Fantasy Tip: Facing Clayton Kershaw is no easy task for Rosario ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) Friday. It is likely best to avoid him in all fantasy formats. At best, Rosario is a low-priced flier for FantasyScore players.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Gonzalez from your fantasy lineups Friday. Drew Stubbs ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is drawing into the lineup, but it is far from a favorable matchup against Clayton Kershaw. Stubbs is a high-risk, high-reward option for FantasyScore players.

Fantasy Tip: Typically, Rosario ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is a nice daily option against southpaws, but Clayton Kershaw isn't your typical lefty. It would be wise to avoid both Rosario and Morneau in all fantasy formats Friday.

Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa (groin) made his second rehab outing with Triple-A Albuquerque Tuesday, April 14, and he is scheduled to make his 2015 season debut against the San Diego Padres at Coors Field Monday, April 20.
Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) should be avoided at FantasyScore on Monday against the Friars. Not only will he be pitching at Coors Field, but he'll be facing the revamped San Diego lineup that has clicked to begin the season.

Colorado Rockies RP Adam Ottavino has dominated right-handed hitters in the last two seasons, allowing a .218 batting average. However, lefties hit .333 off of him. He has since tweaked his approach against left-handers, breaking out a cut fastball and putting his changeup in his back pocket. So far in 2015, lefties are 0-for-5 with one walk against him.
Fantasy Tip: Ottavino has the pure stuff to stick in the Rockies' closer role for the entire season if he can stay healthy. Adding a new wrinkle to his arsenal and approach should make him more effective against lefties, too. After Walt Weiss named him the closer earlier this week, he should now be owned in 100% of standard leagues. If he's still available in your league, pounce quickly.

Colorado Rockies C Nick Hundley is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Tim Lincecum Wednesday, April 15. C Michael McKenry is starting behind the plate and hitting seventh in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: McKenry ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't really move the needle much at all for daily fantasy gamers at FantasyScore tonight against Lincecum at the pitcher-friendly environment in San Fran.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting in the two hole, Duffy ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has nice upside as a low-priced flier for FantasyScore players Wednesday. Opposing southpaw Tyler Matzek has allowed a career slash line of .302/.373/.463 to right-handed batters. At this point, Duffy doesn't move the needle in the majority of seasonal formats.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting in front of the pitcher is a value downgrade for anyone, and particularly with an uninspiring Gaints' bottom of the order. Panik ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) profiles as a nice contact hitter which makes him a solid daily play, however FantasyScore players should aim higher Wednesday. Panik's facing a southpaw Wednesday, too, so this may just be a handedness relegation.

Colorado Rockies RP Adam Ottavino picked up his first save of the season over the San Francisco Giants Tuesday, April 14, after manager Walt Weiss declared Ottavino the team's closer over RP LaTroy Hawkins. Ottavino struck out all three hitters he faced. "Otto was dominant tonight," Weiss told reporters after the game. "He's got closer's stuff."
Fantasy Tip: Ottavino should now be owned in all fantasy baseball leagues. Hawkins could eventually earn the closer's role back, but it's unlikely. There's no real reason to hold onto him in any leagues if he's not pitching in the ninth.
Tue, 14 Apr 2015 23:24:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ottavino needs to be picked up in most formats. LaTroy Hawkins can be released in all but NL-only leagues.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 21:51:55 -0700
Updating a previous report, Colorado Rockies RP LaTroy Hawkins is out as the closer for now. However, manager Walt Weiss said after the game Monday, April 13, that he wasn't ready to "declare a closer." RP Rafael Betancourt worked a perfect inning for the save Monday.
Fantasy Tip: Weiss said he would look at other options, presumably Adam Ottavino, and remember John Axford for closer experience as well. Hawkins could also find his way back into the mix at some point. Short term, it looks like Betancourt is the best bet for saves, but Ottavino has the best long-term fantasy appeal.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 18:12:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ottavino has more long-term fantasy potential than Betancourt and deposed closer LaTroy Hawkins, and he was likely rested since he threw 19 pitches Saturday and 16 pitches Sunday. Ottavino has not allowed a run while yielding just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts over 4 ⅓ innings in four relief appearances so far. Heíll definitely get save chances sooner rather than later.

Colorado Rockies RP Rafael Betancourt worked a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts for his first save Monday, April 13, against the San Francisco Giants. It was his first save since Aug. 20, 2013.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners might be surprised to see Walt Weiss go to Betancourt over Adam Ottavino after LaTroy Hawkins was yanked from the closerís role following Sundayís blown save. Ottavino had 35 total pitches Saturday and Sunday, so itís probably why he was not used here. Ottavino has more long-term fantasy potential, but Betancourt is worth grabbing, too, especially in deeper NL-only leagues.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 14:10:43 -0700
Updating a previous report, Colorado Rockies RP LaTroy Hawkins will take a "short-term breather" from the closer's role, according to manager Walt Weiss. Hawkins blew the save against the Chicago Cubs Sunday, April 12. RP Rafael Betancourt is expected to be used in a save situation if it comes up Monday, April 13.
Fantasy Tip: Hawkins, 42, is in the final season of his career. There's a good chance he won't get a chance to close games again this year if Adam Ottavino takes the job and runs with it. Ottavino should be your first target off the waiver wire if you still need saves.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 12:08:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ottavino is worth adding in all formats, as there are no bad saves. Add his 9.3 K/9 mark over the past three seasons, and he'll help in the punch-out department, too. Hawkins can be replaced in all but NL-only leagues, but even there, he doesn't carry significant value.
