New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer (knee) is not considered a candidate to be placed on the disabled list, according to manager Terry Collins. He is considered day-to-day after receiving an injection Wednesday, July 1.
Fantasy Tip: John Mayberry Jr. ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) draws into the lineup against lefty Jon Lester Wednesday. FantasyScore players should view Mayberry as a desperation source of cap relief. Continue to check back for updates on Cuddyer who is only a seasonal option in deep mixed formats.

Fantasy Tip: Cuddyer was injured in the game Tuesday, but the severity will not be determined until his test. Avoid him in FantasyScore in the next couple of days just to be on the safe side.

Fantasy Tip: With Cuddyer out, Darrell Cecillani ($1,600; or 3.2% of cap) took over in the outfield. Perhaps he gets a start and is a low-end FantasyScore salary saver in the next day or two. We'll update Cuddyer's status when more details are available.

Fantasy Tip: Granderson ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) can be streaky but still is only a couple years removed from clubbing 40-plus homers in consecutive singles, and he's been helped by a shorter porch in right field at Citi Field this year. He could be another profitable play on FantasyScore tonight against the struggling Kyle Hendricks of the Chicago Cubs.

Fantasy Tip: With Daniel Murphy (quadriceps) back from the DL, Flores ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is expected to become the permanent second baseman, at least until David Wright (back) returns. Ruben Tejada will move to shortstop. Flores has surprising power for a middle infielder (10 home runs), but he's only hitting .238 (61-for-256) on the season and is typically a dice roll on FantasyScore for his power abilities.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) and the Mets are facing Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks tonight. Hendricks has struggled of late, and Murphy is hitting .302 (48-for-159) with all four of his home runs against right-handers this year. Consider Murphy as a sleeper for a value play tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Granderson ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has improved his average from .235 to .264 during the streak, logging five homers, seven RBI and six runs scored. The hot streak won't last forever for the streaky Granderson, but he makes a great lower-priced option at FantasyScore in the meantime.

New York Mets SP Steven Matz won in his major league debut, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out six in 7 2/3 innings against the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, June 28. He also went 3-for-3 with four RBI, becoming the only major league pitcher to record four RBI in their debut.
Fantasy Tip: Matz certainly didn't disappoint, and the highly-touted prospect looks like a worthwhile add in just about every format following his impressive debut.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) will likely slot in at third base until David Wright (back) returns, and he'll be a low-end 2B option on FantasyScore.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets 3B Ruben Tejada (elbow) has a bruise on his left elbow after being hit by a pitch from Cincinnati Reds SP Johnny Cueto Friday, June 26. X-rays came back negative.
Fantasy Tip: It doesn't appear that Tejada ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) will miss much playing time. If he is out of the lineup, 3B Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is the most likely option to play the hot corner, although he won't supply much offense.

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard (3-4) allowed one run on five hits over eight innings in a victory over the Cincinnati Reds Friday, June 26. He walked none and struck out five in the longest outing of his major league career.
Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) topped out at 99 mph on the radar gun and picked up his first victory in his last five starts. He is expected to make his next start against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday, July 3.

Fantasy Tip: The severity of Tejada's ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) injury remains unknown, so check back for further updates on his status. Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) entered play Friday batting .173 in 111 at-bats this season and carries no fantasy value.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (back) remains in Los Angeles, receiving treatment for the narrowing of the spinal cavity in his lower back. There is no clear timeline for his return, according to general manager Sandy Alderson. "I think he's making progress with his rehab, but he hasn't transitioned to baseball activity," Alderson said Friday, June 26. "I honestly can't tell you on Monday when I talk to him again that he will have transitioned to baseball activity. It's something where we just have to wait and see."
Fantasy Tip: At this point, fantasy owners should be thrilled to receive any significant contribution from Wright this season, as there is a legitimate chance he stumbles upon his return. Plus, there is no indication when he'll return. For the time being, he is worth stashing in all formats, but expectations should be kept in check.

The New York Mets will impliment a strict six-man pitching rotation for the "foreseeable future," general manager Sandy Alderson said Friday, June 26. Conserving innings is the purpose of the move. "We have to be fairly strict and disciplined about this, because we could get to the end of the season and some of our guys simply won't have any capacity left in our reasonable judgment," Alderson added.
Fantasy Tip: The only area this significantly impacts fantasy players is in weekly leagues, as the Mets' pitchers won't have as many opportunities to have two starts in a single week. Still, it is also in the best interest of fantasy onwers for the young pitching staff to pitch through to the end of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) checks out as a high-risk, high-reward FantasyScore option against the Cincinnati Reds Friday, especially with Johnny Cueto opposing him. Seasonal owners should consider benching Syndergaard until he returns to form, too.
