Mets | Wilmer Flores draws out of the lineup

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 07:47:37 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 30. 3B Juan Uribe is playing third base and batting sixth against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miley Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been a touch inconsistent game to game, but he sports a .364/.378/.659 slash line with 11 runs and 10 RBI over his past 10 games. Uribe ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) draws in with a respectable .879 OPS against lefties this season, but he still shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a dice roll at FantasyScore Sunday.

Mets | Kelly Johnson playing second base

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 10:06:29 -0700

New York Mets INF Kelly Johnson will bat fifth and play second base against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Saturday, Aug. 29. INF Wilmer Flores, who started at second base Friday, Aug. 28, will play shortstop Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is only hitting .219 with three home runs and six RBIs in 73 at-bats since joining the club, so he isn't a recommended option in FantasyScore this afternoon. On the other hand, Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is batting .393 with two homers and seven RBIs over the past week and should be considered for daily lineups.

Mets | Daniel Murphy playing first base

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 10:05:15 -0700

New York Mets INF Daniel Murphy will bat third and play first base against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Saturday, Aug. 29. OF/1B Michael Cuddyer is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is batting .346 with a home run and seven RBIs over the past seven days and is 2-for-3 in his career versus Kelly, making him a solid value play in FantasyScore this afternoon.

Mets | David Wright not in lineup Saturday

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 10:02:25 -0700

New York Mets 3B David Wright is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Saturday, Aug. 29. INF Juan Uribe will play the hot corner and bat sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Wright ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is 6-for-20 since coming off the disabled list but the Mets will try to make sure he gets an adequate amount of rest down the stretch. Uribe ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is batting just .157 during the month of August and should be avoided in FantasyScore unless you really need the cap space.

Mets | Michael Conforto playing left field

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 10:02:23 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Conforto will bat seventh and play left field against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Saturday, Aug. 29. OF Curtis Granderson, who played left field Friday, Aug. 28, will start in center field, with OF Juan Lagares getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Conforto ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is batting .421 (8-for-19) with four doubles and two RBIs over the past week and is a solid value option in FantasyScore.

Mets | David Wright solid in first home game

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 00:28:26 -0700

New York Mets 3B David Wright was 2-for-5 in his first home game at Citi Field Friday, Aug. 28, against the Boston Red Sox. Wright had not played at Citi since April, when back problems sidelined him.

Fantasy Tip: Wright ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has been decent in his return to the lineup, so the time might be right to lift off the reins and put Wright in your FantasyScore roster.

Mets | Lucas Duda not swinging yet

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 14:52:15 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (back) has not been able to start swinging a bat at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Duda ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is still a few weeks away from returning to the lineup, so owners should monitor his recovery. Michael Cuddyer ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) could see most of the playing time at first base and could be a starting option against certain opponents.

Mets | Michael Cuddyer starting at first base

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 13:39:16 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Cuddyer is starting at first base and batting fifth against Boston Red Sox SP Henry Owens Friday, Aug. 28. 2B Kelly Johnson draws out of the lineup Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Cuddyer ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) appears to be over the nagging knee injury for the time being, but he still isn't receiving everyday playing time. Still, he is currently raking with a .350/.381/.600 slash line since returning from the disabled list and is worth targeting at FantasyScore Friday. Johnson's ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) role could dwindle if he doesn't heat up at the plate. He has just six RBI and a .222/.273/.403 slash line over 22 games since joining the Mets. He is nothing more than a cavernous mixed and NL-only option is seasonal formats.

Mets | Juan Lagares starting vs. Boston

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 13:33:22 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares is starting in center field and batting first against Boston Red Sox SP Henry Owens Friday, Aug. 28. OF Michael Conforto is not in the starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has only received 45 plate appearances in August, but he has made the most of them with nine runs, 11 RBI and a 1.014 OPS. Like most hitters for the red-hot Mets, he is worth considering at FantasyScore Friday. Conforto ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) remains worth owning in deeper mixed leagues, but he is unlikely to see anything more than semi-regular playing time down the stretch, so owners will want to keep that in mind.

Mets | Four-hit night for Curtis Granderson

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 21:23:48 -0700

New York Mets OF Curtis Granderson went 4-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and a walk in a 9-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, Aug. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Granderson ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, and he has scored 12 runs during the same stretch. Throw in his power upside, and Granderson makes a solid play at FantasyScore at his current price.

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 21:17:57 -0700

New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes went 1-for-6 with a home run, two RBI and a walk in a 9-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, Aug. 27, and he tied a career high with 26 home runs for the year.

Fantasy Tip: Cespedes ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has six homers and 15 RBI over his last seven games, and he is hitting .303 since joining the Mets. Feel free to pay up for him at FantasyScore during this hot stretch.

Mets | Steven Matz to make another rehab start

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 15:30:26 -0700

New York Mets SP Steven Matz (lat) is scheduled to make another rehab start for Class AA Binghamton Monday, Aug. 31, or Tuesday, Sept. 1. Matz likely would rejoin the team after that rehab start.

Fantasy Tip: Matz ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) likely will rejoin the starting rotation when he is activated from the disabled list. Owners may want to see him pitch in a game before considering him for their lineups.

Mets | Michael Conforto starting vs. Phillies

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 13:34:56 -0700

New York Mets OF Michael Conforto is starting in left field and batting seventh against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Thursday, Aug. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Conforto ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has a respectable .271/.366/.500 slash line with 20 runs, three home runs and 12 RBI over his first 24 games with the Mets. He draws a plus-matchup against Harang ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) Thursday, and the outfielder is worth a look at FantasyScore.

Mets | Wilmer Flores out of the lineup

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 13:30:39 -0700

New York Mets SS Wilmer Flores is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 27. 2B Kelly Johnson is starting at second base and batting fifth, and SS Ruben Tejada is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Flores ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has been swinging a hot bat, and he is worth a look in deep mixed leagues, especially if middle infield is an area of need. Johnson ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is a nice FantasyScore play Wednesday, as the Mets lineup is piling on the offense of late. Tejada ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is more of a dice roll, though, and he shouldn't be confused as a lineup priority.

Mets | David Wright hitting cleanup

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 13:18:43 -0700

New York Mets 3B David Wright is starting at third base and batting fourth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Michael Cuddyer draws out of the lineup Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting in the heart of a scorching hot lineup, Wright ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is a high-end play at FantasyScore Thursday, especially at his current salary. Wright is going to receive some games off, but he still warrants ownership in the majority of seasonal leagues. Similarly, Cuddyer ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) isn't going to be a daily fixture in the lineup, which is a hit to his value.
