Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) continues to see improvement with the bruised nerve in his right shoulder, and head coach Bruce Arians said Friday, Oct. 17, that the injury continues to improve daily.
Fantasy Tip: Palmer has a decent matchup in Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders, a team which ranks 11th in the NFL against the pass, but which has conceded nine passing touchdowns in just five games. At $7,300 (or 14.6 percent of the cap) in FantasyScore leagues, Palmer is a solid play this weekend.

Arizona Cardinals TE John Carlson (knee) is almost back to 100 percent after suffering a knee injury in the Week 6 game. Head coach Bruce Arians said Friday, Oct. 17, that Carlson practiced better than Thursday, Oct. 16, when he returned to the field after missing time Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Fantasy Tip: Even at a temptingly low $3,000 salary (or 6.0 percent of the cap) in FantasyScore, he sees too few touches to rely upon.

TE John Carlson (knee), LB Glenn Carson (ankle), DE Frostee Rucker (calf) and DT Alameda Ta'amu (illness) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. LB Alex Okafor (quadriceps) and CB Patrick Peterson (ankle) fully participate in practice Friday, Oct. 17, and are listed as probable.

Fantasy Tip: Brown has been fairly quiet over the last few games but has a chance to play well in Week 7. Brown has a price of $3,500 on FantasyScore and could be a cheap flex option for owners.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has had an up and down season but should be helped with the return of Carson Palmer. Floyd has a price of $6,600 on FantasyScore and could be a fine starting option.

Fantasy Tip: Ellington has been helping out in the running and passing game and could have a solid game this week against the Oakland Raiders. Ellington costs $7,300 on FantasyScore and could be a solid starting option for owners.

Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson has admitted that he needs to start playing better this season. Through five games, he's allowed four touchdowns, including two last week to the Washington Redskins. He's been called for a team-high five penalties. Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles thinks the loss of the team's best pass rushers has put Peterson more on an island in man-press coverage on the outside. "Patrick is one of the reasons we can do a lot of the things we do inside," Bowles said. "So for him to give up a pass or two here and there doesn't mean (he) struggles. It just means we left him out there too long."

Fantasy Tip: Ellington has produced modest numbers so far, but Carson Palmer's return should help out the entire offense. Meanwhile, Ellington has a juicy Week 7 matchup with an Oakland Raiders defense ranked 31st against the run. He will take up 14.6% of the cap ($7,300) at FantasyScore, and he could be primed for one of his best performances of the year.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has had an inconsistent start to the season, but with Carson Palmer back under center last weekend, he caught his first touchdown. Floyd will take up 13.2% of the cap ($6,600) at FantasyScore in Week 7, and he should make a solid mid-level option with the Cardinals facing an Oakland Raiders defense that is allowing plenty of points.

Arizona Cardinals DT Alameda Ta'amu (illness), DE Calais Campbell (knee) and TE Troy Niklas (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 16. LB Glenn Carson (ankle) was a limited participant in practice, and TE John Carlson (knee), WR John Brown (hamstring) and LB Alex Okafor (quadriceps) were full participants.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer's agent, David Dunn, and the team have opened contract negotiations. "I won't get into specific points of the negotiations but we've had some dialogue with Dave Dunn," Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said. "He (Palmer) has done a great job for us."
Fantasy Tip: Palmer tossed two touchdowns last week in his first start since returning from a nerve injury in his shoulder, and with a matchup against the winless Oakland Raiders on tap in Week 7, he is worth considering at FantasyScore. He will take up 14.6% of the cap ($7,300).

Fantasy Tip: Palmer apparently made it through his Week 6 return last week with no setbacks, but check back Friday just to make sure he is still on target to play again in Week 7. At just $7,300 or 14.6 percent of the cap in FantasyScore, he is a decent mid-level option.

Fantasy Tip: Check back later in the week. If he goes through a full practice by Friday, he should be good to go for Week 7 and FantasyScore owners. If he is listed as questionable or worse for this weekend, avoid him and his $6,600 salary, which is 13.2 percent of the cap.
