Fantasy Tip: With Murphy ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) likely to miss a couple games, both Wilmer Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) or Kelly Johnson ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) could grab more playing time. Murphy was really turning it on at the dish, too, with a .324/.345/.546 slash line, 20 runs, four home runs and 22 RBI over his past 26 games. Continue to check back for updates on Murphy and when he'll return to the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) labored through his start and win against the Philadelphia Phillies last night and dealt with some dehydration, allowing nine hits and four earned runs while walking one and fanning nine in 6 1/3 innings. He should be fine moving forward, but remember, the Mets still plan on skipping one more of his starts this month to keep his innings under a cap for 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Entering play Wednesday, Tejada ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) was hitting .283 in 113 at-bats since the All-Star break, although he has never been known as an offensive threat. Wilmer Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been the better choice at shortstop for FantasyScore purposes.

Fantasy Tip: Harvey's ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) streak of six quality starts came to an end Wednesday and the nine hits allowed were tied for the most he has given up in any outing this season. He will make his next start against the Washington Nationals next week.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets SP Matt Harvey will not be skipped during the final game of the series against the Washington Nationals next week, even though the team plans to skip one of his starts before the end of the regular season.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) would likely make four more starts during the regular season if he gets his turn skipped, in order to keep him within the soft cap of 180-185 innings that the club and medical staff established for him during spring training. However, none of the team's pitchers will operate under an innings limit if the team makes the playoffs.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets 1B Daniel Murphy (quadriceps) was removed from the game as a precautionary measure against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, Sept. 2, due to discomfort in his left quadriceps.
Fantasy Tip: It is uncertain how much time, if any, Murphy ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) will miss. Stay tuned for further updates on his condition.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 17:12:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Entering play Wednesday, Murphy ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) was hitting .298 with three home runs and 20 RBIs over the last four weeks. Check back for further updates on his status.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 15:02:53 -0700
New York Mets SP Matt Harvey gave up just one run in 27 innings in four starts in August, and he has an ERA of 0.52 in his last five starts. He is 5-3 with a 1.34 ERA in his last 12 starts going back to June 16.
Fantasy Tip: Going up against a weak-hitting Phillies team on extra rest seems like a win-win for Harvey ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) tonight on FantasyScore. He's a strong play worth paying up for.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 14:57:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The promising young outfielder is hitting .302 (26-for-86) with four home runs and 15 RBI in 30 games since being called up, and he's become a regular in the lineup. At $3,700, 7.4% of cap on FantasyScore, he's a value pick pretty much on a daily basis in the right matchups.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 14:47:49 -0700
New York Mets SP Jon Niese is slated to face the Washington Nationals next week, and he won't be skipped despite a 9.92 ERA in his last three starts. Niese allowed six runs in five innings in a loss against the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Niese ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has hit a rather bad rough patch, and if it weren't for the Mets' plan to rest their young starters with a six-man rotation, he could have found himself in the bullpen. Avoiding him on FantasyScore against the Nats next week is the smart move.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 14:45:32 -0700
New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores has left the Mets to fly to Venezuela to be with his sick grandfather, but the team expects him to return Friday, Sept. 4. SS Ruben Tejada is starting in Flores' absence against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Fantasy Tip: Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been the better-hitting shortstop than Tejada this season, and he's seen more playing time in the second half of the season. He could be back in the lineup as early as Friday, and he's a nice value pick with plenty of pop at a position where it's hard to find it.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 13:24:04 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Duda ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) sported a .304/.389/.587 slash line through his 13 games prior to the injury, so as long as he doesn't skid too much initially, he stands to have a strong final few weeks of the season. You'll want to be careful with him at FantasyScore, too.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 12:18:05 -0700
New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 2. 2B Kelly Johnson is starting at the keystone and hitting seventh against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Nola, while 2B Daniel Murphy moves over to first base.
Fantasy Tip: Eleven of Johnson's ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) 12 home runs this year have come against right-handed pitchers, so he's worth a look on FantasyScore as a value pick tonight.
Wed, 02 Sep 2015 11:49:21 -0700
New York Mets SP Matt Harvey could be skipped again in the rotation, but it'll depend on where the team is in the standings, according to pitching coach Dan Warthen. Harvey has thrown 160 innings this year and will be capped in the 185-190 range. Warthen also would prefer to skip SP Jacob deGrom once before the end of the season. He has thrown 163 innings in 2015 after throwing 178 2/3 frames last year.
Fantasy Tip: Obviously you would never outright dump Harvey ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) or deGrom ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) in any leagues, but them missing any further starts knocks down their fantasy value a bit to close out the year. Any rest they get should make them a stronger start on FantasyScore, though.

Fantasy Tip: Mets fans are not pleased with Parnell, but he is working back from major injury. He will not work in high leverage situations, so avoid him even in standard fantasy formats until he builds up his stamina.
