Fantasy Tip: Flores ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) recently shed his walking boot, and a return to the lineup bodes well for his opening day readiness. Last season, he hit just .251 but rarely struck out -- 11.3% strikeout rate -- and hit well in the minors. Shortstop lacks depth, and Flores makes for a nice late-round flier.

New York Mets 3B David Wright may be moved out of the third spot in the lineup in 2015. The Mets are playing with their lineup in spring training, and they are thinking of moving Wright into the No. 2 spot. Wright has hit second three times this spring, and manager Terry Collins confirmed that the team is thinking about this move occasionally. Wright said a move in the lineup won't bother his ego at all. He hit third in all 133 starts in 2014, in 109 of 111 starts in 2013 and 144 of 155 starts in 2012.
Fantasy Tip: It doesn't appear that this would be a full-time lineup switch, but just on occasion. It could give Wright a chance to see some additional at-bats over the course of the entire season, which would be a plus for his fantasy value. In the long run, it probably won't change much, though. Despite a drop to just eight home runs last year, you typical know what you're getting from Wright - decent power numbers and plenty of job security. The Citi Field fences were moved in, too, so expect a rebound in power from Wright.

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (elbow) will have an 80-pitch limit in his next spring start against the St. Louis Cardinals Friday, March 27, in his fifth Grapefruit League start. Harvey currently has a 1.26 ERA and 9 2/3-innings scoreless streak. He's scheduled to make his season debut April 9 against the Washington Nationals. Harvey has walked just one hitter in 14 1/3 spring innings.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) has displayed great velocity and control this spring in his return from Tommy John surgery. The excellent results have him rising quickly up fantasy draft boards. He will no longer come at an injury discount like he did early in spring. Even though he has a tough matchup in the Nats in his first outing of the year, it'll be very tempting not to go with him at FantasyScore in a matchup against Stephen Strasburg.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($4,700, 9.4% of the cap) appears to be making progress from his injury, but there is still a question about whether will be ready for opening day. Owners on FantasyScore may want to wait for him to be 100% before using him.

New York Mets SP Jon Niese pitched in a simulated game Thursday, March 26, in order to fix his mechanics. Niese noticed during his last bullpen session that he was stepping more toward the first base side when he landed, which fatigued his left shoulder. Niese used the simulated game to step toward the home plate and said his shoulder felt much better.
Fantasy Tip: Niese has made several appearances this spring and has posted solid numbers in his limited innings. Owners should consider selecting Niese in the middle to later rounds of drafts.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (back) was removed from the game Wednesday, March 25, after being hit by a pitch in the back. However, he was only scheduled to play another half inning, so manager Terry Collins said he removed Duda then.
Fantasy Tip: Being lifted from the game does not appear to be injury related. Duda ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) remains a solid mid-round target in drafts after launching 30 home runs and driving in 92 RBI last season. There are platoon and batting average concerns to keep in mind, too, though. Duda's a nice target for FantasySocre players when he faces a weak right-handed pitcher, as well.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Murphy ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is ready, opening the season against the front end of Washington's pitching staff is daunting for daily contests. It would be wise to pass on Murphy in FantasyScore contests until he proves his health and lands in a more favorable matchup. Danny Muno and Matt Reynolds are candidates to fill any void due to Murphy's injury, but neither have fantasy value in the majority of formats.

Fantasy Tip: The Mets have said that Parnell is expected to be handed the closer's role back when he's ready to return, so that makes him worth drafting with a late-round pick and stashing in a DL spot. Jenrry Mejia is the favorite to see most of the save chances until then, and he's also a late-round closer option, preferably handcuffed with Parnell.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy is questionable for opening day with his hamstring pull. If he misses time, Danny Muno or Matt Reynolds could start at the keystone, but they are strictly names for deep NL-only leagues.

New York Mets RP Bobby Parnell (elbow) has not returned to the velocity he had pre-Tommy John surgery, and he is more than 11 months removed from the procedure. He was around 90 mph with his fastball during his outing in a minor league game, and he topped out at 92 mph.
Fantasy Tip: Parnell will open the season on the disabled list, but it's expected that he'll regain the closer's job when he's ready to return. Snatch him up as a late-round pick in mixed leagues. Pairing him with Jenrry Mejia would be ideal.

Fantasy Tip: Close the book on Wheeler for 2015. He has a shot at being ready for '16, and he would be worth a flyer for the back end of your fantasy rotations.

Fantasy Tip: It isn't wise to overreact to spring training statistics, but Wright has performed at an elite level in the past. His 2014 struggles are largely being chalked up to shoulder troubles, and he is widely available in the early middle rounds of drafts, which could present profit potential. There is upside for a rebound year, and with third base a rather weak fantasy position, Wright could approach the top tier.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy's availability for the opener is unclear. If he is not ready for the season Daniel Muno or Matt Reynolds could break camp with the team.

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores (foot) shed his walking boot Monday, March 23, and he said he was confident he would be ready for the regular season opener. He suffered a bruised left foot during a Grapefruit League spring game Sunday, March 22, after fouling a ball off his foot.
Fantasy Tip: Ruben Tejeda will see significant spring at-bats with Flores sidelined, and if Flores is not ready for the regular season he would likely start the opener.

Fantasy Tip: Colon ($5,600, 11.2% of cap), deGrom ($7,100, 14.2% of cap) and Harvey ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) are risky options for FantasyScore players with the Mets visiting the high-powered Nationals in their season-opening series. Still, deGrom and Harvey have the strikeout upside to offset some of the risk of a potent line, Colon, though, doesn't.
