Fantasy Tip: Estevez has been filling in for Jake McGee as the team's closer, but the team may look for other options to use after Friday's performance. He could be a short-term option for owners if he keeps the job but will not have much value if he loses the job.

Fantasy Tip: Gray is helping out in the strikeout department (9.7 K/9), but otherwise, he leaves a lot to be desired with a 4.80 ERA and just four wins through 12 starts. Facing Toronto is a daunting matchup, too. Owners should be selective with who they start Gray against, and he isn't overly viable at Coors Field.

Fantasy Tip: McGee is worth stashing in all seasonal leagues because he should return to the closer role once healthy. It wasn't pretty (4.98 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 6.2 K/9), but McGee did grab 15 saves before the injury.

Colorado Rockies SS Trevor Story is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 24. INF Cristhian Adames is starting at shortstop and batting seventh against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley Friday.
Fantasy Tip: Story has obviously slowed down but has still posted a respectable 12 runs, four home runs, 12 RBI, two stolen bases and a .273/.341/.494 slash line in June. He remains a high-end option at the 6 going forward. Adames is nothing more than a desperation flier in daily contests Friday, albeit a flier playing in Coors Field.

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 24. OF Brandon Barnes is starting in left field and batting eighth against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Archie Bradley Friday.
Fantasy Tip: Stash Gonzalez in all fantasy formats and check back for updates on the severity of his injury. He's got 48 runs, 15 home runs, 38 RBI and a .310/.355/.542 slash line, after all. Barnes is 7-for-41 with a .496 OPS this season, but the game is in Coors Field, so he is a potential low-priced flier in daily contests Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Car-Go is probably unlikely for Friday, and wrist injuries are tricky. Check his status Friday. Brandon Barnes could be a low-end consideration in his place.

Fantasy Tip: This pretty much confirms that Reyes would indeed switch to third if he were to return to the Mets. It would be a smart move, too, other than the potential PR troubles that might come with it, as Reyes would be the best possible fit New York could have at the hot corner while David Wright is sidelined. The former NL batting champion would be someone to go after immediately in fantasy if he indeed lands back in Flushing.

Colorado Rockies SP Jon Gray (shoulder) said his shoulder was tired, which is why he had to leave his start after just four innings Wednesday, June 22. He expects to make his next start against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday, June 27.
Fantasy Tip: Gray's 9.7 K/9 is attractive, but it has been accompanied with a 4.80 ERA and just four wins through 12 starts. Going up against the Blue Jays at hitter-friendly Coors Field isn't exactly a dream matchup, especially at less than 100%. Be wary of overvaluing Gray because of his punchouts.

Fantasy Tip: It usually takes 48 hours to clear those waivers, and he'll be free to sign with another team. It may be a few days before he signs with a team, and the best-case scenario is probably him surfacing around the All-Star break.

Colorado Rockies SP Jon Gray received a no-decision Wednesday, June 22, versus the New York Yankees, after lasting only four innings and giving up four runs on three hits and five walks. He also struck out three.
Fantasy Tip: After the game, manager Walt Weiss said Gray was removed early from the contest due to fatigue and a case of heavy arm, so the youngster can be forgiven for this tough road effort. He had actually been in a real nice groove, with a streak of five straight quality starts prior to today. Hopefully there are no continued issues with his arm and that he's able to make his next start.

Fantasy Tip: Gray lasted four innings and gave up four runs on three hits and five walks, so perhaps this was the reason for his off outing. Entering today's assignment, the former first-round draft pick had registered five straight quality starts, and thus, his owners should hope this isn't something that takes him out of his current rhythm. More information should be known soon if Gray has to miss his next start. Even so, he's proven he's deserving of a roster spot in many leagues.

Fantasy Tip: With 100 Ks in 70 games, Story is on pace for 231 strikeouts, which would break the single-season record held by teammate Mark Reynolds (223 in 2009). While that's less than ideal, he's also on pace for 42 home runs and 106 RBI, though his power has dipped markedly since April. Story is worth keeping active in all leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Arenado now leads the majors in home runs (21) and the National League in RBI (60), and he's within shouting distance of .300 (.295). He's already an elite hitter that looks like better days are still to come. Keep him active in all leagues.

Fantasy Tip: After a brief slump (0-for-12 during the previous three-game stretch), Blackmon has gone 5-for-10 with three home runs in his last two. While his lack of activity on the base paths has been disappointing this season, Blackmon does enough with the bat to be a viable starting outfielder in all leagues.

Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis surrendered four runs -- two earned -- on eight hits in six innings against the New York Yankees on Tuesday, June 21. He walked one and matched his season high with eight strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Bettis got the better of the Yankees for the second time in a week, and he moved to 6-5 on the year in the process. He's uneven and tends to allow a lot of hits, but he doesn't allow a lot of free passes. Still, Bettis is best suited to NL-only leagues.
