Fantasy Tip: Finnegan has been inconsistent all year, and his control issues and modest strikeout numbers limit his fantasy appeal.

Cincinnati Reds OF Jay Bruce would likely approve a potential trade to the Cleveland Indians, even though the club is one of eight teams on his no-trade clause, according to a friend of Bruce, who added that he has no ill will towards the city of Cleveland or the Indians.
Fantasy Tip: The 29-year-old Bruce was hitting .279 with 17 home runs and 59 RBI in 73 games entering play Thursday, June 30. He should be viewed as a starting outfield option in all fantasy formats.

Cincinnati Reds RP Caleb Cotham (shoulder) will make at least five rehab appearances for Class A Pensacola. He is currently on the disabled list due to right shoulder inflammation and will remain on his rehab assignment through at least July 11.
Fantasy Tip: Although Cotham was in the mix to receive save opportunities earlier this season, he shouldn't be owned in any fantasy format at this point. The 28-year-old right-hander was 0-3 with a 7.40 ERA through 23 appearances before landing on the disabled list and RP Tony Cingrani has pitched well over the last month while serving as the Reds' primary closer.

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton (face) has passed the concussion protocol and is starting in center field and batting seventh against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez Thursday, June 30.
Fantasy Tip: Hamilton owners caught a break after he was hit in the face by a line drive Wednesday, June 29. Hamilton checks out as a one-trick pony, but he can carry a team in the stolen base category and should be owned in all seasonal leagues.

Cincinnati Reds 2B/OF Jose Peraza is starting in center field and is batting seventh against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez Thursday, June 30. OF Billy Hamilton (head) remains out of the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Peraza is an intriguing Cincy prospect that should be owned in NL-only leagues, mainly for his speed. He could become useful in deeper mixed leagues, too, if Hamilton is forced to the 7-day concussion DL. Peraza could split time in center with Tyler Holt, too, especially since Peraza's outfield defense has been shaky.

Fantasy Tip: Hamilton recently returned from a concussion injury, so expect the league and Cincinnati to be extremely cautious with him. At this point, you'll want to avoid any hasty roster decisions and stay tuned for updates. Jose Peraza is starting in center field Thursday, and he is a speculative flier grab in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues.

Cincinnati Reds OF Adam Duvall went 2-for-3 with his National League-leading 22nd home run of the season Wednesday, June 29, versus the Chicago Cubs. The long ball produced his only run scored and RBI of the contest. He also drew a walk.
Fantasy Tip: Duvall simply continues to be one of baseball's biggest surprises in 2016, and his owners should just keep firing him up every time he's in the lineup. At this rate, the third-year outfielder will end up being one of the more unlikely All-Stars from this year's Midsummer Classic.

Cincinnati Reds SP Cody Reed struggled again in his third major league start Wednesday, June 29, losing to the Chicago Cubs to drop his record to 0-2. The first-year southpaw lasted just four innings, surrendering seven runs on nine hits, including three homers. He also struck out five and walked none.
Fantasy Tip: Being a recent second-round draft pick with good swing-and-miss stuff, Reed had a little bit of hype entering his first go-around with the Reds, but has floundered significantly. After an encouraging first start on June 18, Reed has been lit up in each of his past two starts, and is therefore a dangerous option right now, no matter the format. He may have worthwhile potential, though, so he's not a bad stash in the deepest of leagues.

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Reds OF Billy Hamilton (face) suffered a contusion on the left side of his face and is going through the concussion protocol after being hit in the face with a line drive Wednesday, June 29.
Fantasy Tip: Another concussion would be a major setback for Hamilton, so at this point, his fantasy stock is in a complete wait-and-see stage. Stay tuned for updates and don't make any hasty lineup decisions.

Fantasy Tip: Hamilton missed time earlier this season because of a concussion. It's purely speculative, but if he has suffered another in such a short period of time, he could be out a while. Stay tuned for updates. Holt is a low-end consideration in good matchups if Hamilton misses time.
Wed, 29 Jun 2016 08:13:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hoover has been awful all year despite the team essentially handing him the closer role to open the year. He has a 13.50 ERA and allowed 10 runs in his last two outings. He could receive one more shot later in the season if Tony Cingrani falters, but he shouldn't be owned for now.
Wed, 29 Jun 2016 07:24:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hamilton is hitting .281 with a couple of homers this month after a massively slow start. He has 19 steals as well, but that doesn't factor into DFS as much. He's a lower-middle option against Kyle Hendricks. Peraza is hitting .255 with seven steals in 47 at-bats. He has swiped a bag in three straight games. He's a better traditional league guy than a DFS option.

Fantasy Tip: After a slow start to the year, Votto is now producing along the lines with what his fantasy owners had expected to raise his season slash line to .248/.376/.446 with 13 homers and 39 RBI. His two long balls last night were overshadowed by Kris Bryant's monstrous three-homer performance. Start Votto with confidence in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: You aren't benching Bruce in seasonal leagues after he's put up a .278 average with 17 home runs and 59 RBI this season, but in the lefty-on-lefty matchup in DFS you shouldn't be paying up for Bruce's services tonight.

Cincinnati Reds 2B Brandon Phillips is in a 7-for-40 stretch with five strikeouts in his last nine games. However, he's hitting .333 in 18 career at-bats against the starter Tuesday, June 28, Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester.
Fantasy Tip: With Phillips struggling at the plate of late, you should probably look to avoid him in daily games. In standard leagues, though, get him back into your lineups after a night off to clear his head Monday.
