Fantasy Tip: Salazar was straight up filthy with a 98 mph fastball and a changeup that fell off the table. He's a definite target on FantasyScore if he sticks in the rotation.

Fantasy Tip: Carrasco ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) dodged a bullet in his last outing, and he's scheduled to make his next start Monday against the Chicago White Sox on the road. Carrasco looked great in his first outing of the year and should be good to go for a FantasyScore lineup spot against the struggling White Sox.

Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar's start Saturday, April 18, will not be a spot start, according to manager Terry Francona. The team feels that SP Zach McAllister can be a "weapon" out of the bullpen.
Fantasy Tip: Salazar is a very attractive cheap FantasyScore option tomorrow against the offensively-challenged Minnesota Twins. Strongly consider him. McAllister can now be ditched in AL-only leagues, while Salazar will be a popular addition in single-universe and deep mixed leagues this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is a matchup play worth considering tonight at FantasyScore. Murphy hit .268 with seven of his eight long balls against right-handed pitching in 2014 in 336 at-bats. Ignore the fact that he's hitless in just six at-bats in his career against Pelfrey.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (back) is back in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Mike Pelfrey Friday, April 17. Brantley is serving as the designated hitter and batting third in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Brantley ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) has been dealing with a lower back ailment that also sidelined him in spring training. He has one hit in eight at-bats to begin the year. You may want to avoid him at FantasyScore until he can get back into the flow in the early going.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar may remain in the starting rotation after his start against the Minnesota Twins Saturday, April 18, with SP Zach McAllister returning to the bulllpen.
Fantasy Tip: Salazar ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is worth a speculative add in the majority of formats. He has huge strikeout potential, and could be worth a flier in FantasyScore contests for his start against the Twins Saturday. Make sure to follow the situation, but Salazar's assignment to Triple-A Columbus was expected to temporary, and he profiles better in the rotation than McAllister long term.

Fantasy Tip: This is likely just a spot start for Salazar, since Carlos Carrasco had to have his next start pushed back after taking a liner to the face the other day. Salazar went 6-8 with a 4.25 ERA in 20 starts last year and has mostly been a disappointment to fantasy owners expecting more from him. He tossed six shutout innings with seven K's in his only start for Triple-A Columbus this year. A matchup with the weak-hitting Twins is notable at FantasyScore, and he'll be a cheap option that most owners won't be considering.

Cleveland Indians SP Trevor Bauer improved to 2-0 on the season to win his first two starts of the season for the first time in his career by beating the Chicago White Sox Wednesday, April 15. He allowed just two runs and four hits while walking four and striking out eight in six innings.
Fantasy Tip: Bauer ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is off to the best start of his young career, and he may be headed to a breakout season in 2015. However, he's walked nine hitters in two outings, which demonstrates the risk/reward you'll get with him at FantasyScore. Regardless, his solid results are encouraging, and his strikeout numbers make him a strong play for daily gamers.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco's (face, jaw) X-rays and CT scan came back negative Tuesday, April 14, and he was diagnosed with a bad bruise on his jaw, according to manager Terry Francona. Carrasco returned to the stadium before the game ended Tuesday, and he'll be re-evaluated Wednesday, April 15.
Fantasy Tip: Carrasco ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) definitely dodged a huge bullet Tuesday night, and he's fortunate things didn't turn out worse. As of now, it looks like he'll be able to make his next start April 20. After a dominant first outing of the season last week, Carrasco should be considered a solid FantasyScore play against the Chicago White Sox.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 07:57:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: At $6,900 (13.8% of your cap), Carrasco will be an option on FantasyScore when his turn comes up.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 07:02:50 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Brantley may need to return in the next day or two to avoid the disabled list. Jerry Sands ($1,800, 3.6% of your cap) is 5-for-13 with four RBIs thus far and could have some matchup luster on FantasyScore if Brantley is sidelined much longer.
Wed, 15 Apr 2015 07:01:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mike Aviles ($2,000, 4.0% of your cap) is filling in against John Danks. Despite the good matchup, Aviles doesn't have a lot of daily value. Aviles is a very low-end shortstop option on FantasyScore.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco (jaw) is being treated for a jaw contusion after being hit in the face by a line drive Tuesday, April 14. He has shown no symptoms of concussion or head injury at this point.
Fantasy Tip: It is early, but it appears Carrasco ($6,900; 13.8% of cap) has dodged a major bullet. Itís uncertain if he will be able to make his next scheduled start, but FantasyScore owners might be better off letting him make at least one full start without any setbacks before trusting him again.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (back) did not start Tuesday, April 14, against the Chicago White Sox, and manager Terry Francona said the only way Brantley plays Wednesday, April 15, is if the outfielder's health is "perfect." Brantley is dealing with a lower back injury, and he has missed five of the first seven games. He might return Friday, April 17, against the Minnesota Twins.
Fantasy Tip: Avoid Dr. Smooth in FantasyScore until the outfielder is able to officially return and prove his health in back-to-back games without any setbacks. At $5,400 (or 10.8% of cap) there is just too much risk in FantasyScore until he can play without lingering effects of the injury.
Tue, 14 Apr 2015 18:22:10 -0700
Cleveland Indians OF Nick Swisher (knee) has been playing in extended spring games since last week, and he might begin a minor-league rehab assignment with one of the team's affiliates by next week. "He could start a rehab assignment potentially sometime as early as next week," general manager Chris Antonetti said Tuesday, April 14. "It doesn't mean he's that close (to playing for the Indians). He still has to work through playing back-to-back nine-inning games, playing in the outfield and seeing how he recovers."
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Swisher will be out a while, and he can spend 20 days on a rehab assignment. FantasyScore need not pay him any mind for the time being. When he returns, he might play some first base, but most of his work is expected to be in the outfield.
