New York Yankees 2B Jose Pirela is making his season debut at second base and is hitting ninth in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle Wednesday, May 6. SS Didi Gregorius is not in the lineup, while SS Stephen Drew shifts over to shortstop.
Fantasy Tip: Pirela ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) had eight hits in 24 at-bats (.333) in seven games last year. He could eventually take more starts away from Drew at second base if the veteran continues to struggle. Look to add Pirela for help in AL-only leagues. Pirela can save you plenty of loot at FantasyScore tonight against a struggling pitcher, but he's merely a shot in the dark.

Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should be a serious consideration for FantasyScore lineups this evening, as he's hitting .440 (11-for-25) with three of his six home runs against left-handers this year, and Buehrle has had trouble retiring right-handers in 2015.
Wed, 06 May 2015 14:19:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chris Young ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is a great value play tonight against Toronto Blue Jays starter Mark Buehrle, who has struggled against right-handed hitters this year. Young is hitting .440 (11-for-25) with three of his six home runs and a 1.548 OPS against southpaws this season.
Wed, 06 May 2015 12:22:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is hot to the touch right now and makes for an excellent FantasyScore play while he's on this hitting streak. He's also 9-for-36 (.250) in his career against Toronto Blue Jays starter Mark Buehrle with one home run. Ignore the lefty matchup while Ellsbury is scorching hot.

Fantasy Tip: Beltran ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitting only .193 (16-for-83) with no home runs and nine RBI this year, though. Even more disturbing: He's 3-for-22 (.136) against left-handers while batting from the right side. That tells you you should probably avoid him against Buehrle tonight.

New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia is 4-0 with a 3.00 ERA in five starts at the Toronto Blue Jays since joining the Yankees in 2009, and he's 7-1 with a 2.95 ERA in nine outings in Toronto in his career and 15-5 with a 3.25 ERA in 21 total matchups against them. However, he's 0-4 with a 5.40 ERA in five starts this year, and he finished 2014 by going 0-2 with a 6.43 ERA in his final three starts.
Fantasy Tip: As bad as Sabathia ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has been going with decreased velocity this year, you'd have to be pretty crazy and in a gambling mood to select him for your FantasyScore roster today against Toronto.

New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda his career high with eight scoreless innings Tuesday, May 5, against the Toronto Blue Jays. He allowed just five hits while striking out six, capturing a win for the fourth consecutive road start.
Fantasy Tip: Pineda ($6,700; 13.4% of cap) has emerged as a strong FantasyScore option, and he might just be the very best pitcher on the New York staff.

New York Yankees 2B Jose Pirela will be activated for the game Wednesday, May 6, against the Toronto Blue Jays. Manager Joe Girardi said he will take things day-by-day regarding choosing starters between Pirela, incumbent 2B Stephen Drew and SS Didi Gregorius.
Fantasy Tip: Pirela ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) was hitting .579 through 20 at bats for Class AAA, with one home run and zero strikeouts. With Drew and Gregorius both struggling, Pirela could make a strong case for playing time if he's able to get off to a quick start at the major league level. Owners in deep leagues or AL-only leagues can go ahead and scoop up Pirela, while moderate-sized, mixed league owners should keep a watchful eyes on the Yankees' daily lineups.
Tue, 05 May 2015 15:58:50 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McCann ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) had an off day Monday, May 4, but remains second on the team with 15 RBI. McCann makes for an excellent option behind the plate as he goes up against Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada.
Tue, 05 May 2015 15:56:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Drew ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) will make for an excellent GPP option as he goes up against Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada, who went 7-6 with a 4.96 ERA for the Milwaukee Brewers last season. Estrada has allowed just one home run in 10 and two-thirds innings pitched, but is one year removed from allowing a major league-worst 29.
Tue, 05 May 2015 14:33:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Teixeira ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) surely hasn't lacked power in the early going, hitting nine home runs and driving in 20 already. But he's hitting only .202 and isn't of much use to FantasyScore owners if he doesn't go deep. He could go big fly again tonight against Toronto Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada, who is making his first start after being moved out of the bullpen.
Tue, 05 May 2015 14:14:40 -0700
New York Yankees 3B Chase Headley is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 5. SS Gregorio Petit is starting at the hot corner and hitting ninth in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada.
Fantasy Tip: Petit ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has just six hits in 31 at-bats (.194) in backup duty for the Yanks this year, and this light-hitting utility infielder should be ignored everywhere.
Mon, 04 May 2015 13:19:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Drew ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has continued his poor offensive showing from last year, hitting just .155 (11-for-71) with four home runs and 10 RBI. Most FantasyScore gamers won't be on Drew's scent tonight, but he could come in handy as a nice value play against Dickey, who Drew is 6-for-18 against in his career with one RBI.
Mon, 04 May 2015 13:15:01 -0700
New York Yankees C Brian McCann is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 4. C J.R. Murphy is starting behind the plate and hitting eighth in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey.
Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) has five hits in 19 at-bats this season with one RBI. Ryan is purely a deep sleeper for a cheap price at FantasyScore. He'll help save valuable bucks at other positions, however.
Mon, 04 May 2015 13:12:47 -0700
New York Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 4. 1B Garrett Jones is starting at first base and hitting seventh in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey.
Fantasy Tip: Although Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has struggled in limited duty this year (.167-0-0), he does hit right-handers much better and is 6-for-16 (.375) with an RBI in his career against Dickey. Consider Jones an acceptable under-the-radar value play at FantasyScore this evening.
