Fantasy Tip: Conger ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has one home run this season through only 21 plate appearances. Being a switch-hitter doesn't give Conger much of an extra boost as he's only a career .224-hitter against righties. That said, all 18 of Conger's career home runs have come off right-handers, so there is some potential for upside for FantasyScore owners deciding to punt the catcher position.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has a .244 batting average through his first 42 plate appearances of the season. Gonzalez is a career .255-hitter against righties and goes up against Taijuan Walker of the Mariners. FantasyScore owners should avoid Gonzalez, but if desperate for cap space, Gonzalez will have upside while batting sixth in the order.

Houston Astros SS prospect Carlos Correa, who is batting .385 with five home runs and 22 RBI at Double-A Corpus Christi, needs more seasoning before coming up to the major leagues, according to general manager Jeff Luhnow. "Carlos is getting close, but he's had 70 at-bats above A-ball, so we'd like to see more," Luhnow said.
Fantasy Tip: Correa is the team's top minor league prospect and is probably already owned in all keeper and deep NL-only leagues. However, he broke his leg last year and needs more time in the minors, especially since he hasn't even appeared at Class AAA. With Jed Lowrie out and the Astros playing great ball, there's no need for Houston to rush him up. Marwin Gonzalez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will hold down the fort at the 6 for now, and he's a low-end flyer at FantasyScore in the right matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,400, 6.8% of your cap) is an excellent outfielder atop the low-end tier on FantasyScore.

Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 3-for-5 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners Thursday, April 30, and he has recorded multiple hits in eight straight games.
Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has scored eight runs and driven in eight during the stretch, and he is a must-start at FantasyScore right now.

Houston Astros OF Colby Rasmus is not in the starting lineup against a left-hander Thursday, April 30. OF Robbie Grossman is starting in left field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Seattle Mariners SP James Paxton.
Fantasy Tip: Grossman ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .156 (5-for-32) with a home run and five RBI in limited duty for the 'Stros this year. Paxton has struggled so far this year, but Grossman remains a weak option at FantasyScore, especially while hitting ninth.

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel allowed three hits and an earned run with four strikeouts over eight innings against the San Diego Padres in the Astros' 7-2 win Wednesday, April 29. The win improved Keuchel's record to 3-0 for the season.
Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) now owns a 0.73 ERA for the season, and has emerged as a reliable fantasy option. The only thing keeping him from garnering more recognition as a high-end starter is his lack of strikeouts. Continue to consider Keuchel for FantasyScore usage, especially in favorable matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Altuve ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) is proving why he was a top pick in fantasy drafts this spring, and he is also an excellent FantasyScore option, while he is living on base. Don't expect more than the odd tally in the home run column, but he moves the needle significantly in the other four categories.

Houston Astros C Jason Castro is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 29. C Hank Conger receives the start and is hitting eighth in the batting order against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner.
Fantasy Tip: Conger ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has very little offensive upside, especially while playing at hitter-friendly Petco Park against a serviceable pitcher. Avoid him at FantasyScore today.

Houston Astros C/OF Evan Gattis is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 29. OF Colby Rasmus is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the batting order, while OF Jake Marisnick returns to the lineup and gets a start in center field.
Fantasy Tip: Rasmus ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Marisnick ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) face somewhat of a tough matchup against San Diego Padres starter Andrew Cashner, who has been exceptional at home. However, it might be hard to ignore the hot sticks of both outfielders as they look to sweep the Padres Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: The team has every reason to be patient with the 20-year-old Correa. However, Jed Lowrie (thumb) is out until the All-Star break and it's not out of the question that his arrival date could be expedited. Keep him on your watch list in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: It's a tough break for a hitter that was on fire to start the year, hitting .300 (18-for-60) with four home runs and 10 RBI. It'll be hard for the Astros to replace his production at shortstop, but Marwin Gonzalez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will give it his best shot. Jonathan Villar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could also factor in. Gonzalez should be an AL-only target in deep leagues.
Tue, 28 Apr 2015 16:23:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Marisnick is the odd-man out with no designated hitter in a National League park. Rasmus ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) had a big night Monday with a home run and three RBI. However, San Diego Padres starter Tyson Ross doesn't present the greatest of matchups for Rasmus or the entire Houston lineup.
Tue, 28 Apr 2015 15:36:53 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Correa is now hitting .400/.468/.800 for Corpus Christi. The Astros insist they'll be patient with the top prospect, but he's certainly making it difficult for them to keep him in the minor leagues with his hot start. Owners in AL-only, deeper mixed leagues or keeper leagues can go ahead and stash Correa now.
Tue, 28 Apr 2015 14:57:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Marwin Gonzalez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is the likely replacement at shortstop for Lowrie while he recovers on the DL. Gonzalez should be a target in AL-only leagues for a middle infield spot, especially if you own Lowrie. Gonzalez, however, isn't an ideal shortstop option for FantasyScore users tonight against San Diego Padres starter Tyson Ross.
