Fantasy Tip: The sample size is still too small to gauge his true value, but Morneau is worth stashing in AL-only formats for now.

Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) will undergo an MRI exam after arriving at the park still nursing a left hamstring injury Friday, July 22, according to manager Robin Ventura.
Fantasy Tip: Lawrie has respectable counting stats (35 runs, 12 home runs, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases), but his .248/.310/.413 slash line leaves a little to be desired. It sounds like Lawrie is set to miss some time, so scouting replacements isn't encouraged. Stay tuned for updates.

Fantasy Tip: Saltalamacchia is 10-for-50 through his past 20 games with nine runs, two home runs and seven RBI. He's a potential flier in daily contests, but like McCann, neither are anything more than low-end options in cavernous mixed, two-catcher and AL-only leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro has started 13 games in July, but he sits with a disappointing .152/.204/.283 slash line for the month. He's nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed, two-catcher and AL-only leagues. Narvaez should be faded against Fulmer Friday.

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 22. INF Tyler Saladino is starting at second base and batting eighth against Detroit Tigers SP Michael Fulmer Friday.
Fantasy Tip: Lawrie injured his hamstring Thursday, July 21, and he's currently considered day-to-day. He sits with a decent stat line of 35 runs, 12 home runs, 36 RBI and seven stolen bases. However, sitting with a .248/.310/.413 slash line leaves owners wishing for more. Saladino isn't much of a fantasy priority facing Fulmer Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Keep an eye on Lawrie and whether that injury will force him to miss any time. Tyler Saladino would likely benefit from a Lawrie injury or trip to the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Eaton has three multi-hit games in the past week, but his .277-5-30 line isn't too impressive for power hitting. Still, his 11 stolen bases mean Eaton has speed, and that raises his fantasy value a bit.

Fantasy Tip: Shields has posted five earned runs and eight strikeouts in over 21 innings, but the end result is three straight losses in his last three starts. That's a bit of hard luck. This has not been a great season for Shields, who should be kept sidelined. Shields' fantasy value hasn't climbed to the point yet where players should pick him up.

Fantasy Tip: Although his knee surgery took place more than a month ago, it appears Jackson is still not close to a return. At this point, it seems doubtful that the 29-year-old can make an impact for any fantasy teams the rest of the way. J.B. Shuck will continue to benefit in his absence, but he's not really an ideal option.

Fantasy Tip: Avila endured a hamstring injury a couple of weeks ago, and while he was supposed to return at the end of July, it looks like that won't be happening now due to this setback. In the meantime, Dioner Navarro will benefit, though he isn't a reliable option. His batting average has been hovering around the Mendoza Line all season.

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, July 21, in favor of 1B Justin Morneau at designated hitter. Morneau is batting fifth and facing Detroit Tigers SP Mike Pelfrey.
Fantasy Tip: Garcia, who continues to frustrate fantasy owners with a .234/.309/.332 slash line and only five home runs, could continue to lose playing time at DH to Morneau, making him only an AL-only candidate at this point. Morneau has just three hits in 13 at-bats for the Pale Hose and is a shell of his former self. He's worth a flier, though, in AL leagues if he sees regular at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Sale is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball this year with his 14-3 record, 3.18 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 8.7 K/9, so it's understandable that he's untouchable. The lanky lefty has reinvented himself this year to take some off his fastball in order to be more efficient and last deeper into games. It's hurt his strikeout totals, but his fantasy owners aren't complaining.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson is the White Sox's shortstop of the future, and he's looked good with a .283 average, five home runs, 11 RBI and three steals in his first taste of the majors in 33 games. However, he must improve his plate patience and take more walks (just two in 145 at-bats) in order to use his speed more and become useful in the majority of seasonal leagues at the 6.

Fantasy Tip: It has been a forgettable season for Shields, and he started off his Chicago career very poorly. However, he is starting to piece it together and he has re-emerged as a must-start in AL-only fantasy leagues, deeper mixed formats and DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: Frazier has bagged 28 homers with 64 RBIs, but he also has a .216 batting average and 91 strikeouts in 343 at-bats. He is basically the 2016 version of Adam Dunn, helping fantasy owners with his power, and hurting his fantasy owners with a poor batting average and plenty of strikeouts.
