Detroit Tigers OF Cameron Maybin went 3-for-4 with two RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base and a walk versus the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, July 1. He extended his hitting streak to seven games and is batting .500 (14-for-28) with nine RBI during the stretch.
Fantasy Tip: Maybin is batting .369 through 40 games this season and should be owned in the majority of mixed fantasy leagues due to his ability to help out in categories such as batting average, runs scored and steals. He also makes a productive yet relatively inexpensive outfield option for daily fantasy games.

Fantasy Tip: The 37-year-old Martinez is batting .324 with 16 home runs and 49 RBI through 77 games and remains a strong starting option in all fantasy formats.

Fantasy Tip: Fulmer is 6-1 with an 0.53 ERA over his last eight starts and is the first Detroit starting pitcher since 1913 to allow one run or fewer in eight consecutive outings. His next scheduled start will come against the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, July 6, and he remains a must-start option in all fantasy formats.

Fantasy Tip: Moya has become the regular in right field with J.D. Martinez hurt, but he'll take a seat against the southpaw. Aviles is hitting only .215 on the year with a homer and six RBI, so his offensive profile is limited. Consider him a deep sleeper in DFS tonight.

Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann allowed five runs, four earned, on nine hits while walking two and striking out three over six innings in a no-decision against the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday, June 30, and he has allowed four or more runs in four of his last five starts.
Fantasy Tip: Don't give up on Zimmermann, but don't be afraid to pick and choose when you start him until he is back on track.

Fantasy Tip: Maybin has seven RBI during his current six-game hitting streak. His .359 average isn't going to last, but he should be owned in most mixed leagues as a solid source of runs and steals.

Detroit Tigers SP Michael Fulmer (arm) has felt good after throwing a bullpen session and playing catch the past few days after previously dealing with some arm fatigue. Manager Brad Ausmus said after Fulmer starts against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, July 1, he will pitch on regular rest against the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, July 6. Ausmus noted Fulmer will then rest until the fifth game following the All-Star break before starting again, which will be against the Minnesota Twins Tuesday, July 19.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners will have to be diligent with Fulmer's upcoming schedule and keep tabs on his status, especially in weekly setups. However, when on the bump, he's a must-start hurler in all matchups after starting his career with a 2.40 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 8.5 K/9 over his first 11 starts.

Fantasy Tip: Salty went 3-for-3 with a home run and double Wednesday afternoon, and he could see more starts moving forward if he stays hot. However, he's barely hitting .206 on the year despite notable pop occasionally. He's more of a low-end daily pick and appeals only to owners desperate for a catcher in two-catcher and AL-only leagues.

Detroit Tigers OF Steven Moya continued his awesome showing in June by delivering his fourth home run of the month Wednesday, June 29, against the Miami Marlins. The 24-year-old went 1-for-4 on the day with a run scored and an RBI.
Fantasy Tip: Moya was recalled only a couple of weeks ago, but he's simply been outstanding for the Tigers ever since. In fact, he's registered at least one hit in seven of his eight games this month, and all of his homers this season have come in June. Now that he's carved out a regular role in Detroit's lineup, owners should start consider adding Moya, even outside deep formats.

Detroit Tigers SP Daniel Norris secured his first win in his second start of the season Wednesday, June 29, opposite the Miami Marlins. The youngster had to labor through five innings, throwing 100 pitches, but managed to surrender only a pair of runs on eight hits and one walk. He also struck out eight.
Fantasy Tip: Overall, a fine outing for the 23-year-old other than the amount of baserunners scattered, as he continues to get settled in again after only recently returning from injury. There could be some value here, with Norris having a really good offense backing him, plus owners should consider that he was the main piece in the David Price deal a year ago, meaning he'll get plenty of opportunities to succeed. If he gets in a consistent rhythm, Norris can be a very useful arm for most fantasy squads.

Fantasy Tip: Salty does have seven home runs and 20 RBI on the year in limited time behind the plate, but he's batting a putrid .187 on the season. He has pop but is a lottery ticket in DFS action as a deep sleeper pick to save salary cap space.
Wed, 29 Jun 2016 08:45:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moya was on a tear with a 5-for-10 (.500) stretch with two homers, and he's a midrange option against Tom Koehler.
Tue, 28 Jun 2016 21:11:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera has been in a bit of a slump for about a week after lighting it up the previous week, although he does have five home runs in the second half of this month after not hitting any over the first 15 days of the month. The 2013 AL MVP is just a homer shy of tying his total from last year's injury-plagued campaign and it seems like a good bet his average, which stands at .295 at the moment, will crawl back over .300 again in no time.
Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:26:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Castellanos wasn't interested in running up pitch counts tonight either, as he saw only nine. The 24-year-old is already one home run shy of matching his career high set last year, while his .302/.337/.526 slash line would top each of his previous personal-best marks by a wide margin. His breakout season is upon us, and owners should go along for the ride.
Tue, 28 Jun 2016 12:31:53 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Aviles has a .533 OPS this season and should be viewed as a depth player in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats. Moya hasn't played since sustaining a knee injury Friday, June 24, and at this point, he should be left to similar deep leagues.
