Colorado Rockies SP Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) said his MRI exam confirmed rotator cuff inflammation. He will receive a second opinion from Dr. David Altchek and an anti-inflammatory injection. Kendrick hopes to return at the end of August.
Fantasy Tip: Kendrick ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has no business being on the roster of any owner in a mixed league after he posted a 6.43 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with just 4.7 strikeouts per nine innings in 21 starts.

Colorado Rockies OF Kyle Parker will start for the second straight day Monday, Aug. 3, against the Seattle Mariners. Parker will start in left field and hit eighth in the order against RHP Felix Hernandez.
Fantasy Tip: Parker went 0-for-3 with a walk Sunday, but his only major league hit came back on June 10, in his first ever at-bat. Parker won't be an option Monday, but FantasyScore owners should be monitoring his playing time as the upside will be there once he adjusts.

Fantasy Tip: Arenado ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) went 3-for-8 over the weekend, and he'll receive a slight boost in fantasy value, as he'll have a better chance at receiving an extra at-bat.

Seattle Mariners OF Mark Trumbo is not in the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 3. 1B Jesus Montero is starting at first base and batting seventh against Colorado Rockies SP Eddie Butler Monday. 1B Logan Morrison (thumb) is also out of the starting lineup Monday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Trumbo ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) and Morrison ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday. Montero ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) stands as an excellent source of cap relief for FantasyScore contests Monday, albeit a risky one. The former high-end prospect has only played 43 major league games over the past three seasons. Still, the game is at Coors Field, and Montero is 7-for-18 since being recalled.

Colorado Rockies SP Jon Gray, the top prospect in the organization, is scheduled to come up from the minor leagues to make his major league debut against the Seattle Mariners Tuesday, Aug. 4. He was the No. 3 overall pick in 2013 and was 6-6 with a 4.33 ERA in 21 games (20 starts) for Class AAA Albuquerque this season. Gray has 110 strikeouts and just 41 walks. He's also 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA with 38 strikeouts and 13 walks in his last six starts.
Fantasy Tip: Gray definitely has top-of-the-rotation stuff and can make an immediate impact for fantasy owners in all leagues down the stretch. However, consistency has been an issue for him this year and it could be compounded at the major league level, especially at home in Coors Field. Consider him a pretty risky option in daily games tomorrow in his debut.

Fantasy Tip: Saturday's absence was an off day for Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap), but he looks healthy moving forward. The only concern is you may want to see how his bat and speed adjusts to the altitude of Coors Field, but there should be little problem.

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 2, against the St. Louis Cardinals. OF Kyle Parker is in left field and OF Brandon Barnes is in right, while OF Charlie Blackmon covers center.
Fantasy Tip: This appears to be a normal day off for Gonzalez ($5,100, 10.2% of cap), so there are no worries. Leave him off your roster.

Fantasy Tip: Kendrick ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has been a favorite pitcher of FantasyScore owners for stacking purposes. He carries no positive fantasy value, and he can be dropped if still owned.
Sun, 02 Aug 2015 06:38:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Arenado ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) did hit nine doubles last month, so his power numbers remain high. Owners shouldn't have any doubts about Arenado's elite value.
Sun, 02 Aug 2015 06:22:55 -0700
Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa improved to 7-2 with a 3.41 ERA in nine starts against the St. Louis Cardinals since joining the Rockies in 2008. De La Rosa allowed two runs and seven hits over 6 2/3 innings Saturday, Aug. 1.
Fantasy Tip: De La Rosa ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) had allowed six earned runs in each of his two previous games, so FantasyScore owners will need to see a few more quality outings before investing.
Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:51:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has hit four home runs against righties this season, but he is hitting just .208, and he should be avoided against Lynn.
Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:45:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McKenry ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) doesn't have a multi-hit game or an extra-base hit since June 27, and he doesn't need to be considered for FantasyScore purposes.
Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:35:52 -0700
Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes isn't in the starting lineup Saturday, Aug. 1, against the St. Louis Cardinals. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop and hit eighth in the lineup against RHP Lance Lynn, while 2B DJ LeMahieu will start at second base and hit second in the order.
Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has had at least one hit in all but one game since July 3. He doesn't have a home run in that span, but he has hit five doubles, and he has 11 multi-hit games. LeMahieu will continue to be a strong FantasyScore option.
Sat, 01 Aug 2015 11:40:46 -0700
Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss has removed RP John Axford from the closer's role for the time being. He has allowed runs in five consecutive appearances, blowing four saves during that stretch. The team is expected to use a closer-by-committee approach for the foreseeable future.
Fantasy Tip: It is uncertain if or when Axford will return to ninth-inning duties. For now, RPs Rafael Betancourt, Tommy Kahnle and Justin Miller could see save opportunities for Colorado.
Sat, 01 Aug 2015 07:41:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) likely will miss several weeks because of the broken ribs. Drew Stubbs ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) and Brandon Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) likely will receive some starts while Dickerson is out, but neither is a must-start option in FantasyScore.
