Fantasy Tip: Colon lowered his ERA to 2.56 while sporting an impressive 1.14 WHIP with 28 strikeouts over 31 2/3 innings. He continues to pitch at a very high level despite being 42 years of age, and he remains a must-start in most fantasy formats and DFS play.

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Monday, May 2, against the Atlanta Braves. He has 25 homers in 77 games since joining the Mets last summer. He is the quickest in franchise history to reach the mark, as former 1B Carlos Delgado held the old record with 25 homers in his first 88 games with the team.
Fantasy Tip: Something about playing at Citi Field and with the Mets agrees with Cespedes, and it appears after three previous stops that he has found a long-term home.

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard has trouble holding runners because of his slow delivery to the plate, and opposing basestealers are 12-for-13 off him this year. The San Francisco Giants stole three bases off Syndergaard in his outing Sunday, May 1. He's on pace to allow 78 steals over 30 starts.
Fantasy Tip: Thor remains one of the best young pitchers in baseball despite his struggles keeping runners close. It shouldn't affect his fantasy value at all, although it could lead to more runs being scored off of him in certain situations. Despite the loss Sunday, Syndergaard is a must-start in all matchups.

New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard endured his worst outing of the season on Sunday, May 1, against the San Francisco Giants, giving up four runs on five hits and a pair of walks across 5 2/3 innings en route to his first loss of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard did strike out six, but he hasn't been quite the dominant pitcher in either of his last two starts that he was over his first three outings, when he went 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA. Thor stands an outstanding chance of putting the hammer down in his next turn, however, as he gets the San Diego Padres in PETCO Park on Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Posey could be doing a little bit better in the RBI department (eight), but he's pretty well locked in at the plate right now and proving again why he is one of the best fantasy catchers in the business. He's a very good bet to keep it going against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park on Monday.

New York Mets OF Curtis Granderson, SS Asdrubal Cabrera and 1B Lucas Duda are not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner Sunday, May 1. OF Juan Lagares will bat leadoff and play right field, INF Wilmer Flores will bat sixth and play shortstop and INF Eric Campbell will bat eighth and play first base. In addition, C Kevin Plawecki has returned to the lineup and will bat seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Granderson and Duda are resting because a left-handed pitcher is on the mound, while the switch-hitting Cabrera is receiving his first off day of the regular season. Of the replacements in Sunday's lineup, only Lagares has experienced any success at the plate this year, batting .281 with two extra-base hits and two RBI through his first 32 at-bats. Lagares should be viewed as an inexpensive flier option in daily fantasy contests.

Fantasy Tip: DeGrom has been solid despite overcoming a lat injury and time off due to his newborn son's health issues. Right now, he remains a strong fantasy start thanks to his team's sterling offense.

Fantasy Tip: Conforto also singled and hit a home run in the game. He is batting .365 from the third spot in the lineup, making him a great fantasy value in daily and regular leagues. He is a main reason why the Mets offense is sparking.

Fantasy Tip: Familia has been just about perfect on the mound this season, and he should be picked up in any league where available. Familia is also an automatic option in daily leagues where closers are available to play.

Fantasy Tip: Rivera is starting instead of C Kevin Plawecki because the club is playing a day game following a night game. He should be viewed as nothing more than an inexpensive flier in daily fantasy contests.

Fantasy Tip: Flores has struggled mightily at the plate this season, going 2-for-24 with six strikeouts through his first 11 games. Avoid using him in all fantasy formats while he's in the midst of a slump. Expect Wright to return to the lineup Sunday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: Matz was blasted for seven runs in just 1 2/3 innings in his first start of the season April 11, but he is 3-0 with a 0.93 ERA in three outings since. He has re-emerged as a must-start in NL-only leagues, most mixed formats and DFS play.
Fri, 29 Apr 2016 22:53:56 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes is 13-for-34 (.382) with nine runs scored, six homers and 20 RBIs during his impressive nine-game hitting streak. He is on fire right now, and is a DFS must-have regardless of the price tag.
Fri, 29 Apr 2016 22:53:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Conforto is hitting .444 with six runs scored, a home run and seven RBIs during his current seven-game hitting streak. He has emerged as a must-start in all fantasy leagues and DFS play.

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes is still not 100% and the bruise on his right leg still exists. "I don't know how we're going to monitor it, because when the game goes on, you've got to just react," manager Terry Collins said Friday, April 29. "I just told him ... take it easy. Because I don't need him back in that training room."
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes isn't likely to be hindered at the plate, which is most important to his fantasy stock. However, he could see more routine days off in the near future, and if he aggravates the injury, he could miss additional time. For now, though, return the slugger to your lineups with confidence. He has 12 runs, six home runs and 17 RBI with a .300/.373/.683 slash line to start the season, after all.
