Updating previous reports, Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) doesn't have a timetable for his return from a nerve injury in his shoulder, according to general manager John Keim, and he'll be listed as day-to-day for now.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds almost certain that he won't be able to play in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, but you can't rule it out until Sunday. Play it safe and avoid him at FantasyScore this week.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) continues to seek treatment for a nerve injury in his right shoulder Monday, Sept. 15, and head coach Bruce Arians is concerned that Palmer's injury could lead to long-term damage. Palmer's status for Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers is undecided. Arians said Palmer could suit up against the Niners even if he doesn't practice all week.
Fantasy Tip: Drew Stanton will start again if Palmer can't go against San Fran. At less than 100 percent against the Niners, we wouldn't recommend paying for Palmer at FantasyScore.

Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington's status is still unknown even after the NFL and NFL Players Association recently agreed to a new drug policy. Washington has been suspended for the entire season following a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Washington has also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault against the mother of his child.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) said he wasn't close to playing in Week 2 against the New York Giants. He described his injury as a nerve in his right shoulder that is in deep sleep. Palmer suffered the injury in Week 1 when he went down on a running play, and he's not sure when he'll be able to return. "They said my shoulder was stretched out and I landed on the nerve, shut the nerve down," Palmer said. "It's just one of those things you've just go to wait and hope it wakes up. There's no, 'it needs 48 hours. It needs six days, it needs 12 days. You just don't know." QB Drew Stanton went 14-for-29 for 167 yards in his absence.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Palmer will be questionable to play again in Week 3. Keep tabs on his practice status, but be fully prepared to be without him again.

Arizona Cardinals FS Tyrann Mathieu (knee) played for the first time in Week 2 against the New York Giants since suffering two torn knee ligaments last December. He was used in limited packages against the Giants when the team used seven defensive backs. Mathieu finished the game with one tackle.

Arizona Cardinals LB John Abraham (concussion) will not make a decision on retirement until the weekend has come to a conclusion. If he does not return to the team by Tuesday, Sept. 16, he is ineligible for the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Ellington has been a bit of an injury concern over the first two weeks, but he looked pretty good in the road win despite his bum wheel. If you're an Ellington owner in weekly fantasy, it's a good idea to have Jonathan Dwyer on your roster just in case. FantasyScore owners can trust Ellington in Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: It's unknown if he will be limited, though. With QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) out, it's possible that Ellington and Jonathan Dwyer could receive more carries. Ellington is a solid RB2 at $5,500 (11% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week. Dwyer is more of a speculative flex play at $4,400 (8.8%) in Week 2, but he receives a boost in fantasy with Palmer out.

Fantasy Tip: Palmer could be a week-to-week situation. Stanton doesn't have fantasy value at this time. However, he could serve as a bye-week fill-in if Palmer misses considerable time.

Fantasy Tip: Fitz is still priced fairly high at $6,500 (13% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week coming off of a low-target performance. He has a chance to produce up to that level, but you're taking a risk with him at that value.

Fantasy Tip: The offense may rely on RB Andre Ellington (foot) more this week, provided that he plays. Ellington is a solid RB2 at $5,500 (11% of your cap) on FantasyScore this week.

Fantasy Tip: Palmer is $6,800 (13.6% of your cap) on FantasyScore, but there are better risks with higher ceilings in his tier.
