Korean 1B Byung-ho Park, who has exclusive negotiating rights with the Minnesota Twins, is expected to fly to Chicago to meet with agent Alan Nero before heading to Minnesota to meet with team executives. Park is expected to undergo a physical while visiting the club and could be signed as soon as next week if talks proceed smoothly.
Fantasy Tip: The Twins posted a $12.85 million fee for the opportunity to negotiate with Park, a 29-year-old power-hitting first baseman who is likely to be an option in the middle tier of players at his position during next spring's fantasy drafts. The deadline for Minnesota to reach an agreement with him is Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Soria recovered enough of his mechanics to put him up for a decent, if not spectacular, payday. Among closers, look for Soria to go later in mixed drafts as there is still a chance for tremendous downside.

Fantasy Tip: All indications are Plouffe would be a goner if this situation occurs, and it would likely be to a place where he could get some playing time. His draft status will depend on a trade. If he's still in Minnesota when spring camp opens, Plouffe will go way down.

Fantasy Tip: Sano had a monster rookie year, clubbing 18 home runs and driving in 52 in just 80 games, and his power potential is off the charts. He certainly won't come cheap in fantasy drafts next year, and his stock is rising even more now that he'll gain outfield eligibility in addition to third base in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: The bid was believed to be $12.85 million. Park comes with solid power potential, but the two sides still have 30 days to work out a contract. The 29-year-old will be an option in the middle tier of first basemen in drafts.

Fantasy Tip: Sano will be in the top couple of tiers at third entering drafts next season. Plouffe could be the DH often, but he seems to be without a position right now. What the team does this offseason will make his fantasy value more clear.

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter announced Monday, Oct. 26, that he is retiring from baseball after 19 seasons in the big leagues. "I've been married to the game 23 years," Hunter said. "I put it almost No. 1 in my life. My family kind of second. I made sacrifices for my family. And now it is time to give them more."
Fantasy Tip: Hunter winds up his career with a .277 average, 353 home runs and 1,391 RBIs in 2,372 games. He also finishes up with 2,452 hits, which is 112th among all players in the history of the game.

The Minnesota Twins may be interested in bringing back Atlanta Braves C A.J. Pierzynski, who will be eligible for free agency after the season. He started his major league career with Minnesota in 1998 and played there through the 2003 season.
Fantasy Tip: Pierzynski, who will turn 39 in December, is coming off a year where he batted .300 with nine home runs and 49 RBIs in 113 games. The Twins may be interested in using him in a platoon with Kurt Suzuki, with the left-handed-hitting Pierzynski facing most right-handed pitchers and Suzuki playing against most lefties.

The Minnesota Twins remain interested in bringing OF/DH Torii Hunter back for the 2016 season, although he would likely be used in a reserve role, with OFs Aaron Hicks, Byron Buxton and Eddie Rosario expected to serve as the club's regular outfielders.
Fantasy Tip: The 40-year-old Hunter still hasn't decided if he will come back for his 20th season and a decision is unlikely to be made before next month. He hit .240 with 22 home runs and 81 RBIs over 139 games in 2015, although he hit just .217 after the All-Star break. If he returns, Hunter would likely receive enough at-bats to still be of interest to fantasy owners in AL-only and deep mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Dozier will be one of the top second baseman options in fantasy next season.
Tue, 06 Oct 2015 09:56:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Sano is one of the top young power-hitting players in the game and despite his lack of positional versatility, he will still be targeted in the early rounds of fantasy drafts. Adding outfield eligibility in 2016 would be a huge plus.

Minnesota Twins general manager Terry Ryan admitted that OF Byron Buxton was rushed to the majors this year based on team need. Ryan said he would have like to have Buxton spend more time in the minors.
Fantasy Tip: Does that mean Buxton will open the 2016 season in the minors? It remains to be seen, but the speedy outfielder remains one of the team's top youngsters. He hit only .209 (27-for-129) with 44 strikeouts in his first taste of MLB action. Buxton will come at a discount in fantasy drafts in the mid to later rounds.

Fantasy Tip: Dozier is expected to be fine and will be an upper echelon second baseman in drafts next season.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is being rested since Minnesota was eliminated from playoff contention after losing to the Royals Saturday, Oct. 3, and it is uncertain if he will return for the 2016 season. Kepler ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is 0-for-3 in his major league career.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 12:15:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: With the Twins eliminated from the playoff picture, Nunez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) gets a chance to play the hot corner Sunday. He is batting .281 with four home runs and 20 RBIs through 185 at-bats this year.
