:48:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($4,000, 8% of cap) is slumping to start the season, and Steve Pearce ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is batting fourth. Davis struck out four times on Monday, April 13, so he should be avoided until whatever slump he is in is over.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 21:17:42 -0700
Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones had three hits, including a home run, in the team's loss to the New York Yankees Monday, April 13, and he's 10-for-14 with three home runs and seven RBI in his last four games.
Fantasy Tip: When players like Jones ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) heat up, you shouldn't ignore them at FantasyScore. He should be a strong play once again for daily lineups Tuesday against Yankees starter CC Sabathia, who struggled in his season debut last week. Jones has been very good against left-handed hurlers.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 15:30:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It may be another week or so before Hardy ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) returns to Baltimore's lineup for his season debut. In the meantime, Everth Cabrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) isn't a bad FantasyScore consideration at shortstop, mainly for his stolen base potential.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 15:24:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Wieters ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) won't return to Baltimore's lineup until at least next month, and you may want to give him some time before trusting him in your FantasyScore lineups. In the meantime, Caleb Joseph ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) and Ryan Lavarnway ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will handle the catching duties. They are both weak daily catching options, depending on the matchups.
