Fantasy Tip: McHugh ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) did not face the Royals in the regular season, but he was 7-3 with a 4.05 ERA in 100 innings on the road with 81 strikeouts. He is a decent FantasyScore play opposite Yordano Ventura.

Fantasy Tip: Carter ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is a boom or bust FantasyScore option most nights, as he strikes out a ton but also has prodigious power.

Houston Astros OF Carlos Gomez (intercostal) appeared to tweak his intercostal injury in the wild-card game in the American League Tuesday, Oct. 6, against the New York Yankees. He was lifted for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning.
Fantasy Tip: Gomez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) cracked a solo home run in three at-bats before departing. If he can start Game 1 of the ALDS he is worth a look in FantasyScore, but this could be an injury which lingers on into the offseason.

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel allowed just three singles, a walk and seven strikeouts over six scoreless innings in his first-career playoff start in the wild-card game in the American League Tuesday, Oct. 6, against the New York Yankees. He was pitching on three days' rest for the first time in his career.
Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,500, 19.0% of cap) did not allow one run over 22 innings against the Yankees in three starts this season, striking out 28 and walking just two. Next up hee'll face the Kansas City Royals in the ALDS. He was 1-1 with a 3.07 ERA in two starts against the Royals this season with 12 strikeouts over 14 2/3 innings.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) is by far the best to choose from at his position on FantasyScore in the wild-card tilts, but he'll cost you a pretty penny.

Fantasy Tip: Gomez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been disappointing since his trade to the Astros, hitting .242 (36-for-149) with four home runs and 13 RBI in 41 games, and he hasn't played a full game since Sept. 12 because of injury. There's plenty of risk here as a contrarian play.

Fantasy Tip: Gomez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has started only one game since Sept. 12 when he was injured, so there is plenty of risk surrounding him on FantasyScore. However, he's facing one of the best pitching matchups in the wild-card contests if you're looking to save a little money in your outfield.

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel will start the wild card game in the American League Tuesday, Oct. 6, against the New York Yankees. He tossed 16 scoreless innings against the Yankees in two starts this season with just one walk and 21 strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,500, 19.0% of cap) has a heavy price tag, but given his success against the Yankees, and the fact New York is 3-7 in their past 10 games against left-handed starters and 1-4 in their past five against AL West foes, Keuchel is worth a roll of the dice.

Houston Astros OF Carlos Gomez (intercostal) said he plans to play in the wild-card game Tuesday, Oct. 6, against the New York Yankees. "Yeah, definitely I'll be ready in New York," Gomez said. "You know because, that game means a lot for us. No matter what, I'm going to be ready. That's what we planned, the whole last five days made me feel better so I can be more 100% to do my best in New York."
Fantasy Tip: Gomez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is 2-for-2 lifetime against Masahiro Tanaka and is at a friendly price on FantasyScore.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 12:17:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lowrie ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is starting for the first time since Tuesday, Sept. 29. He is batting just .198 with five home runs and 20 RBIs since the All-Star break, after hitting .300 during the first half of the season. FantasyScore owners should avoid using him for now.

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 with two runs, a double, a home run and two RBI during the Astros' 6-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Saturday, Oct. 3. It was Aluve's 40th double and 15th home run of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) hasn't been quite as dominant in 2015, but he more than doubled his previous career high of seven home runs, which helps the dip in stolen bases and batting average. Continue to view him as a high-end option at the keystone in all fantasy formats, and the billing won't change heading into the 2016 season.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players should take advantage of Springer's ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) high-end current form and the value his salary presents. It was the fifth consecutive game he posted multiple hits, and he owns the upside to tilt the scales across all fantasy categories.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 01:23:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McHugh ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) finished just shy of becoming the second 20-game winner on the Astros staff this season. He will be one of the Astros' top pitchers in 2016 and should be ranked fairly high on your offseason board.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 01:11:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has recovered nicely after a weak July and August. He hit .260 in September and has done well in the last week of the season. He rates as a backup outfielder in most fantasy leagues, the type of player you'd draft for the bench in case someone got hurt.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 16:03:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has a .357-2-6 line the last week and is a solid FantasyScore option against Jeremy Hellickson.
