New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (ankle) threw with his ankle taped Thursday, April 23, and is set to make his start against the New York Yankees Saturday, April 25. He originally hurt his left ankle banging into an outfield wall while shagging balls in spring training.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) is off to a fine start in his return from Tommy John surgery in 2015, and he should be considered a strong FantasyScore play tomorrow against the strikeout-happy Yanks. Don't let his minor ankle ailment scare you off.

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard (illness) suffered food poisoning and needed intravenous fluids and was scratched from his start with Triple-A Las Vegas Friday, April 24, according to general manager Sandy Alderson. Syndergaard has allowed five runs (four earned) and nine hits while walking six in 7 2/3 innings over two minor league starts so far.
Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard is the Mets' top pitching prospect in the minors. Now that he's gotten off to a slow start due to several setbacks in 2015, it may be a while before we see him up in the bigs and in the starting rotation. Syndergaard deserves to be stashed in deep NL-only leagues, though.

New York Mets RP Bobby Parnell's (elbow, forearm) rehab assignment has been put on hold for a week while he deals with forearm soreness, according to manager Terry Collins. Parnell was examined by Dr. David Altchek, but nothing alarming was found. His fastball velocity has been in the 89-92 mph range during his rehab outings as he recovers from Tommy John surgery.
Fantasy Tip: In Parnell's absence, Jeurys Familia is a perfect 8-for-8 in save chances, and is making a case for himself to remain as the ninth-inning stopper, even when Parnell returns. You'll want to continue stashing Parnell in a DL slot in all leagues, though.

Fantasy Tip: Mayberry ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) excels against left-handed pitchers, and he's expected to be a staple in New York's lineup against southpaws moving forward. Mayberry hit .341 (17-for-70) with five of his seven home runs against lefties in 2014. He makes for an interesting buy-low sleeper candidate at FantasyScore tomorrow against New York Yankees starter CC Sabathia.

Fantasy Tip: Plawecki will be added to the FantasyScore player pool shortly, and the rookie has a shot at taking over regular catching duties for the Metropolitans. He is worth a look in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but his value is fleeting, as Travis D'Arnaud is likely only four to six weeks from returning.

Fantasy Tip: Wright is still likely two or three weeks away from returning to the lineup. Continue to stash him in seasonal leagues. Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has been filling in at the hot corner for Wright, but Campbell offers little more than cap relief for FantasyScore players. However, his .394 on-base percentage is more conducive to daily contests and points formats. Continue to check back for updates on Wright's recovery.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon became the first pitcher to four wins by beating the Atlanta Braves Thursday, April 23. Colon gave up three runs in six innings to win his first four starts of the season for the first time in his career. He has struck out 23 hitters and walked only one so far in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Despite Colon's ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) nice start, he remains mainly a matchup play at FantasyScore. His K/9 of 8.10 is prime for regression as the season advances, too.

Fantasy Tip: Recker sees occasional starts, and he is a solid FantasyScore value at $1,600 (or 3.2% of cap) when in the lineup. It won't take much to exceed salary expectations, and he'll save you plenty of money to spread across other more valuable positions.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (ankle) is dealing with a mild left ankle sprain, the team said Wednesday, April 22. He is not expected to miss his next scheduled start Saturday, April 25, against the New York Yankees.
Fantasy Tip: Even though he will pitch, and he is 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 18 innings, he is a risky play in FantasyScore at $7,700 (or 15.4% of cap). It's uncertain if the injury could flare up during the game. He'll also be making his first-career start at Yankee Stadium, so that isn't exactly the easiest venue to pitch, either. Start him at your own peril.

Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) has pitched just fine in the opening month while dealing with a foot issue, going 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP while striking out 24 hitters in 18 innings. There's no reason to believe his foot will keep him from making a good outing against the New York Yankees, a strikeout-happy team, Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Tejada ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has played in only one of the last five games but did pick up three RBI in that game. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using Tejada if they want to save some money.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 12:51:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has played the last several games, so he is likely receiving a day off. Ruben Tejada ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will be starting at second base and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 12:48:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Mayberry ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has received some starts against left-handed pitching this season. Mayberry could be a cheaper option on FantasyScore sincehe has gone 5-for-11 against Eric Stults in his career, but owners should not place a lot of stock on a small sample size.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 12:36:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Granderson ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) likely is sitting out since the Mets are facing a left-handed pitcher Wednesday. John Mayberry Jr. ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) is receiving the start and has received nine at bats so far in 2015. He could be a cheaper option to consider on FantasyScore since he has had some success against Eric Stults in their limited matchups.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 10:07:42 -0700
New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon is 5-2 with a 2.25 career ERA against the Atlanta Braves in seven appearances, and he has never gone less than seven innings against them and never allowed more than three runs.
Fantasy Tip: Colon ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is an under-the-radar play at FantasyScore tonight against the Braves. Look to him if you want to save some money for the rest of your lineup.
