Cincinnati Reds OF Adam Duvall went 2-for-3 with his National League-leading 22nd home run of the season Wednesday, June 29, versus the Chicago Cubs. The long ball produced his only run scored and RBI of the contest. He also drew a walk.
Fantasy Tip: Duvall simply continues to be one of baseball's biggest surprises in 2016, and his owners should just keep firing him up every time he's in the lineup. At this rate, the third-year outfielder will end up being one of the more unlikely All-Stars from this year's Midsummer Classic.

Cincinnati Reds SP Cody Reed struggled again in his third major league start Wednesday, June 29, losing to the Chicago Cubs to drop his record to 0-2. The first-year southpaw lasted just four innings, surrendering seven runs on nine hits, including three homers. He also struck out five and walked none.
Fantasy Tip: Being a recent second-round draft pick with good swing-and-miss stuff, Reed had a little bit of hype entering his first go-around with the Reds, but has floundered significantly. After an encouraging first start on June 18, Reed has been lit up in each of his past two starts, and is therefore a dangerous option right now, no matter the format. He may have worthwhile potential, though, so he's not a bad stash in the deepest of leagues.

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton (face) suffered a contusion on the left side of his face and is going through the concussion protocol after being hit in the face with a line drive Wednesday, June 29.
Fantasy Tip: Another concussion would be a major setback for Hamilton, so at this point, his fantasy stock is in a complete wait-and-see stage. Stay tuned for updates and don't make any hasty lineup decisions.

Fantasy Tip: Hamilton missed time earlier this season because of a concussion. It's purely speculative, but if he has suffered another in such a short period of time, he could be out a while. Stay tuned for updates. Holt is a low-end consideration in good matchups if Hamilton misses time.

Fantasy Tip: Hoover has been awful all year despite the team essentially handing him the closer role to open the year. He has a 13.50 ERA and allowed 10 runs in his last two outings. He could receive one more shot later in the season if Tony Cingrani falters, but he shouldn't be owned for now.

Fantasy Tip: Hamilton is hitting .281 with a couple of homers this month after a massively slow start. He has 19 steals as well, but that doesn't factor into DFS as much. He's a lower-middle option against Kyle Hendricks. Peraza is hitting .255 with seven steals in 47 at-bats. He has swiped a bag in three straight games. He's a better traditional league guy than a DFS option.

Fantasy Tip: After a slow start to the year, Votto is now producing along the lines with what his fantasy owners had expected to raise his season slash line to .248/.376/.446 with 13 homers and 39 RBI. His two long balls last night were overshadowed by Kris Bryant's monstrous three-homer performance. Start Votto with confidence in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: You aren't benching Bruce in seasonal leagues after he's put up a .278 average with 17 home runs and 59 RBI this season, but in the lefty-on-lefty matchup in DFS you shouldn't be paying up for Bruce's services tonight.

Cincinnati Reds 2B Brandon Phillips is in a 7-for-40 stretch with five strikeouts in his last nine games. However, he's hitting .333 in 18 career at-bats against the starter Tuesday, June 28, Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester.
Fantasy Tip: With Phillips struggling at the plate of late, you should probably look to avoid him in daily games. In standard leagues, though, get him back into your lineups after a night off to clear his head Monday.

Cincinnati Reds 1B Joey Votto checked nearly every box he could for his fantasy owners against the Chicago Cubs on Monday, June 27, going 2-for-4 with a pair of homers, three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.
Fantasy Tip: Votto didn't quite put on the offensive show Kris Bryant did, but he came awfully close. The 32-year-old nearly matched his power output for the month Monday after entering the night with two homers and six RBI. Still, Votto is batting .325 in June after hitting .229 in April and .200 in May, and he has struggled at home all season, so perhaps this effort will help him pick up his production. His track record is much too good to believe he won't turn his season around eventually.

Cincinnati Reds 2B Brandon Phillips is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 27. 2B Jose Peraza is starting at the keystone and is hitting seventh against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta. Also, OF Billy Hamilton moves up into the two-hole.
Fantasy Tip: Peraza has very little power but has stolen five bases in 44 plate appearances this year, so he can be useful in deeper leagues for his speed. However, facing Arrieta should make you want to avoid him in daily contests. Hamilton has more DFS allure atop the batting order, but he, too, is a weaker option against one of the stronger pitchers in baseball today.

Fantasy Tip: The Reds are currently using a committee approach to the closing role with Tony Cingrani and Ross Ohlendorf the main options, but Diaz could factor in eventually with the Reds out of contention for the second half. Diaz isn't a waiver wire priority, but keep tabs on him if you're desperate for saves in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Cingrani has held his opponent scoreless in nine of 10 appearances this June. After a slow start to the season, it looks like Cingrani has finally found his footing. The Reds might be struggling, but Cingrani is still worth a fantasy spot.

Fantasy Tip: It has been a nice season for Bruce, who has 17 homers in 70 games and is on pace to surpass the 26 he hit a year ago. Not only that, Bruce's average is up by 54 points. He should be active in all formats.

Cincinnati Reds SP Anthony DeSclafani gave up five singles, struck out five, and didn't allow a runner to reach second base Sunday, June 26, in a 3-0 shutout of the San Diego Padres. DeSclafani also hit an RBI single in the sixth inning off Padres SP Luis Perdomo,
Fantasy Tip: DeSclafani has been strong in his return from oblique problems that cost him the first two months of the season. The Reds are still a subpar team, however, so analyze how DeSclafani does against certain squads before putting him in your DFS lineup.
