Fantasy Tip: Give Beltran at least one more game to get his sea legs and build up his stamina before taking a chance on his in FantasyScore at $2,800 (or 5.6% of cap).

Fantasy Tip: Beltran ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is off to a slow start (7-for-38), and opposing starter Alfredo Simon is crafty. Still, at Beltran's price point, he is worth consideration as a low-priced flier for daily contests.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of lineup) is hitting .286 (14-for-49) with no home runs and no RBI to begin the season, and he has two stolen bases. In his limited experience against Detroit Tigers starter Alfredo Simon, Ellsbury is 4-for-9 with a double and a triple, and he should be considered a strong play at FantasyScore, even if Simon has pitched well to begin the season.

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez currently leads the team in on-base percentage (.429), slugging percentage (.714), home runs (four) and RBI (11). He is two homers shy of tying former OF Willie Mays for fourth on the all-time home run list. Rodriguez currently has 658 career home runs.
Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has effectively silenced his critics and doubters, at least to start 2015. He's healthy and has the bat speed to hit for serious pop this year. He should be owned in all fantasy leagues, and he should be a daily consideration at FantasyScore, at least while he's hot at the plate.

New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia is 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA in his two starts this season, and it marks the first time in his 15-year career that he's lost each of his first two starts of a season. However, he's third in the league with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 15 to one. But Sabathia's velocity continues to drop since 2009; he averaged 93.9 mph in 2009 and is averaging just 88.2 mph on his fastball in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Sabathia's ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) should really come as no surprise to fantasy owners, and his injuries haven't helped matters. He should be left to the waiver wire in shallow mixed leagues, and he should certainly be avoided at FantasyScore against the Detroit Tigers this week.

Fantasy Tip: Beltran ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) was starting to show some signs of life at the plate prior to falling ill, but he is still hitting just .184 on the year with a pitiful .289 slugging percentage. He isn't worth starting at FantasyScore right now.

Fantasy Tip: McCann ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) likely is just receiving a day off and will play in the next game. Murphy ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has gone 3-for-10 with two doubles in 2015 and could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 08:43:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is off to a slow start in 2015 with only two hits in 14 at-bats this season. Owners on FantasyScore likely will be able to find better options to use.
Sun, 19 Apr 2015 08:41:20 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Beltran ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) probably will be able to return a few days once he is over his illness. Garrett Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is starting in his place but not be a great option on FantasyScore since he has gone 2-for-14 this season.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 20:06:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Tanaka ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) struggled with his control in his first two outings, but he looked like an ace-caliber pitcher Saturday. That being said, it may be best to wait until Tanaka has another strong outing under his belt before paying his hefty salary at FantasyScore.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 14:28:44 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chris Young ($2,200, 4.4% of your cap) has had a solid start to the season with a .292-2-4 line in 24 at-bats. He's a late plug-and-play option on FantasyScore, but he's facing a hot starter in Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi.
Fri, 17 Apr 2015 18:20:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) was a bit of an unknown heading into the season after being suspended last year, but he already has four home runs and is off to a strong start. Whether his body holds up remains to be seen, but for now, he is a steal at FantasyScore.
Fri, 17 Apr 2015 13:56:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gardner ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) hasn't played since Monday with a bruised wrist. It'd probably be a smart move to avoid Gardner for the rest of the weekend to let him recover from his wrist ailment. He'd also be facing a hot pitcher in Jake Odorizzi from the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow, if he returns.

New York Yankees OF Brett Gardner (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup Friday, April 17. OF Chris Young is starting in left field in his place yet again and hitting eighth in the batting order against Tampa Bay Rays SP Nathan Karns.
Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has two home runs and a .318 average (7-for-22) to start the season. He's typically an all-or-nothing type of player with plenty of power, but he's a dice roll at FantasyScore, especially hitting at the bottom of the lineup.
Thu, 16 Apr 2015 11:57:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gardner ($3,000, 6.6% of cap) could return to the team's lineup Friday evening after an off day Thursday. Check to make sure he's in there before running with him at FantasyScore, though. If he's starting, he'd be facing Tampa Bay Rays starter Nathan Karns, which is a good matchup.
