Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (back) said Wednesday, Nov. 25, his rehabilitation from back surgery is taking a little longer than expected, but he is progressing. He said he is doing physical therapy four days a week, and he expects to be ready for spring training. "I never do any baseball stuff this early in the offseason," Braun said. "I usually start throwing in about a month and I usually don't start hitting until January. Spring training is long enough for position players so I usually wait until the beginning of the year to start swinging the bat. It shouldn't have much impact on my offseason program at all other than doing a few more rehab exercises. A couple of things I used to do workout-wise I probably won't do any more."
Fantasy Tip: Braun just turned 32 and is coming off a .285-25-84 season with 24 steals, which was the most he has swiped since 2012. His days of .319-41-112 are likely over, but he's still a high-end second outfielder in traditional leagues.

Milwaukee Brewers RP Francisco Rodriguez was traded to the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, Nov. 18, in exchange for 2B Javier Betancourt and a player to be named. The Brewers will have an opening at closer in 2016.
Fantasy Tip: Will Smith and Jeremy Jeffress figure to be on the short list to replace K-Rod as closer in Milwaukee. Smith was very good with a 12.93 K/9, a 2.70 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. He's a lefty, though, and today's game seems to be trending away from lefty stoppers. Jeffress has been a late bloomer after off-the-field issues derailed his early career. He had a 2.65 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and a 8.87 K/9. Corey Knebel could be a dark horse with a 10.37 K rate, a 3.22 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. Watch this situation in camp for a better outlook on which to draft.

Fantasy Tip: Arcia is considered to be one of the top prospects in baseball but his path to the majors is currently blocked by Jean Segura. The 21-year-old hit .307 with 37 doubles, eight home runs, 69 RBIs and 25 steals in 129 games for Class AA Mobile in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: While it seems like Rodriguez has been around forever, he'll enter his age-34 season next year, and he projects to pile on the saves per usual if given the chance. Lucroy is a potential bounce-back candidate after being limited by injuries at multiple points of the 2015 season. Stay tuned for updates on just how many moves the Brewers make this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Lind had a solid season for Milwaukee, and his 2016 option was recently picked up by the Brewers. Fantasy players will want to view him as a low-end first baseman who is worth targeting in the late rounds of drafts next spring. However, a relocation could improve or hurt his value, so stay tuned.

Fantasy Tip: Lind batted .277 with 20 home runs and 87 runs batted in last season, which was very respectable given the Brewers' struggles. Against right-handed hurlers Lind had a .503 slugging percentage. He will be available well into most mixed-league drafts, so you can target him in later rounds.

Fantasy Tip: Lind had a respectable season with 72 runs, 20 home runs, 87 RBI and a .277/.360/.460 slash line, and he was especially strong against right-handed hurlers with a .503 slugging percentage and a .882 OPS. Lind checks out as a low-end first baseman worth targeting late in drafts this spring. However, he is fairly reliable given his .291/.364/.478 slash line over the past three seasons (1411 plate appearances).

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (back) is still in the three- to four-week period of rest following his back surgery, but new general manager David Stearns said Braun is expected to be ready for spring training next year.
Fantasy Tip: Braun played well in 2015 with 25 home runs and 84 RBI in 140 games, but nagging injuries continued to plague him throughout the year, and the back surgery immediately following the season will have owners hesitant to classify him as a top-tier outfielder again in 2016. Know that you're assuming plenty of risk with Braun if you select him in the early rounds.

Fantasy Tip: Davis was used in a platoon in left field with Gerardo Parra for much of the 2015 season and hit .247 with 27 home runs and 66 RBIs over 121 games. Despite being a right-handed batter, his batting average was 48 points versus righties (.260) than lefties (.212). Davis could reach 30 home runs and drive in 70-80 runs next year but expect his average to hover around the .250 mark.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy was slowed by multiple injuries last season, leading to a disappointing stat line of .264-7-43, following a 2014 campaign where he batted over .300 with more than 50 doubles. While his trade value may have diminished in real life due to health concerns and a down year at the plate, NL-only and deep mixed fantasy owners may be able to select him in the middle rounds of drafts next season and get a steal.
Mon, 12 Oct 2015 12:26:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Braun had a bounce-back season in 2015, as he tipped the scales in all standard categories with a .285/.356/.498 slash line, 87 runs, 25 home runs, 84 RBI and 24 stolen bases. His late season injury problems might keep his draft stock down a touch entering the 2016 season, but Braun should be viewed as a No. 1 outfield option worth targeting as soon as the second round of drafts.

Updating previous reports, Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (back) will have a follow-up MRI Wednesday, Oct. 7, and surgery is likely Oct. 8. He's expected to require a month to recover from the surgery.
Fantasy Tip: Braun had his best year since his monster 2012 season with a .285-25-84 line with 24 steals. He turns 32 in two weeks and will still be an upper echelon outfielder next drafting season.

Fantasy Tip: After two rough starts to begin his career, Wagner ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) was a tough luck loser Saturday. It remains to be seen if he will be in the mix for a rotation spot to start 2016, and even if he is, he doesn't need to be drafted in fantasy leagues.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 14:15:12 -0700
Milwaukee Brewers 1B Adam Lind and SS Jean Segura are not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. 1B Jason Rogers and SS Yadiel Rivera draw into the lineup against San Diego Padres SP Ian Kennedy Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: The Milwaukee lineup is lacking significant punch, and so there isn't a lot of reason to target Brewers at FantasyScore Thursday. View Rogers ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) as nothing more than desperation flier.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 12:56:57 -0700
San Diego Padres OF Justin Upton (neck) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Oct. 1. 1B Brett Wallace draws into the lineup and is batting fifth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Taylor Jungmann Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Upton ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) left the game because of a neck strain Wednesday, Sept. 30, and his status for the weekend is unknown at this point. It isn't out of the question to add a healthy replacement in seasonal leagues, especially if your in need of counting stats. Wallace ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) owns a 1.019 OPS against righties this season, so he is a viable low-priced target for FantasyScore players Thursday.
