Fantasy Tip: Holland was unavailable Tuesday, May 19, due to a stiff neck. Now that he is back in the saddle, he should be started with confidence in all formats and remains a high-end closer.

Fantasy Tip: Vargas ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) appears to be making progress in his recovery but likely will make at least one rehab start before he is able to return to the rotation. Owners on FantasyScore should ignore Vargas until he is able to pitch for the Royals again.
Tue, 19 May 2015 21:36:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games and has a .331 batting average so far this season. Moustakas could be a solid starting option at third base for owners on FantasyScore.
Tue, 19 May 2015 21:28:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ventura ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) had struggled in his previous three starts but pitched very well against Cincinnati. Ventura is scheduled to face the New York Yankees in his next start and may be a risky option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Holland must be kept on season-long rosters regardless of whether he ends up on the disabled list. That's a worst-case scenario at this point, as the injury doesn't sound overly serious. The Royals will play it safe with one of the best closers in the game, and owners should expect a few more nights off.
Tue, 19 May 2015 17:15:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rios ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has the potential to represent a rare power bat in the Royals lineup. For the first time since his rookie season in 2004, Rios failed to hit double-digit home runs in 2014, finishing the season with just four homers for the Texas Rangers. Rios has stolen at least 11 bases in all 11 of his major league seasons. Rios could quickly become the most appealing FantasyScore option in the Royals lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has a 2-3 record and 5.87 ERA, but he also has a minor league option remaining. When Jason Vargas comes off the disabled list, Duffy could be odd man out. Keep an eye on Duffy's matchups and start him accordingly, but be prepared to remove him should no improvement take place.
Sun, 17 May 2015 08:08:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gordon ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) may be sitting because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher, but he should be back in the lineup soon. Orlando ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) does have four hits in his last three games, but owners on FantasyScore may be able to find better options to use.
Fri, 15 May 2015 21:09:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cain ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is hitting .326 on the year with 26 runs scored, and while the RBI production was a bit of an anomaly, his steady bat makes him a solid mid-level option at FantasyScore most nights.
Fri, 15 May 2015 13:53:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Vargas ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has pitched poorly this season with a 5.26 ERA, a 1.48 WHIP and a 4.9 K/9. Until he returns and strings together a few nice starts, he cannot be trusted in any fantasy format, but especially FantasyScore contests. Continue to check back for updates.
Thu, 14 May 2015 18:25:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Escobar ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is hitting .318 for the year, and he has six RBIs and has scored six runs over his past six games. He should continue to offer solid production for the price at FantasyScore as long as he is leading off for a Kansas City team ranked in the top three in batting average and runs scored.

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Rios (hand) is starting to hit balls off a tee and did some long toss Thursday, May 14, as he works his way back from a broken bone in his left hand. Manager Ned Yost said Rios is "definitely making progress" and is on schedule.
Fantasy Tip: With Rios out, Jarrod Dyson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) and Paulo Orlando ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) have performed a platoon in right field. Neither is playing particularly well, though, and both are nothing more than low-end desperation outfield plays at FantasyScore for their speed.
Thu, 14 May 2015 07:58:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butera ($1,600, 3.2% of your cap) isn't an option you should use on FantasyScore.
Thu, 14 May 2015 07:54:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Dyson ($2,400, 4.8% of your cap) is hitting just .204 this season and isn't more of a traditional league option for his steals than a daily option on FantasyScore.
Wed, 13 May 2015 08:43:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hosmer ($5,200, 10.4% of your cap) has a .326-6-27 line on the young season and has started to become the offensive force he was projected to be. Hosmer is worth the price on FantasyScore.
