Fantasy Tip: Cabrera is hitting .261 in limited playing time this season but is not a great fantasy option.

Fantasy Tip: Votto is hitting just .246 this year, but he's hitting .333 in June. He's a high-end option against Colin Rea.

Cincinnati Reds OF Adam Duvall moved into a tie for the league lead in home runs, hitting his 21st of the year and finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in a 7-4 loss to the San Diego Padres Thursday, June 23.
Fantasy Tip: Duvall's surprise season rolls on, and he should be owned in all formats at this point. That being said, he could make a nice sell-high candidate.

Fantasy Tip: Feel free to stash Bailey in NL-only leagues, but expect minimal contributions from him in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds promising that Votto will return to the lineup Friday, June 24, but you'll want to check back for an official word before locking him into your lineups. Votto is having a mediocre season with 39 runs, 11 home runs, 36 RBI, five stolen bases and a .247/.373/.432 slash line.

Fantasy Tip: If you have the luxury, Bailey remains a viable stash option in deep mixed and NL-only settings. However, with just two starts since 2014, you'll want to keep your expectations in check. Stay tuned for updates while Bailey works his way back.

Cincinnati Reds C Tucker Barnhart is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 23. C Ramon Cabrera is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against San Diego Padres SP Christian Friedrich Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Barnhart is a low-end option in cavernous mixed, two-catcher and NL-only formats, but he does receive the majority of starts, so his volume slightly helps maintain his limited fantasy value. Cabrera is a respectable 23-for-73 (.315 batting average) in the majors, and he could be utilized as a low-priced flier in daily contests Thursday.

Cincinnati Reds 1B Joey Votto (illness) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, June 23. 2B Jose Peraza draws into the lineup and is starting in left field and batting seventh against San Diego Padres SP Christian Friedrich Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Votto hasn't played since Sunday, June 19, but he'll likely return sooner than later. Peraza is nothing more than a low-end option in all fantasy formats, and his ownership should be limited to cavernous mixed and NL-only seasonal leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Although the Reds needed help catching with Devin Mesoraco injured, Pacheco didn't play at all behind the plate. That says all you need to know about Pacheco's fantasy value. Stay away at this point.

Fantasy Tip: After allowing two runs in his first 14 innings this month, Straily has been touched up for 10 runs over his last 10 1/3 frames, raising his ERA from 3.15 to 3.83 in the process. Straily's struggles shouldn't concern you just yet, but definitely keep an eye on him over his next couple of starts to see if he rights the ship.

Fantasy Tip: Desmond has been one of the better rebound stories in fantasy this season, as he's moving the needle across all five standard categories with 51 runs, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, 13 stolen bases and a .313/.365/.505 slash line. Rua is nothing more than a low-end option in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues, but he has produced when given an opportunity (.865 OPS through 153 plate appearances), so view him as a viable flier in daily contests when in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Votto is having a mediocre season with 39 runs, 11 home runs, 36 RBI, five stolen bases and a .247/.373/.432 slash line, so he remains a viable option in all seasonal leagues. However, after an excellent showing in 2015, fantasy owners were likely hoping for more.

Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen is a potential grab in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but keep your expectations in check. His rookie season left a lot to be desired (5.40 ERA, 1.66 ERA and 6.6 K/9 through 113 1/3 innings). Simon should be replaced in all fantasy formats.

Cincinnati Reds SP Anthony DeSclafani allowed a two-run home run to Texas Rangers INF Jurickson Profar but little else on Tuesday, June 21. DeSclafani yielded five hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings for his first victory since Sept. 12, 2015.
Fantasy Tip: This was easily the best of DeSclafani's three starts this season since coming off the disabled list due to oblique strain. The 26-year-old New Jersey native has a tidy 2.30 ERA so far, although his 1.66 WHIP suggests he is still rounding into form. DeSclafani doesn't figure to be a must-start anytime soon, but he should be able to hold his own a back-end starter in most mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Bruce, who is already batting a career high .282, moved into second place in the National League with 55 RBI with his four-RBI performance Tuesday. Even more impressively, the 29-year-old has driven in 11 runs seven games into Cincinnati's current road trip, increasing his RBI total for the month to 22. He's a top-15 fantasy outfielder and should be started in all leagues.
