Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana (shoulder) was scratched Tuesday, May 3, with right shoulder tightness. SS Jonathan Villar takes his place atop the lineup, and OF Alex Presley has moved up to the second spot.
Fantasy Tip: Villar is hitting .364 the last week, and he has swiped a base in three straight games. He's a lower-middle option against lefty Hector Santiago today. The left-handed Presley isn't a good option, however.

Fantasy Tip: Braun has a big .382-3-12 line in 55 home at-bats, and he pounds lefties. He takes on lefty Hector Santiago today, and he's a high-end DFS option.

Fantasy Tip: Carter hit two homers Sunday as well and has his average up to .287 with nine homers and 21 RBI. If you're a sell-high kind of person, now is the time to do it on the career .221 hitter. We don't see him sustaining the average, but a big season in Miller Park isn't out of the question.

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett (oblique) is doing well a week after straining his oblique. It seems like the 15-day stint on the disabled list should be enough. His potential need for rehab is still to be determined.
Fantasy Tip: Gennett has some value when he's ready to return, as he was hitting at the top of the lineup and playing decently before going down with injury. He's also flashed some power as well, having already launched four home runs. Unfortunately, he only has five RBI to show for that, but he can be a useful hitter in deeper leagues.

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is being rested with general soreness Tuesday, May 3. Manager Craig Counsell thinks resting Braun occasionally this year will keep him productive after he underwent offseason surgery to fix a herniated disc in his back. Braun has two straight three-hit games and has raised his average to .372 with five home runs, 21 RBI and a 1.048 OPS.
Fantasy Tip: If Braun stays healthy all year he could return to the 30-home mark. Because many owners were skeptical of Braun coming off offseason surgery, he likely came at a nice discount in drafts. He's rewarding those that saw the opportunity at value in 2016.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and 3B Aaron Hill are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 3. OF Ramon Flores is starting in left field and hitting seventh, while 3B Colin Walsh is starting at the hot corner and batting sixth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Nick Tropeano.
Fantasy Tip: Flores and Walsh don't even scratch the surface in terms of fantasy value, so they're both lotto tickets as deep daily sleepers. A weakened Brewers lineup means selecting Tropeano as your second fantasy starter in DFS action is a good strategy.

Fantasy Tip: Santana makes consistent hard contact but doesn't have a lot to show for it yet this year. He is an intriguing fantasy player in both daily and traditional leagues, though, and he should continue to hit atop the Milwaukee order. You may want to avoid him in his first game back after dealing with an injury, though.

Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson allowed two runs and four hits over seven innings in a win Monday, May 2, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and he also had a pair of singles, including an RBI.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson improved to 4-2 with a 3.05 ERA after the quality start, his fourth in six outings this season. He has emerged as a surprising must-start in all NL-only fantasy leagues and some mixed formats as well. His price tag is rising in DFS, but he remains a pretty solid value still.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is dealing with what manager Craig Counsell termed "general soreness," after the game Monday, May 2, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He said Braun may or may not play in the game Tuesday, May 3.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners in daily formats, and those in DFS play, might want to steer clear of Braun until he can officially play again and prove his health in one full game without any setbacks or lingering effects of his soreness.

Updating a previous report, Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana (shoulder) developed some tightness behind his shoulder in the area of his latissimus muscle Monday, May 2, according to manager Craig Counsell. Santana will be re-evaluated Tuesday, May 3.
Fantasy Tip: With Santana sidelined Monday, Alex Presley started and was hitless in four at-bats. He might see regular duty if Santana is forced to the shelf, but that remains to be seen at the moment.

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana (shoulder) was scratched from the starting lineup with right shoulder tightness Monday, May 2. OF Alex Presley is now starting in right field and is hitting in the leadoff spot.
Fantasy Tip: Get Santana out of all daily lineups as quickly as possible. The Brewers are facing soft-tossing Jered Weaver and the Angels Monday night, so Presley could be a low-end deep sleeper worth pursuing in DFS tonight. After all, Presley is 4-for-13 with a homer in limited action for the Brew Crew to start the year, and he's in a favorable lineup spot.

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter ended a three-game hitless drought in a big way on Sunday, May 1, finishing 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, three RBI and three runs scored en route to a 14-5 rout of the Miami Marlins.
Fantasy Tip: Consistency and a high batting average have never been Carter's calling cards, so owners should look to sell high pretty soon on one of the streakier power hitters in the game. With that said, he's been a solid four-category contributor so far, batting .278 with seven home runs, 18 RBI and 15 runs scored. He should remain in lineups against Jered Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels at home on Monday.

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy and OF Ramon Flores are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Sunday, May 1. C Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate and bat eighth, while OF Kirk Niewenhuis plays center field and bats fifth.
Fantasy Tip: Maldonado is hitless through his first 14 at-bats, so he can be ignored from a fantasy standpoint. On the other hand, Nieuwenhuis has three extra-base hits and seven RBI through 34 at-bats and is positioned in a favorable spot in the batting order, so he's worth considering as a value play in daily fantasy games.

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Colin Walsh will bat sixth and play third base against Miami Marlins SP Wei-Yin Chen Saturday, April 30. INF Aaron Hill, who played the hot corner Friday, April 29, will slide over to second base Saturday and bat seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Walsh is 2-for-20 at the plate with eight strikeouts but has walked nine times this year, while Hill is batting just .164 with seven RBI through 61 at-bats. Both players should be avoided in all fantasy formats tonight.
Fri, 29 Apr 2016 11:31:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jungmann struggled mightily in five starts, going 0-4 with a 9.15 ERA while walking 13 and striking out 13 in 20 2/3 innings. He must improve his control before he'll be fantasy relevant and receive another shot at the rotation. Goforth isn't a starter, so stay tuned for who Milwaukee will use to fill the rotation next week.
