New York Mets 2B Neil Walker went 1-for-3 with his 12th home run of the season Monday, May 30, against the Chicago White Sox. He finished with the game's only run scored and RBI, and he also drew a walk.
Fantasy Tip: Not only did his solo blast pace teammate Matt Harvey to a much-needed win, it gives Walker almost as many homers as he had all of last year (16) in 543 at-bats. The former Pittsburgh Pirate has been a wonderful addition to the Mets lineup this season, and his owners should just keep firing him up every time he's in the batting order.

New York Mets SP Matt Harvey bounced back in a big way with his performance Monday, May 30, against the Chicago White Sox. The right-hander tossed seven shutout innings, scattering just two hits and one walk. He also struck out six.
Fantasy Tip: It turns out Harvey was right in not wanting to have his Memorial Day assignment skipped, as this was actually his best outing of the season. It's a huge step in the right direction for The Dark Knight, who had surrendered five runs or more in each of his past three starts. This should at least restore some of his confidence, which will allow him to return to his usual form. Owners who benched him might want to get Harvey back in starting lineups right away.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets 3B David Wright (neck) has a herniation in a disk in his neck and is scheduled to see a doctor Tuesday, May 31. "Yes, I'm concerned about David Wright possibly (going on the disabled list)," manager Terry Collins said Monday, May 30. "The condition he's been playing in and the condition he's in right now, yeah, I'm concerned about it. I know this guy plays with a lot of discomfort. He always has. When he can't play, he's hurt."
Fantasy Tip: Wright's fantasy stock is plummeting, and it isn't out of the question to act upon this news now and find a replacement. The veteran third baseman isn't worth stashing in the majority of seasonal leagues, especially since he has missed substantial time in five of the past six seasons. Look for Eric Campbell, Wilmer Flores and Ty Kelly to receive some looks at the hot corner, but they're all poor fantasy options.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation over the next few days to see if Wright will go on the disabled list. Eric Campbell, Wilmer Flores and Ty Kelly are all options to see time at third base while Wright is sidelined but none of the players are strong fantasy options.

New York Mets OF Curtis Granderson, OF Michael Conforto, 3B Eric Campbell and C Kevin Plawecki are not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana Monday, May 30. OF Juan Lagares will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup. SS Wilmer Flores will start at first base and is batting fifth. OF Alejandro De Aza will start in left field and is batting sixth, while C Rene Rivera will start at catcher and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Lagares has four hits in his last three games and has recorded two home runs and four RBI during that span. He should be a sleeper option in some daily fantasy leagues. De Aza, Flores and Rivera are all hitting under .200 this season and probably can be avoided by owners.

Fantasy Tip: Kelly has gone hitless in eight at-bats since joining the Mets a week ago and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.
Mon, 30 May 2016 06:03:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Loney should see playing time against right-handed pitchers while Lucas Duda is sidelined. He probably should only be used in NL-only leagues at this point because he does not have much power.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard was tossed early in his last start, so an appearance out of the bullpen would essentially count as his side work. In season-long leagues, it doesn’t hurt to start him Tuesday and hope he grabs a couple of strikeouts in relief.

New York Mets OF Michael Conforto is not in the starting lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, May 29. OF Juan Lagares will play in center and bat fifth against Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw.
Fantasy Tip: Conforto is on the bench to start Sunday night because of the matchup against the lefty Kershaw. Put him on your bench for the night. Lagares is a .333-2-4 hitter in May but does not play often enough to merit serious fantasy value or consideration.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (neck) is out of the starting lineup Sunday, May 29, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wright's replacement, SS Wilmer Flores (hamstring), is returning to the lineup and will bat sixth against Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw. Wright may be unavailable on Monday, May 30, as well.
Fantasy Tip: Right now the team is worried about the DL for Wright, so this injury could turn out to be a serious one. Stash Wright away in all but shallow leagues. Flores may be worth monitoring in daily leagues if he can hit well, because he and Ty Kelly might replace Wright in the lineup for a while.

Fantasy Tip: Harvey is still scheduled to make his next start against the Chicago White Sox Monday, May 30, and he is going through the worst season of his MLB career. The 27-year-old right-hander is 3-7 with a 6.08 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP in 10 starts, with eight home runs allowed over just 53 1/3 innings. He should be avoided in all fantasy formats for now.
Sun, 29 May 2016 07:01:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Newly-acquired James Loney should see the bulk of the playing time at first base against right-handed pitching, with Wilmer Flores and Eric Campbell seeing most of the action versus lefties. All three of these players should be viewed as NL-only fantasy options, with Loney having the most value.
Sat, 28 May 2016 18:05:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard no doubt burned his owners in daily formats, but it's tough to complain too much given the incredible season he is putting together.
Sat, 28 May 2016 14:45:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera has hit second in the past couple games for the Mets, and over the last nine games he has 10 hits. With a .282 average, Cabrera should get mid-range consideration for your fantasy lineup.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (neck) has neck issues and will not start Saturday, May 28, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. 3B Ty Kelly takes Wright's place and bats seventh against Dodgers SP Kenta Maeda.
Fantasy Tip: Do not pick up Kelly in DFS leagues. He's worth stashing away in keeper/dynasty leagues for his future production, but Kelly is struggling in his callup. As for Wright, wait and see what this latest injury does to his availability.
