Updating a previous report, New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (hand) was diagnosed with a metacarpal fracture in his right hand. He'll be in a splint for three weeks and can resume baseball activities after that if his injury has healed and he's not dealing with any pain.
Fantasy Tip: You'll want to ignore d'Arnaud at FantasyScore for at least a month. Everywhere else, keep him stashed in a DL slot. There's reason to be worried that his hand injury could sap him of his power, at least shortly after his return. In the meantime, Kevin Plawecki will serve as the starting catcher and will be a cheap matchup play for daily owners.

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (hand) will be placed on the disabled list after fracturing his right hand Sunday, April 19, according to manager Terry Collins. C Kevin Plawecki will be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to take d'Arnaud's roster spot, and Plawecki will take over the starting catching duties, with C Anthony Recker as the backup. It's unknown how long d'Arnaud will be out until after he's examined by a hand specialist Monday, April 20.
Fantasy Tip: It's a shame for d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) owners, as he was off to a fine start in 2015. Plawecki will be making his major league debut for the Mets. He hit .309 with 11 home runs in 376 at-bats in multiple minor league stops in 2014. He'll be a cheap catching option at FantasyScore, but no more than a dice roll as he acclimates to big league pitching.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki ordinarily would have little fantasy value, but his value suddenly climbed due to the injury to d'Arnaud. There are many in the organization that are high on Plawecki's talents, however, so wait and see how he does before picking him up in daily leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Familia needs to be owned in all season-long leagues. Mets RP Bobby Parnell (elbow) is nearing a return, but Familia's strong start to the season should allow the Mets to ease Parnell back into a late-inning role. Fantasy owners should capitalize on Familia's success for as long as it lasts.

Fantasy Tip: This is bad news for a Mets bullpen that was already taxed due to Jenrry Mejia's 80-game suspension. Blevins had some fantasy value because of Mejia's absence, but right now your best bet is to look elsewhere. Buddy Carlyle could save some games.

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (illness) allowed four runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts in six innings Sunday, April 19, and he picked up the win. He admitted to media that he felt weak and had been unable to swallow for the past few days.
Fantasy Tip: Not bad for someone who was sick. Harvey ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) is still rebounding from Tommy John surgery, but he still looked solid in his latest outing. He's a good play as long as Harvey keeps this up.

Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) had gotten off to a good start this season, batting .317 with two home runs and 10 RBIs through 11 games. Anthony Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is expected to become the Mets' everyday catcher during his absence.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 07:58:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tejada ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has not played in the last few days and has only received seven at-bats in 2015. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find a better option to use.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 07:52:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Nieuwenhuis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has not seen many at-bats early this season and is still looking for his first hit. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use in their lineup.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 07:43:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cuddyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has played in every game so far this season and is likely receiving a day off. Kirk Nieuwenhuis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will receive a start but is not the best option for owners on FantasyScore since he has gone hitless in eight at bats.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 07:29:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has played pretty well since taking over at third base. He has posted one RBI in each of his last three games and is coming off a 2-for-3 performance in his last game. Campbell could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 05:39:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: There was no indication Cuddyer's ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) day off is injury related or who will play left field Sunday. Make sure to remove Cuddyer from your fantasy lineups.

Fantasy Tip: If Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is traded or pitches poorly in his next few outings, P Rafael Montero is considered the heavy favorite to move into the starting rotation to replace him. Gee is 0-1 with a 7.59 ERA through two starts this season.
Fri, 17 Apr 2015 20:07:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Colon ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has allowed three earned runs or less and struck out at least five in all three starts, and while he is unlikely to sustain his current pace, there is no reason you can't ride Colon at FantasyScore until he cools off.
Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:32:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Consider Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) a nice low-priced flier for FantasyScore contests if he finds a groove at the plate. He is currently 2-for-8 with two runs and a RBI for the season. Campbell also has fleeting value in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues.
