New York Mets SP Dillon Gee (groin) will return to the starting rotation and SP Noah Syndergaard is remaining in the mix, too, as the Mets will utilize a six-man rotation for the foreseeable future. "We don't really know right now how long that could go," manager Terry Collins said. "We've got a lot of managing to do of workloads. A lot of it. When you add Noah to deGrom to Harvey, there's a lot of maneuvering to be done. ... We're trying to do the best we can to keep from having to shut guys down. That's kind of where we're at right now."
Fantasy Tip: This is a huge plus for Syndergaard's ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) fantasy value, as he has a 3.18 ERA and 11 strikeouts through his first 11 1/3 innings. Switching to a six-man rotation is also a means to lessen the load on Matt Harvey ($9,100, 18.2% of cap), Jacob deGrom ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) and Snydergaard, and keep them healthy throughout the season. Gee is a spot start option in the majority of formats, including FantasyScore, but he doesn't warrant ownership outside of deep mixed and NL-only legaues.

Fantasy Tip: Remain patient and continue to stash d'Arnaud ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) in all seasonal formats. Kevin Plawecki ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has handled the majority of starts in his absence, but his fleeting value is nearing an end. FantasyScore players will want to take a wait-and-see approach with d'Arnaud when he returns, and view Plawecki as a value option for contests when he is behind the dish.

Fantasy Tip: Remain patient and stash Wright ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) in all seasonal formats, and hopefully his injuries won't linger and negatively impact his offensive upside. Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) continues to handle the hot corner, but his fleeting seasonal value appears to be nearing an end. FantasyScore players should view Campbell as nothing more than a low-priced flier.

Fantasy Tip: Kang ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has been receiving more playing time of late, as his bat is making a statement. He is sporting a .340/.417/.509 slash line over his last 14 games with five runs, two home runs, four RBI and a stolen base. FantasyScore players can target Kang as a value shortstop option in contests Friday. His seasonal value is on the rise, too, and at this point, Kang warrants attention in all deep mixed leagues.

New York Mets SP Dillon Gee (groin) is expected to return to the team's rotation shortly, meaning SP Noah Syndergaard may just have his start against the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday, May 22, to convince the club to stay in the majors.
Fantasy Tip: Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could be trade bait before he comes off the DL. The rookie Syndergaard ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has lived up to his billing so far in two starts for the Mets, giving up just four earned runs in 11 1/3 innings while striking out 11. Syndergaard has much more upside, clearly, and he makes for a fine FantasyScore play against the weak-hitting Bucs Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Wright ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is a notoriously slow healer, and his rehab from hamstring and back injuries is no different here. You'll have to stay patient in traditional leagues and hope his power stroke isn't affected when he returns. Eric Campbell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will continue to man the hot corner in the meantime. He's a low-end third base option at FantasyScore, though.

Updating a previous report, New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda has drastically improved against left-handed pitching in 2015 after struggling last year, and part of the credit is going to former Mets star Keith Hernandez after he worked with Duda before spring training on his approach against southpaws. Hernandez said Duda didn't change anything mechanically, though, and he has like the way he's attacking lefties early in counts. Both of Duda's home runs against lefties Thursday, May 21, were on first pitches.
Fantasy Tip: The Duda abides. He has surely put a big smile on his owners' faces with his drastic improvement against left-handers this year. Whether his dominance against them will last is another story, but he's proving to be a strong play at FantasyScore. Yes, even against lefties.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda hit two home runs in a winning effort Thursday, May 21. He's now hitting .409 with four of his five home runs and six extra-base hits against left-handed pitchers this year. Last year, he hit only .180 against southpaws with two home runs and four extra-base hits in 111 at-bats. Duda was 2-for-3 in the contest with three runs scored, four RBI and a walk to raise his season average to .302.
Fantasy Tip: Now that Duda ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has apparently solved left-handers, his fantasy value is at its peak. He should be considered a strong FantasyScore play on a daily basis and an against-the-grain play against lefties.

New York Mets SP Jacob deGrom had 11 strikeouts in eight dominant innings to beat the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday, May 21, and he retired the final 23 hitters after a first-inning single. deGrom also battled through a tender hip and stiff shoulder that had bothered him recently. It was his fifth double-digit strikeout game and first since Sept. 21 of last year. He is now 10-1 with a 1.19 ERA in his last 12 starts at home, with a 1.50 ERA in 16 career games at Citi Field. deGrom went eight innings and allowed just the one hit while walking none Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: deGrom ($7,300, 14.6% of cap) is a fine FantasyScore option every fifth day, but he's been much better at home this year than on the road (6.75 ERA, .302 batting average against). For now, you should be hesitant to use him on the road.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Holliday ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Thursday, it is likely nothing more than a routine day off on getaway day. Reynolds ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has hit a hot streak over the past 15 games, as he sports a .327/.364/.500 slash line with seven runs, two home runs and eight RBI. FantasyScore players should view him as an upside source of cap relief, albeit a somewhat risky one against stingy starting pitcher Jacob deGrom.
Thu, 21 May 2015 07:41:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Flores ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has five runs, three home runs and seven RBI with a .524 slugging percentage over his last 11 games, and he boasts significant power potential for a middle infielder. FantasyScore players should view him as a moderate-risk, high-reward shortstop option hitting in a prime lineup spot Thursday.
Thu, 21 May 2015 07:38:42 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Setting the table is a boon for Lagares' ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) fantasy stock Thursday, and FantasyScore players have an upside low-priced flier on their hands. He is currently sporting a five-game hitting streak with two runs and a stolen base.
Thu, 21 May 2015 07:31:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: With a southpaw starting on getaway day, it is a fine time to provide Granderson ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) a rest day. Make sure to avoid him in all formats Thursday. Mayberry ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been relegated to pinch-hit duties and is sporting a .135/.200/.270 slash line over 40 plate appearances. Aim higher in all fantasy formats.
Wed, 20 May 2015 20:17:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gee ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) appears to be close to returning to the Mets, but it is not known how many more rehab starts he will need. Owners on FantasyScore may want to see Gee to pitch in a game or two before considering him an option.
Wed, 20 May 2015 19:44:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Colon ($6,900, 13.8% of cap) has struggled in his last three starts by allowing 17 earned runs in that span. Colon is scheduled to face the Philadelphia Phillies in his next start and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.
