New York Mets SP Dillon Gee was charged with three runs (two earned) in six and one-third innings Wednesday, May 27, in his final rehab start. Gee allowed five hits and two walks, but he recorded four strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) will be the sixth member of the Mets' rotation upon his return to the major leagues. Gee's low strikeout rate makes him a rather unappealing option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is expected to rejoin the Mets' lineup late next week, and they sorely need his offense. The fact that d'Arnaud was able to catch seven innings is more impressive and more meaningful than the 0-for-3 day at the plate. d'Arnaud should be picked up in standard, mixed leagues.
Wed, 27 May 2015 17:14:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Duda ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has recorded at least one hit in 11 of his last 13 games and has three home runs in his last three games. Owners on FantasyScore can consider using Duda in their lineup against certain matchups.

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, May 27. He allowed six hits during the game while striking out six batters. Syndergaard also hit his first career home run during the game.
Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has pitched well in all four of his starts since being recalled from the minor leagues. Syndergaard is scheduled to face the San Diego Padres in his next start and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

The New York Mets will use a six-man pitching rotation throughout early to mid-August once SP Dillon Gee is added to the rotation. Gee will join SPs Jacob deGrom, Bartolo Colon, Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard and Jon Niese. The idea is to shave about 30 innings per pitcher and prevent so many arms from going over 200 innings in one season.
Fantasy Tip: This isn't a surprise. With such young arms as Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap), Harvey ($9,100, 18.2% of cap), deGrom ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) and Syndergaard ($6,000, 12.0% of cap), the Mets are interested in preserving the health of pitchers. No pitcher will likely get two starts in a week, which could hurt in yearly leagues, but you will still get one start a week in FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Ruiz ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Wednesday. The 36-year-old backstop is struggling mightily this season with just eight runs, eight RBI and a .252 batting average. At best, he is a fringe fantasy asset in NL-only and two-catcher formats. Rupp ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is even worse, as he has a single run and RBI over 52 plate appearances and a .196/.269/.283 slash line. FantasyScore players will want to aim higher Wednesday.
Wed, 27 May 2015 07:22:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Muno ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) only has one hit over 11 at-bats to start his career, and he only posted a .280/.354/.400 slash line through 30 games with Class AAA Las Vegas before being recalled to the Mets. FantasyScore players should aim higher, as Muno is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief.

Fantasy Tip: Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is expected to be part of a six-man rotation when he returns to the Mets. Owners on FantasyScore may want to see him pitch in a game or two before consider him for their starting lineups.
Tue, 26 May 2015 21:51:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: deGrom ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) has pitched very well throughout the season and has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his 10 starts. deGrom is scheduled to face the San Diego Padres in his next start and could be a good option on FantasyScore.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (back) is likely dealing with a case of lumbar spinal stenosis. If that is the case, Wright will be able to rehab the injury and progress towards a return to baseball, but his timeline is likely to be measured in weeks, not days.
Fantasy Tip: Wright ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) could likely be dropped in all but the deepest of NL-only leagues, but owners should wait until Wright gets an official diagnosis from a specialist this week.

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (finger) caught five innings in an extended spring training game Tuesday, May 26. d'Arnaud went 1-for-3 with a run scored. The Mets plan to have d'Arnaud go on a rehab assignment with Class A St. Lucie and then with Class AAA Las Vegas before he's activated from the disabled list. d'Arnaud could return for next week's series in San Diego, at which point C Kevin Plawecki will be returned to Las Vegas.
Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is worth stashing now in 12-team mixed leagues. The Mets offense sorely needs d'Arnaud to return and pick up where he left off before going on the DL.
Tue, 26 May 2015 15:39:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) isn't a prototypical cleanup hitter, but he gains some daily value with a chance to drive in more runs. He's also hitting .337 (28-for-83) with a homer and 10 RBI this month. You could do much worse than Murphy as a value play against the soft-tossing Williams Tuesday night.
Tue, 26 May 2015 13:33:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) has been suffering from dead arm after he allowed seven earned runs in just four innings in his first bad start of the season his last time out. Harvey will be facing the Miami Marlins this Friday. As one of the worst offensive teams in baseball this year, Harvey should be attractive at FantasyScore, regardless of what he's dealt with recently.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (back) will meet with a back specialist in California to gain more clarity on the back issue that continues to plague him. He will seek treatment for back pain and spinal stenosis, which is the narrowing of the spinal column. General manager Sandy Alderson said Wright will spend a week with Dr. Robert Watkins and his staff, and the team hopes to have an update on Wright's status in two or three days. He hasn't played since pulling his right hamstring April 14. None of the doctors that Wright has seen have recommended surgery as an option, and they think his injuries will heal in the short term. Doctors also determined that Wright didn't suffer a repeat of the stress fracture in his lower back that kept him out for two months in 2011. He has averaged 126 games per year from 2011 through 2014.
Fantasy Tip: Wright's ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) injury has to be a big concern for his owners at this point, since it looks like he'll be out a while longer, and there is no guarantee he'll be able to hit for power once he's back. In the meantime at FantasyScore, Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will continue to man the hot corner, but he's a low-end third base play.

New York Mets C Travis d'Arnaud (finger) is scheduled to play five innings Tuesday, May 26 in extended spring training. He could start an injury rehab stint the following day, move to Class AAA Las Vegas later in the week and rejoin the Mets during a trip to San Diego and Arizona beginning Monday, June 1.
Fantasy Tip: D'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has been out since April 19, and when he does return to the lineup, it is best to take a wait-and-see approach at FantasyScore.
