Houston Astros 1B Chris Carter is not in the starting lineup Monday, April 20. SS Marwin Gonzalez is starting at first base and hitting seventh in the batting order against Seattle Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma.
Fantasy Tip: Carter ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is likely receiving a breather after recording just three hits in his first 40 at-bats (.075) of the season. Gonzalez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) already has one homer this year, but even against struggling Iwakuma, he's on the low-end of the shortstop spectrum for FantasyScore players, especially in a pitcher's park tonight.

Fantasy Tip: While batter vs. pitcher statistics shouldn't be viewed as guaranteed predictors of success, it is worth noting Altuve ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has performed well against Iwakuma. However, Altuve also carries a hefty salary at FantasyScore, so you'll have to budget accordingly to fit him into your lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($6,000, 12% of cap) got off to a dismal start at the plate, but he has been warming up as of late. No one should have been upset, because a lot of bats take time to get going in April. Keep playing Altuve in your lineup.

Houston Astros OF George Springer hit his first home run of the season against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Saturday, April 18. Springer is hitting just .150 so far this season, and he has struck out in 36.2% of his plate appearances.
Fantasy Tip: Springer ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) was a feast or famine hitter last season, and fantasy owners are hoping they're bellies aren't grumbling much longer. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come, and don't forget how quickly Springer's counting stats can add up. After a slow start last season, he went 20-for-73 with 20 runs, 10 home runs, 23 RBI and a .315/.432/.795 slash line through a 19-game stretch. See if there are any hasty fantasy owners out there and test the trade waters. Also, don't be afraid to take a calculated risk on Springer in FantasyScore contests.

Oakland Athletics 2B Ben Zobrist (heel) will not play against the Houston Astros Wednesday, April 15. Manger Bob Melvin said Zobrist could play through his minor heel injury, but with a day off Thursday, April 16, it is an opportunity to give Zobrist two days of rest.
Fantasy Tip: Remove Zobrist ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) from your lineups Wednesday. Eric Sogard ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will man the keystone position and bat eighth in Zobrist's absence, but FantasyScore players should aim higher than Sogard Wednesday.

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics left-handed SP Drew Pomeranz Wednesday, April 15. OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and hitting seventh in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: Grossman ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't give daily gamers at FantasyScore much confidence against Pomeranz, especially since the Astros as a whole have struggled to put together much of anything offensively. Grossman hit just .216 with one of his six home runs against southpaws in 2014.

Oakland Athletics 2B Ben Zobrist is not in the starting lineup against the Houston Astros Wednesday, April 15. 2B Eric Sogard is starting at second base and hitting eighth in the batting order against Astros SP Collin McHugh.
Fantasy Tip: Sogard ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) won't give you much offensive firepower at FantasyScore, especially hitting low in the lineup. He also only hit .228 with one home run in 250 at-bats against right-handers in 2014. Look elsewhere Wednesday night.

Fantasy Tip: Peacock should be given a game or two to shake off the rust and build up his stamina before FantasyScore owners pay him any mind.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 21:49:09 -0700
Houston Astros SP Asher Wojciechowski was listed as the probable starter for Tuesday, April 14, against the Texas Rangers, but he was needed out of the bullpen Monday, April 13, and then demoted to Triple-A Fresno after the game.
Fantasy Tip: Wojciechowski’s rotation spot will be filled by Brad Peacock (hip), who will come back from the 15-day disabled list to start Tuesday.

Houston Astros C/OF Evan Gattis had his first hit Monday, April 13, since Sept. 6 of last year. It snapped a skid of going 0-for-37 with 17 strikeouts, including an 0-for-23 slump with 13 strikeouts this year.
Fantasy Tip: Gattis' ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) slow start to 2015 is concerning for his owners. Hopefully his hit Monday night can spark him, but a matchup against A's starter Kendall Graveman may be another tough matchup for Gattis at FantasyScore Tuesday.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 14:45:54 -0700
Houston Astros C Jason Castro is not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics left-handed SP Scott Kazmir Monday, April 13. C Hank Conger is starting behind the plate and batting eighth in the batting order.
Fantasy Tip: Conger ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is a switch hitter, but he hit just .188 with one RBI in 16 at-bats against lefties in 2014. He should be avoided in all daily games tonight.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 14:42:52 -0700
Houston Astros SS Jed Lowrie is not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics left-handed SP Scott Kazmir Monday, April 13. SS Jonathan Villar is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Villar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be considered a weak play Monday going against Kazmir, who was very sharp in his first outing of the 2015 season last week.
Mon, 13 Apr 2015 14:36:13 -0700
Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics left-handed SP Scott Kazmir Monday, April 13. OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and batting second in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Grossman ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is not an attractive option at FantasyScore Monday night.
Sun, 12 Apr 2015 15:40:30 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($6,000, 12% of cap) should not panic and neither should fans. Keep playing him, as Altuve should snap out of the slump before too long.
Sun, 12 Apr 2015 10:03:33 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Carter ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has struggled so far this season, so he is sitting out Sunday. Carter should return to the lineup in the next game and should be an option on FantasyScore because of his power potential.
