New York Mets SP Steven Matz (elbow) allowed six runs, all in the fifth inning, on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Atlanta Braves Friday, June 24, and he said afterward that he is still dealing with tightness in his elbow.
Fantasy Tip: Matz has struggled a bit recently, and his elbow could certainly be a factor. Stay the course in season-long leagues, but he is a risky DFS play right now.

Fantasy Tip: Loney won't provide much power, but he is hitting .305 and is worth a look in NL-only formats thanks to his solid average.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes is worth ownership in the majority of seasonal leagues because of his stolen base prowess. However, he posted an underwhelming .274/.310/.378 slash line last year and played his home games at two great hitter's parks (Rogers Centre and Coors Field). Reyes will also need a rehab stint to catch up to speed, so he might not be back until after the All-Star break.

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey's fastball was clocked in the mid-90s in his start against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, June 23. He allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey's recent rebound continued, and he should back in starting lineups across all formats.

Fantasy Tip: Walker has decent pop for a middle infielder, and he is worth owning in most mixed leagues.

Updating an ongoing story, New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes (wrist) was cleared to play Thursday, June 23, but the organization wanted to provide him with a day of rest after receiving a cortisone shot, according to manager Terry Collins.
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes is an excellent outfielder in all fantasy setups, so stash him while he rests his wrist injury. Expect him back sooner than later, which further limits any fleeting value Alejandro De Aza had with Cespedes out.

Fantasy Tip: Matz has battled injuries since debuting in the majors last season, but when on the hill, he delivers. Through his 18 career starts, Matz owns a 2.58 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP and a 8.9 K/9. View him as a No. 2 hurler for your virtual rotation, but he clearly comes with a little more risk than usual Friday.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon (thumb) will throw a bullpen session to test his bruised right thumb Thursday, June 23, and is still expected to start against the Atlanta Braves Sunday, June 26, according to manager Terry Collins.
Fantasy Tip: Colon is having a nice season with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP, but his 56 strikeouts through 81 innings limit his upside. He's a viable own in deep mixed leagues, and this is a nice matchup to start him in all fantasy formats. Just confirm he's over his thumb injury before locking him into lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard is a fantasy ace (2.08 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 10.9 K/9), but you might want to adjust your expectations slightly until he proves his health. View him with slightly more risk than usual for his start against Washington Monday.

Fantasy Tip: With Yoenis Cespedes out with a wrist injury, De Aza should see a nice run of playing time in center field. However, at this point, De Aza is nothing more desperation fantasy option in all setups. He sits with a .165/.224/.241 slash line, after all.

Fantasy Tip: Wheeler's return might creep into August after this setback from Tommy John surgery. He's worth stashing in NL-only leagues.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes (wrist) was diagnosed with a mild sprain of his left wrist, but he should avoid the disabled list. He received a cortisone injection that will likely sideline him a couple of days.
Fantasy Tip: Alejandro De Aza could fill in for Cespedes the next couple of days, but he's hitting just .165 this season. De Aza has minimal fantasy appeal, but Cespedes remains a low-end OF1.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard (elbow) had an MRI reveal no structural damage on his right elbow. He was prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and has been cleared to do his normal work routine. His availability for the start Monday, June 27, is unclear, though.
Fantasy Tip: It's probably safe to say he'll at least be pushed back from his next start, but he appears to have dodged a bullet. Thor has been one of the best pitchers in fantasy this year and remains an SP1 the rest of the way.
Thu, 23 Jun 2016 04:55:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The far more credible rumor is Walker playing third would put an established veteran at the hot corner while 3B David Wright recovers. His .257-14-28 line makes Walker a viable fantasy player in all formats, and the added bonus would be increased position eligibility.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes (hand, wrist) did not travel with the club for their upcoming series against the Atlanta Braves. He will be examined by team orthopedist Dr. David Altchek.
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes had been playing well prior to getting injured, having reached base in five of his last six plate appearances before exiting Wednesday's game in the sixth inning due to discomfort in his left wrist. He is batting .290 with 18 homers and 44 RBI through 65 games and should remain stashed in all formats. If Cespedes is forced to miss multiple games, expect Alejandro De Aza to see the bulk of the playing time in center field.
