Fantasy Tip: Chisenhall is hitting .309 this month without a lot of damage. He's a low-end option against Kevin Gausman.

Fantasy Tip: Upton is expected to be traded in the near future and should continue to be a target for the Indians since they are looking for a bat. He is hitting .259 with 16 home runs and 45 RBI this season and would still be a solid fantasy option if he joins Cleveland.

Fantasy Tip: If you've stuck with Brantley to this point, there's no point jumping ship now. However, at this point, anything from the veteran should be viewed as a positive, unfortunately. When healthy, he's a five-category contributor, but he's been limited to just 11 games this year.

Cleveland Indians OF Lonnie Chisenhall (illness) was scratched from the starting lineup Friday, July 22, with what manager Terry Francona called "intestinal turmoil." OF Abraham Almonte is replacing Chisenhall in right field.
Fantasy Tip: It's unknown if this is a situation that could keep Chisenhall out for more than one game. Stay tuned for updates. With a .300/.348/.465 slash line and six homers and 29 RBI in 230 at-bats, he can be useful to those in deep mixed and AL-only leagues against certain righties. Almonte has only three hits in 21 at-bats and is a low-end desperation start in DFS.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (shoulder) is scheduled to have more tests on his shoulder Thursday, July 21, and the Indians don't expect an update on his status until Friday, July 22, at the earliest. He has played in only 11 games this year.
Fantasy Tip: It's looking more and more like Brantley may not play again this year, but let's wait to see the results of his latest tests to be sure. Because he can offer five-category production to his fantasy owners when healthy, he must remain stashed everywhere. Jose Ramirez and Tyler Naquin have benefited in Brantley's absence.

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco improved his record to 7-3 after beating the Kansas City Royals in his start Wednesday, July 20. The right-hander twirled six shutout innings of one-hit ball, walking two and striking out six.
Fantasy Tip: Remarkably, that's now eight starts in a row in which Carrasco has allowed two earned runs or fewer, and as a result, he now owns a shiny 2.31 ERA. His strikeout rate is slightly down from past years, but other than that, the 29-year-old has been an outstanding presence in fantasy lineups all season long. He's impossible to bench right now in any format.

Cleveland Indians OF Tyler Naquin put up a monster line Wednesday, July 20, against the Kansas City Royals. The rookie outfielder went 3-for-6 with a pair of homers -- his 11th and 12th on the season -- while driving in six runs and scoring twice. He also added a double.
Fantasy Tip: Wow, what a performance from Naquin, who is really starting to turn into an option in the outfield in AL-only leagues, if not deep mixed formats as well. Despite not having any home runs in his first two months with the Indians, Naquin has slugged 12 of them since, including six here in July. As long as Michael Brantley (shoulder) remains out, Naquin will continue to benefit. He could be worth riding while he's swinging a hot bat.

Fantasy Tip: Cleveland recently denied interest in Lucroy, and trade rumors fly rampant this time over year. Still, relocating to one of the best teams in the American League wouldn't hurt Lucroy's fantasy value. Expect the backstop to be moved before the deadline, so stay tuned for updates.

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. INF/OF Jose Ramirez is starting at the hot corner and batting fifth against Kansas City Royals SP Ian Kennedy Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Uribe's fantasy value is dwindling, and with Cleveland looking to take a run at the playoffs, it's unlikely they view him as a viable starter at the hot corner. He owns a .214/.266/.348 slash line, after all. Ramirez is a low-end option in deep mixed leagues because of his lack of pop, but he does have nice stats otherwise: 45 runs, 41 RBI and 10 stolen bases with a .294/.351/.412 line.

Fantasy Tip: Bruce could be a spectacular addition in case Michael Brantley ended up missing the rest of the season, but it appears Bruce will stay in Cincinnati or go elsewhere. Keep an eye on where Bruce lands.

Fantasy Tip: Napoli has turned around his career with one spectacular season in Cleveland. Free of injuries and other adversity and surrounded by several other top hitters, Napoli has blossomed once again. He should be started in all formats.
Tue, 19 Jul 2016 23:16:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Salazar won for the 11th time in 14 decisions and solidified his status as one of Cleveland's top hurlers. He's a must-play in all formats.

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Brantley (shoulder) is feeling more pain in his shoulder at the end of his swing, according to manager Terry Francona. Brantley will have an enhanced image Wednesday, July 20, at which time the Indians are hoping to have more information.
Fantasy Tip: Another setback for the talented outfielder has his fantasy owners shaking their heads. It's looking like another lost season, but there's still time to make a return before the end of the year. But he hasn't played since May 9. Continue stashing him because of his five-category ability, but your patience has to be running thin.
Tue, 19 Jul 2016 13:38:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Naquin is out due to the lefty-lefty matchup. A previous post suggests to play Davis because of the damage he can do at the top of the lineup, especially against an unfamiliar Kansas City pitcher.
Tue, 19 Jul 2016 13:35:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chisenhall, a lefty hitter, is out with the lefty pitcher matchup. Keep him away from your DFS lineup for tonight, although Chisenhall might pinch-hit once a righty enters the game. Gonzalez was .296-6-39 with nine steals at Class AAA Columbus, but wait and see how he handles his first few big league at-bats before investing a roster spot.
