Fantasy Tip: Granderson ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, and he has scored 12 runs during the same stretch. Throw in his power upside, and Granderson makes a solid play at FantasyScore at his current price.

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes went 1-for-6 with a home run, two RBI and a walk in a 9-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, Aug. 27, and he tied a career high with 26 home runs for the year.
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has six homers and 15 RBI over his last seven games, and he is hitting .303 since joining the Mets. Feel free to pay up for him at FantasyScore during this hot stretch.

Fantasy Tip: Matz ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) likely will rejoin the starting rotation when he is activated from the disabled list. Owners may want to see him pitch in a game before considering him for their lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Conforto ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has a respectable .271/.366/.500 slash line with 20 runs, three home runs and 12 RBI over his first 24 games with the Mets. He draws a plus-matchup against Harang ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) Thursday, and the outfielder is worth a look at FantasyScore.

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 27. 2B Kelly Johnson is starting at second base and batting fifth, and SS Ruben Tejada is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been swinging a hot bat, and he is worth a look in deep mixed leagues, especially if middle infield is an area of need. Johnson ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is a nice FantasyScore play Wednesday, as the Mets lineup is piling on the offense of late. Tejada ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is more of a dice roll, though, and he shouldn't be confused as a lineup priority.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting in the heart of a scorching hot lineup, Wright ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is a high-end play at FantasyScore Thursday, especially at his current salary. Wright is going to receive some games off, but he still warrants ownership in the majority of seasonal leagues. Similarly, Cuddyer ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) isn't going to be a daily fixture in the lineup, which is a hit to his value.

Fantasy Tip: Altherr ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has flashed some pop with two home runs and a .667 slugging percentage through his first 21 plate appearances. He is a viable flier at FantasyScore Thursday. Asche ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has been trending in the right direction with a .276/.364/.483 slash line in August, but he is still nothing more than a low-end option in all fantasy formats.

New York Mets SP Steven Matz (lat) allowed one hit over six scoreless innings in a rehab start for Class AA Binghamton Wednesday, Aug. 26, with no walks and six strikeouts. He threw 41 of his 56 pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: Matz ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) will receive at least one more rehab start before being activated from the disabled list. At that point, he'll rejoin a six-man rotation, which will negatively impact the fantasy value of the team's other starters. He should be owned in most formats, although FantasyScore owners should avoid using him in his first start back.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 20:26:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Colon ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) had dropped seven of his previous eight decisions entering Wednesday's contest. He is expected to make his next start against the Phillies at Citi Field Monday, Aug. 31.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 15:08:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Mets are being cautious with Wright ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) after he returned from a lengthy stint on the DL this past Monday. After hitting a solo homer in his first game back, he was hitless in four at-bats Tuesday, and he has four strikeouts in nine at-bats. Expect ups and downs from him the rest of the way.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 15:02:27 -0700
New York Mets SP Steven Matz (lat) will make his third rehab start Wednesday, Aug. 26, pitching for Class AA Binghamton. He'll only throw 60 pitches, though, meaning he'll likely need at least one more minor league start before coming off the disabled list. The Mets also want to see better pitch location from Matz before he comes back up.
Fantasy Tip: When Matz ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) rejoins the Mets' rotation, they'll go with a six-man rotation, meaning the other starters' fantasy value will take a slight hit for the final month of regular season play. Matz should remain owned in most formats, and his handful of starts to finish out the year could be helpful. Be careful using him on FantasyScore when he immediately returns from the DL, though.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 13:13:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: deGrom's ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) out-of-nowhere dud against the Philadelphia Phillies Monday night makes a little more sense knowing he was potentially pitching at less than 100%. Continue to view deGrom as a high-end pitcher in all fantasy formats, especially now that the New York offense is supplying all kinds of run support.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 13:07:15 -0700
Philadelphia Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is batting .375 with five RBI over his past six games, and he is hitting .357 against the New York Mets this season. Mets SP Bartolo Colon is starting against Philadelphia Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Galvis ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has settled into the two-hole of the order, and he is 3-for-6 against Colon ($5,500, 11.5% of cap) this season. The shortstop has a few things going for him Tuesday, but he shouldn't be confused as a lineup building block at FantasyScore.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 12:46:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Recker ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), who's hitting .138 (9-for-65) with two home runs, remains a desperation deep sleeper selection on FantasyScore despite facing a rookie making only his second major league start tonight.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 12:37:00 -0700
New York Mets 3B David Wright is not in the starting lineup, as expected, Wednesday, Aug. 26. 2B Daniel Murphy moves back to second base, and 3B Juan Uribe is starting at third base and is hitting seventh against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerad Eickhoff.
Fantasy Tip: Stacking Mets hitters against Eickhoff, who is making his second major league start, isn't a bad idea. Murphy ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has more upside for the price. Uribe ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) still has power in his old age, but he's hitting .239 (57-for-238) against right-handers this season.
