Fantasy Tip: This could cost Yo a couple of days, so make sure you check his status this weekend. Wilmer Flores is hitting third today, and he has a .333-6-13 line in 60 at-bats against lefties. He's an attractive option against lefty Tyler Anderson.

New York Mets 3B Jose Reyes (rib cage), C Travis d'Arnaud and OF Michael Conforto are out of the lineup Thursday, July 28. OF Juan Lagares leads off, C Rene Rivera is hitting seventh and OF Alejandro De Aza hits eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Lagares hits .271 against lefties, and he's a low-end flyer against Tyler Anderson. Rivera and De Aza aren't attractive options in DFS.

New York Mets RP Jeurys Familia allowed two earned runs, two hits and two walks in an inning of work to blow his first save of the season Wednesday, July 27, against the St. Louis Cardinals. He had converted 52 straight save chances, third-longest streak in major league history behind former Kansas City Royals RP Tom Gordon and former Los Angeles Dodgers RP Eric Gagne.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners need not worry about Familia, as everyone has a bad night. He has been so good this season, there is nothing to worry about until the blown save chances start to pile up. They won't.

Fantasy Tip: After an injury in mid-July, Cespedes is picking it up at the plate again. He has six RBIs over the past six games, and he remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues.

New York Mets SP Logan Verrett allowed three earned runs, five hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision Wednesday, July 27, against the St. Louis Cardinals. RP Jeurys Familia blew his first save of the season to take a win away from Verrett.
Fantasy Tip: Verrett has no decisions over his past three starts, but he has a 3.44 ERA in 18 1/3 innings during the span. He is a viable fantasy option and quality starter and worth a look in NL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats if he is given the chance to continue in the rotation.

Fantasy Tip: Walker's batting average tumbled from .264 to .244 since July 3 thanks to an awful 4-for-48 slide. He needed this big game for his impatient fantasy owners, and hopefully it's the start of a hot streak.

New York Mets SS Jose Reyes (rib cage) received an injection and treatment for his strained ribcage on his left side. Manager Terry Collins said Reyes is likely to be sidelined until at least Friday, July 29. As long as Reyes is sidelined, Collins said 2B Wilmer Flores will continue to fill in.
Fantasy Tip: Reyes should be reserved in all fantasy leagues until he can officially return and prove his health in at least a full game or two without any setbacks before trusting him again.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Randal Grichuk and 2B Kolten Wong are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 27. Cardinals OF Tommy Pham is starting in center field and is hitting eighth, while 2B Greg Garcia is at the keystone and batting leadoff against Mets SP Logan Verrett Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Grichuk and Wong haven't played since Sunday, July 24. It's a concerning trend, especially for Wong. Grichuk could enter into a semi-platoon and start solely against lefties, which would be bad. But Wong can't beat out Garcia for playing time right now, as Garcia boasts a .451 on-base percentage for the season. Garcia is a potential add in deep mixed leagues, but he's unlikely to sustain his current production, and he offers extremely limited pop.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets 3B Jose Reyes (intercostal) is hopeful to only miss a few days because of his strained left intercostal. INF Wilmer Flores will start at third base in the meantime, according to manager Terry Collins.
Fantasy Tip: Seasonal owners should prepare to be without Reyes into the weekend and potentially longer. He is worth stashing in most settings during his absence. Flores has been scorching hot in July, and he should be owned and started in the majority of leagues until Reyes returns, and potentially longer.

New York Mets 3B Jose Reyes (intercostal) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 27. INF Wilmer Flores is starting at third base and batting sixth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: While Flores has done most of his damage against southpaws this season (1.068 OPS), he's also sporting a .340/.382/.800 slash line in July. Flores should be owned in the majority of seasonal leagues at this point, especially with his positional versatility. Reyes is 16-for-67 (.239 batting average) to start his second tenure with the Mets, but he also has a .493 slugging percentage, so he remains a viable stash in all leagues while nursing the minor injury.

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over seven innings in a win in Game 2 of the doubleheader Tuesday, July 26, against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Fantasy Tip: Colon has had a couple of shaky performances in the month of July, but he still has three victories. Overall, he has a 3.35 ERA and 1.20 WHIP this season to help those in all rotisserie formats.
Tue, 26 Jul 2016 20:34:45 -0700
New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard allowed three runs - two earned - and seven hits with three walks and eight strikeouts over six innings in a loss in Game 1 of the doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, July 26.
Fantasy Tip: Thor has managed just one win over his past five starts dating back to June 22, and he has no wins over the past three outings. Despite shaky performances by his standards, he remains a must-start across all fantasy formats and DFS play even without the wins.
Tue, 26 Jul 2016 20:34:09 -0700
New York Mets SS Jose Reyes (intercostal) left the game Tuesday, July 26, against the St. Louis Cardinals due to a strained intercostal muscle. He has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain and is expected to miss at least a couple of days, according to manager Terry Collins.
Fantasy Tip: Reyes should be reserved in all fantasy leagues which allow daily moves and avoided in DFS play until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks.
Tue, 26 Jul 2016 16:48:59 -0700
New York Mets SS Jose Reyes, OF Curtis Granderson and OF Michael Conforto are not in the starting lineup for the second game of a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, July 26. OF Juan Lagares will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup against Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia. SS Wilmer Flores will start at third base and is batting fourth, while OF Alejandro De Aza will start in right field and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Lagares, Flores and De Aza have all struggled at the plate over the last seven days and should not be considered by owners in most mixed leagues.
