Fantasy Tip: Clippard was acquired from the Oakland Athletics Monday, but he is not expected to close in Queens like he was previously doing in Oakland. His fantasy value in standard leagues takes a hit as a result, although he is a solid addition in NL-only rotisserie formats for help in the ERA and WHIP categories. He can also be a boon to fantasy owners in leagues which offer holds as a category.

Fantasy Tip: There remains no timetable for Wright ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) to come off the disabled list, though, and there's no guarantee he'll be very productive whenever he does return to the field. Continue stashing him everywhere, but at this point you shouldn't expect much production for him for the rest of 2015.

New York Mets RP Jeurys Familia will remain as the team's closer after the acquisition of RP Tyler Clippard from the Oakland Athletics Monday, July 27, according to a source. Clippard will serve as the setup man.
Fantasy Tip: Despite blowing his first two save chances in the second half, Familia still owns a 1.70 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 27 saves this year, so he's earned plenty of rope in the Mets bullpen. Clippard obviously will lose significant value with this move, but he still has value to his owners in deeper leagues in a setup role, and he could see the occasional save chance, especially if Familia continues to struggle in the second half.

Fantasy Tip: A trade to the Mets would likely ensure Parra ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) everyday playing time for the rest of the season. Taking him away from Miller Park could hurt, but Parra has performed even better on the road (.329/.378/.500 with five of his nine home runs) this year. Khris Davis would benefit the most with regular playing time in Milwaukee if Parra or Gomez are dealt.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear how the bullpen roles will be affected by the acquisition of Clippard, who was closing for the A's. Jeurys Familia was lights out in the first half of the season but has blown both of his save chances since the All-Star break, leaving this situation a bit unsettled. Clippard is likely to serve in some sort of setup role, but he could also see save chances, especially if Familia continues his slump. Hold onto Clippard for now in all leagues. If anything, this hurts the chances of Bobby Parnell and Jenrry Mejia securing more prominent roles at the back end.

New York Mets SP Zack Wheeler (elbow) threw on flat ground Monday, July 27, for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in March. Wheeler said he did not have any pain during the session and that his elbow felt strong. He said he hopes to be back pitching next June or July.
Fantasy Tip: Wheeler has just started his recovery from surgery, so he will not be an option for owners this season. Owners should monitor his progress over the next year because he could be a fantasy option when he returns next season.

Fantasy Tip: Clippard has been closing games for the Athletics and has recorded 17 saves to this point. It is not known what his role would be if he was traded to the Mets, so owners should monitor the situation. Jeurys Familia has performed well as the closer for the Mets but has blown two saves in his last four appearances, which could give Clippard a chance to close if he joins the team.

Fantasy Tip: d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has been a maddening fantasy baseball commodity because of his inability to stay healthy for his owners. He can be a nice value play in daily games when he returns, and in the meantime, Kevin Plawecki ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) isn't a bad source of value himself.

New York Mets RP Jeurys Familia has blown both of his save opportunities since the All-Star break, and his blown save against the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, July 26, was his fourth blown save in 31 chances in 2015. It was the first time he had allowed multiple runs in an outing since last September. Familia insists that he is not tired.
Fantasy Tip: Familia has given up three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings so far in the second half. Based on what he did in the first half of the season, though, he still has plenty of rope as the team's closer. However, Bobby Parnell or Jenrry Mejia could see some opportunities if Familia continues to struggle down the stretch.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 08:11:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Simmons ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has a .263-3-30 line on the season and is much more valuable in real life than in fantasy. He's not a good option on FantasyScore most days.

New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom had eight strikeouts and yielded just two hits, lowering his ERA to 2.05, as the Mets beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 on Sunday, July 26. DeGrom did not get the decision.
Fantasy Tip: DeGrom ($9,200, 18.4% of cap) has been a solid producer for the Mets, and his ERA is getting lower with each game. He is a rock-solid FantasyScore player and should be started every time.

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zack Greinke Sunday, July 26. OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in center field and is batting seventh in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future. Nieuwenhuis ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) went 4-for-4 with four RBI in his last game and is batting .375 this month. He is facing a tough matchup Sunday but could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.
Sun, 26 Jul 2015 07:33:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It appears Johnson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has a chance to be the starting second baseman for the time being. He is hitting .314 with four home runs and 13 RBI this month and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.
Sun, 26 Jul 2015 07:04:12 -0700
San Diego Padres OF Justin Upton has been a trade target for the New York Mets, but they are not willing to give up what the Padres are asking for in return. The Padres are asking for at least one top prospect and are not willing to pay any of his remaining salary. It is not known if the Mets will continue trade talks with San Diego.
Fantasy Tip: Upton ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has a good chance to be traded this offseason, but the Mets may look at another option. Upton is hitting only .122 this month, so owners on FantasyScore may want to look for better options for the time being.
Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:41:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Nieuwenhuis ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is only batting .159 on the season but he is 8-for-28 (.286) during the month of July, with three home runs and six RBIs. He is worth considering as a value play in FantasyScore.
