New York Mets manager Terry Collins is expected to return next season. General manager Sandy Alderson and Collins are expected to meet this weekend to discuss the manager's future plans. Alderson is also expected to return for next year, and the club has an option on Alderson's original four-year guaranteed deal that will expire this year. "I think Terry has done a fine job this season," the GM said. "I think we've improved in a lot of areas. We've seen growth in our young players, particularly in the pitching -- both in the rotation and the bullpen. That's been well-managed. I think we're positioned well for 2015."

Black could return to pitch this year following a small rotator cuff strain in his right shoulder, according to general manager Sandy Alderson.
