New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five batters over 5 2/3 innings to earn his 11th win of the season during the Yankees' 13-6 victory over the Chicago White Sox Friday, July 31.
Fantasy Tip: Eovaldi ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) is a great target for owners chasing wins. His current 4.30 ERA has room for improvement based on his 3.52 FIP, however, his lack of strikeouts (6.5 K/9) and WHIP (1.49) won't do owners any favors. Still, he has limited the damage over his past eight outings and sports a 6-0 record with a 3.06 ERA. He warrants attention.

Fantasy Tip: It could be argued Teixeira ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has been the biggest surprise of the 2015 fantasy season. He has 28 home runs and leads the American League in RBI with 78. Perhaps, best of all, though, is he hasn't been a batting average anchor with a. 269 mark for the year. Outside of daunting matchups, he is worth considering at FantasyScore nightly.

New York Yankees SP Luis Severino will not be on an innings limit, according to general manager Brian Cashman. He has thrown 99 innings in the minors this season and threw 113 frames last year, excluding instructional league and winter ball action.
Fantasy Tip: Severino, the organization's top pitching prospect, is expected to make his major league debut against the Boston Red Sox next week. Owners in AL-only, deep mixed and dynasty fantasy leagues should consider adding him to their rosters.

New York Yankees OF Brett Gardner, C Brian McCann and 2B Stephen Drew are all out of the lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon Friday, July 31. OF Chris Young is starting in right field and hitting second, C J.R. Murphy is behind the plate and hitting seventh and SS Brendan Ryan is at second base and hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: The only one worth considering at FantasyScore is really Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap), who excels against lefties. He's in a prime lineup spot to capitalize and return great profit for his daily owners, too. Murphy ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) and Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) are strictly desperation sources of salary cap relief.

New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia (dehydration) will remain in the starting rotation with SP Luis Severino coming up from the minors to join the rotation, according to manager Joe Girardi. Severino is expected to make his major league debut against the Boston Red Sox early next week.
Fantasy Tip: The way Sabathia ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has been pitching this year, he's not even very attractive to owners in deep mixed leagues. He's allowed the most home runs in the American League this year. Severino, the Yanks top pitching prospect, is an acceptable replacement, and he's even intriguing at FantasyScore for his debut against Boston next week at what's likely to be a very affordable FantasyScore price.

Fantasy Tip: The top prospect owns a a 1.91 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a 7.3 K/9 through 61 1/3 innings over 11 starts with Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. Severino is worth grabbing in deep mixed leagues. Keep an eye out for an official announcement on when he'll debut with the Yankees, but Severino could perform nicely in pinstripes.

New York Yankees SS Jorge Mateo was available to the San Diego Padres in a package for RP Craig Kimbrel, according to a source. However, a deal for Kimbrel appears to be a no-go, and the Yankees expect the Padres to send him somewhere else now.
Fantasy Tip: Marte is the Yankees top infield prospect, and they hold him in high regard, which shows how badly they wanted to land Kimbrel. As of now, that deal and talks appear to be off. Andrew Miller may be safe from losing much of his fantasy value after all.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 12:09:23 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kennedy, Benoit or Kimbrel could all still be dealt in separate deals, but the Yankees have their sights set high while trying to upgrade an already stellar bullpen. Stay tuned as the trade deadline approaches.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 11:32:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Yankees designated Jones for assignment Friday, so Ackley ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) will take his roster spot. Ackley was hitting just .215 with six home runs and 19 RBI with the Seattle Mariners, so he won't be high up on anyone's fantasy wish list. However, he is more versatile than Jones and could see significant playing time at second base if Stephen Drew continues to struggle. He'll remain nothing more than a desperation sleeper play on FantasyScore, though.

The New York Yankees' talks for San Diego Padres RP Craig Kimbrel broke down Thursday, July 30, and they have not revived Friday, July 31. The Yankees see Miami Marlins RP Carter Capps as another option.
Fantasy Tip: The Yankees desperately want to bolster what has already been a lights-out bullpen this year with Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller fortifying the back end. If Kimbrel is acquired, Miller will lose a lot of his value. If Capps comes in, expect him to set up in some capacity.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 08:43:29 -0700
San Diego Padres RP Craig Kimbrel is of interest to the New York Yankees, and they are willing to pay all of the $28 million remaining on his contract through the 2017 season. However, it isn't known what the Yankees are willing to offer in terms of players, and they declined to give up SS prospect Jorge Mateo.
Fantasy Tip: Kimbrel will remain an elite fantasy closing option, regardless of if he stays in San Diego or not. Andrew Miller would lose significant fantasy value if Kimbrel comes on board to take the Yankees' ninth-inning duties. Expect either Joaquin Benoit or Brandon Maurer to jump into the closing role if Kimbrel leaves San Diego.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 08:02:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chapman's fantasy value as an elite closing option will not change if he leaves Cincy. If he joins the Yankees, that'll lessen the value of Andrew Miller, since he'd be moved to a setup role. Stash J.J. Hoover, the expected closer for the Reds if Chapman leaves town.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:30:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Capps has been excellent this year with a 1.21 WHIP and a ridiculous 17.0 K/9 rate for the Marlins in a setup role. If he's traded, he'll likely continue to serve in some sort of setup role with the Yankees. His fantasy value is limited without saves, but he's still of use to owners in deeper leagues because of his dominance.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:24:24 -0700
New York Yankees SPs Adam Warren, Luis Severino and Bryan Mitchell are unlikely to be used to fill in in the starting rotation with SP Michael Pineda (forearm) sidelined. The Yankees continue to monitor the starting pitcher market as the trade deadline approaches.
Fantasy Tip: Severino, the club's top minor league pitching prospect, easily has the most upside of this trio and should already be stashed in dynasty and keeper leagues. If he does come up and enter the rotation for the Yanks, he'll surely be popular on the waiver wire in the rest of traditional leagues.
Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:12:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Severino may be the closest to a big-league call-up, especially with injuries decimating the Yankees rotation. All three are candidates to be owned in dynasty and keeper leagues right now, and you may want to consider stashing them in AL-only leagues, too.
