Fantasy Tip: In Rasmus' last 10 games he's 14-for-37 (.378) with two home runs, four RBI and seven runs scored. It's a nice run for the free-swinging outfielder, but it's not enough to elevate him past AL-only/deep mixed fodder.

Fantasy Tip: Entering play on Friday, Springer had been mired in a slump, going 9-for-64 (.141) with two home runs and six RBI in his previous 16 games. That came on the heels of a torrid hot streak, though, and given his power/speed combination, Springer is someone to keep in your lineup even when he's struggling.

Fantasy Tip: Staked to a nine-run lead before he ever took the hill, Keuchel just pounded the strike zone, posting a season-low two K's in the process. It was the southpaw's first win since May 28 (and second since April 15), and it broke a three-game losing streak. Still, coming a 20-win season, Keuchel continues to be one of the most disappointing fantasy performers in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Valbuena went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored before exiting Friday's contest and should be considered day-to-day. He is batting .248 with eight homers and 22 RBI through 64 games this season.

Fantasy Tip: Reed is hitting .266 with 11 home runs and 36 RBI in 59 games with Fresno. He probably will receive most of the starts at first base moving forward and should be added in all AL-only leagues and most deeper mixed leagues.

The Houston Astros have signed Alamo Heights High School P Forrest Whitley, the No. 17 pick overall in the 2016 MLB draft. He will receive a $3,148,000 million bonus, which is well above the slot value of $2,504,200.
Fantasy Tip: Whitley went 9-1 with a 0.31 ERA during his senior year, with 126 strikeouts over 68 innings. The 18-year-old right-hander should be on the radar of owners in dynasty fantasy leagues.

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve continued his 2016 power surge by hitting his 12th home run of the season Wednesday, June 22, versus the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He finished the day 1-for-2 with a run scored, an RBI, and also drew two walks.
Fantasy Tip: Remarkably, Altuve had 15 homers all of last season, and before that, he had never even socked double-digit dingers in a single campaign. He also now has 41 RBI -- easily putting him on pace for a career high as well -- as he continues to be one of the most valuable players in all of fantasy baseball. His owners can continue to look forward to viewing his stats on a daily basis.

Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers recorded a no-decision in his start Wednesday, June 22, opposite the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The right-hander went 5 2/3 innings, yielding one run on six hits and three walks. He also struck out six.
Fantasy Tip: McCullers is really getting settled in again like he was last year, which is good to see after he missed the first month and change of 2016. Although he allowed more baserunners than fantasy owners would want to see, today's outing goes in the books as the fifth instance in eight tries this season in which he has given up two runs or less. McCullers appears to be trending up right now and is worth riding in many formats as a result.

Fantasy Tip: Correa has enjoyed Halos pitching, going 4-for-7 with a double, two homers and six RBIs in the first two games of the series. He has three homers over the past five games. He has struggled a bit with the batting average, but he makes up for it with solid power numbers from the shortstop position.

Fantasy Tip: McHugh started out rather slowly this season, but he lowered his ERA to a season-best 4.70 after this quality start. He is slowly re-emerging as a solid play in AL-only fantasy leagues and some deeper mixed formats and DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: A six-game hitting streak doesn't sound like much, but it was actually a season high for Gomez. He has struggled, but remains a decent play in AL-only fantasy leagues and DFS play for his power potential.

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus and C Jason Castro are not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago Tuesday, June 21. C Evan Gattis will start at catcher, while 2B Danny Worth will serve as the designated hitter and is batting sixth. OF Jake Marisnick will start in left field and is batting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Worth and Marisnick are both hitting under .212 so far this season and have six RBI combined. Owners in all leagues should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Gomez has hit safely in a season-high six games, raising his average from .181 to .222 just since June 12. He has re-emerged as a must-start in AL-only fantasy leagues and some deeper mixed formats.
Mon, 20 Jun 2016 23:03:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Correa has struggled with the batting average this season, but he has nine runs scored, two doubles, three triples, two homers and nine RBIs in the month of June. He remains a must-start fantasy option across the board despite his mediocre batting average.
Mon, 20 Jun 2016 23:02:56 -0700
Houston Astros SP Doug Fister allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over seven innings in a victory against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, June 20. The Astros have won Fister's past 10 starts, and he has lasted at least 5 2/3 innings while allowing three or fewer runs in each of those outings.
Fantasy Tip: Fister has tied the longest winning streak of his career. He is cruising along with a 3.21 ERA and 1.20 WHIP, re-emerging as a must-start in all fantasy leagues this season.
