New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda went 3-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a 3-2 win over the Washington Nationals Saturday, Aug. 1, and he has eight home runs in his last seven games.
Fantasy Tip: Duda ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has 10 RBI and eight runs scored during the same seven-game stretch, and he is a bargain at FantasyScore right now.

New York Mets OF Kelly Johnson is starting in right field and hitting sixth in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Washington Nationals and RHP Joe Ross. OF Michael Conforto comes out of the starting lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is hitting a pedestrian .265 against righties this year, although he does have nine home runs. He can be considered for use in GPP tournaments on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) will have an excellent opportunity to make an instant impact as he is hitting .321 with 15 home runs against right-handed pitching this season. FantasyScore owners should be looking at him as the Mets best FantasyScore option.

Fantasy Tip: Wright ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) said he has a return date in mind but isn't ready to share it with the public. However, he is a notoriously slow healer and is likely to need a lengthy rehab assignment before coming back. Wright was batting .333 with a home run and four RBIs through eight games prior to landing on the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: The Mets traded for Yoenis Cespedes right at the trade deadline Friday, so Conforto ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could be headed back to the minors if the Mets want to make sure he receives regular at-bats. Either way, Conforto's fantasy value will take a big hit after being a short-term solution for those in deeper leagues. Conforto should still be owned in dynasty leagues, though. Campbell ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) doesn't deserve consideration in your daily lineups.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is not in the starting lineup versus Washington Nationals left-handed SP Gio Gonzalez Friday, July 31. 2B Daniel Murphy is starting at first base and hitting third in the lineup, while SS Wilmer Flores gets the start at the keystone and is batting sixth.
Fantasy Tip: We don't recommend using Murphy ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) against a left-handed pitcher, as he's hitting only .174 (12-for-69) against them this year with none of his six home runs. Gonzalez has been pitching very well of late, too. Flores ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) does have 10 home runs and is a midrange shortstop play to save money elsewhere on your roster.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 13:23:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cuddyer's ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) fantasy stock is dwindling, and he might not be capable of playing every day with his nagging knee injury. Michael Conforto ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could see fewer at-bats when Cuddyer returns, so the rookie's value may be fleeting. It is a situation to monitor.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 12:50:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) will take a slight fantasy hit going to the Mets, but he remains a high-end No. 2 outfielder in the majority of leagues. He has 62 runs, 18 home runs and 61 RBI this season with a .293/.323/.506 slash line. Make sure to avoid him at FantasyScore Friday. One ripple of the deal is rookie Michael Conforto ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could find himself as the odd man out when Michael Cuddyer ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) returns from his knee injury, or at least, there will be competitions for at-bats.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 11:46:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Wright ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as next week, so for the first time in a long time, there may be progress in his recovery. Still, he is a notoriously slow healer and has only played eight games this season. He is worth stashing, but keep your expectations in check with this version of Captain America.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 11:27:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) appears to be becoming a bat for hire over the past year, and while his fantasy stock wouldn't be drastically hurt by a move to the Tigers, it wouldn't help, either. Continue to check back for updates and don't make any hasty decisions until there are official announcements.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 10:08:12 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Mets are desperately trying to acquire another outfield bat to help their struggling offense, and Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) would certainly fit the bill. While he'd be leaving a hitter-friendly park for a more pitcher-friendly venue, a trade to Citi Field won't drastically downgrade his fantasy value.

The New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds may have hit a snag in their discussions on sending OF Jay Bruce to the Mets, according to sources. The Reds are having second thoughts about what the Mets are offering.
Fantasy Tip: The Mets' attempt at a trade for another high-profile outfielder fell apart the other day, too, when they balked at acquiring Carlos Gomez. Could it happen again? Stay tuned as the trade deadline nears. Bruce's ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) fantasy value figures to take at least a slight hit if he moves to a pitcher-friendly environment at Citi Field.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 08:57:36 -0700
Cincinnati Reds OF Jay Bruce is closer to being traded to the New York Mets in exchange for SP Zack Wheeler Friday, July 31. The two teams are reviewing medical information. Bruce is hitting .257 with 17 home runs and 59 RBI in 350 at-bats and will make $12.5 million next year with a team option for $13 million for 2017.
Fantasy Tip: The Mets could surely use a power boost that Bruce ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) would give them. Bruce's fantasy value might take a small hit moving to a more pitcher-friendly environment in Citi Field, although his power can play anywhere.

Fantasy Tip: Familia may deserve a bit of a pass for this one. He recorded the first two outs of the inning, but he was then forced to sit for 44 minutes because of a rain delay, and he was lit up when play resumed. Still, he has now blown three straight save chances, and the recently acquired Tyler Clippard could start to steal away some saves opportunities any day now.
Thu, 30 Jul 2015 17:14:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: A move away from the hitter-friendly environment of Great American Ballpark to the more pitching-friendly venue of Citi Field would cause Bruce's ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) to drop a little bit. However, he has power that plays anywhere, so it probably wouldn't be a drastic shift.
