Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for the Yanks, it looks like one of their top overall prospects will be out for a while. Sanchez set a career high in home runs in the minors last year and is poised to be New York's catcher of the future with elite and raw power at the plate. You'll need to temper your expectations if you were already stashing him in dynasty leagues, as he may not be a realistic option in the bigs leagues again until 2017.

Fantasy Tip: This would be a big blow to the Yankees' organizational depth at catcher. Sanchez was hitting .290 with six home runs and 26 RBI for Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year and is New York's catcher of the future. He has plus power that will play nicely in the Bronx. Keep tabs on him in keeper/dynasty formats, and he's worth stashing in those leagues unless his injury turns out to sideline him for a long chunk of time.

Fantasy Tip: Tex's neck problems combined with his ugly .195/.294/.282 slash line and three home runs mean he probably should be dumped to the waiver wire in most mixed leagues. If you're forced to hang on, keep him benched until he's healthy enough to return or shows signs of life. Dustin Ackley is the main backup at first base and could gain significant value in cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues as corner infield depth if Teixeira is forced to go on the DL.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez is worth owning in the majority of seasonal leagues, and he did hit 33 home runs last season, but you'll want to keep your expectations in check with the 40-year-old veteran. It might be best to take a wait-and-see approach since he posted an underwhelming .194/.275/.444 slash line through 80 plate appearances before the injury.

New York Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (neck) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 25, and manager Joe Girardi said there is no timetable for Teixeira's return, but that the first baseman will visit with the team doctor Wednesday. 2B Dustin Ackley is starting at first base and batting sixth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Teixeira is off to a miserable start to 2016 with just three home runs and a .195/.294/.282 slash line. It isn't out of the question to move on from the 36-year-old veteran in most mixed leagues given his lengthy injury history. View Ackley as a low-priced flier in daily contests Wednesday.
Wed, 25 May 2016 12:55:29 -0700
Toronto Blue Jays SS Troy Tulowitzki (quadriceps) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, May 25. 2B Ryan Goins is starting at shortstop and batting ninth against New York Yankees SP Ivan Nova Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Tulowitzki exited the game with a quadriceps injury Tuesday, May 24, so this might just be a precautionary day off, but you'll want to check back for updates. With Devon Travis back in the mix, Goins will return to a bench role, which limits his fantasy value to daily contests, and he is nothing more than a low-priced flier Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Travis should be owned in all seasonal leagues, after he posted a .304/.361/.498 slash line through 238 plate appearances last season. He could find himself hitting higher up in the lineup at some point, but for now, fantasy owners should just be happy he is healthy and back with the big club. Don't shy away from inserting Travis into your starting lineups immediately.

New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi pitched six scoreless innings against the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday, May 24, to pick up his fifth win of the season. He allowed two hits during the game, while striking out five batters and walking three.
Fantasy Tip: Eovaldi has pitched well recently and has allowed only six runs over his last four starts. He is scheduled to face the Tampa Bay Rays in his next start and should be a decent starting option in most fantasy leagues.
Tue, 24 May 2016 20:42:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Beltran has been on a hot streak recently with 11 hits and 10 RBI over his last six games. Beltran will continue to be an everyday player for the Yankees and should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.
Tue, 24 May 2016 12:36:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Romine isn't a very attractive catching option in daily leagues, especially hitting at the very bottom of the batting order. He's hitting .250 and has no home runs and three RBI in 40 at-bats as the Yankees backup catcher.
Tue, 24 May 2016 08:11:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It could only be a couple of games before he's ready to return. He was struggling before he got hurt so give him a couple of days upon returning before putting him into lineups.
Sun, 22 May 2016 17:44:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Teixeira has just one hit in his last 21 at-bats, and he is hitting .193 for the year. Even if he isn't injured, he is tough to justify owning outside of AL-only formats.
Sun, 22 May 2016 17:36:22 -0700
New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda won for the first time since his first start of the year, allowing three runs on six hits while walking one and striking out six over six innings against the Oakland Athletics Sunday, May 22.
Fantasy Tip: Consistency has been a major issue for Pineda, but his stuff is excellent, and he has 56 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings. He is worth owning in mixed leagues, but you need to pick and choose when you start him.
Sun, 22 May 2016 17:26:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Severino's first full season has been a rough one, but after the upside he showed last year, he is worth stashing to see if he can return to form.
Sat, 21 May 2016 16:24:50 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tanaka is 2-0 with a 3.24 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP and an 8.07 K/9. It's a pretty decent line, but it was just his second start this season in which he allowed one or fewer earned runs. He's a decent SP2 in fantasy but not much more. He's worth consideration in most matchups.
