New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia is not going to be removed from the starting rotation, according to general manager Brian Cashman. Sabathia lost again to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, June 29, and is 3-8 with a 5.59 ERA on the season. His 1.40 WHIP puts him 83rd among 99 qualified starting pitchers. The 19 home runs he's given up in 15 starts is tops in the American League and second in all of baseball. Sabathia has allowed nine home runs in his last five starts. He has only one win in the last six weeks, and he's allowed 27 hits and 17 earned runs in 23 innings since.
Fantasy Tip: Based on Sabathia's ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) performance this year, he's not worth rostering in shallow mixed leagues, and you should shy away from him on FantasyScore for the time being. At age 34, his velocity and skills are quickly declining, and it's unlikely we'll see a return to his previous dominant form ever again.

Fantasy Tip: Eovadi ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has a 4.81 ERA and isn't much of an option on FantasyScore right now.
Mon, 29 Jun 2015 22:51:42 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) might return Friday, but FantasyScore players should avoid him in all leagues until he can officially return and prove his health in at least one full game without any setbacks.
Mon, 29 Jun 2015 16:31:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jose Pirela ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) will start at second base in place of Drew. Pirela has only two hits in his last six games and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should be returned to all traditional lineups when he's back from the DL. However, you might want to play it safe with him initially on FantasyScore until he gets his legs back underneath him. Chris Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) will lose valuable playing time when Ellsbury returns and will basically return to his role as the fourth outfielder and go back to mainly starting against lefties. He can still be very useful as a sleeper pick against certain lefties, as he has mashed southpaws this season.

New York Yankees C Brian McCann is not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP C.J. Wilson Monday, June 29. C J.R. Murphy will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: McCann ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Murphy ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is hitting .333 this month, but owners should be able to find a better option to use.

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) will likely begin a rehab assignment with Class A Tampa Monday, June 29. He ran the bases effectively over the weekend and will begin playing in games if his knee responds well.
Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is a midrange OF option on FantasyScore when he returns.
Sun, 28 Jun 2015 15:53:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has a .272-10-25 line following Sunday's game, one home run off his 2014 total. He's finding regular playing time so that helps his FantasyScore value.
Sun, 28 Jun 2015 08:52:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Beltran ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off Sunday. Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has posted solid numbers this month with a .250 batting average, three home runs and nine RBI. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Jones as a cheaper option if they are looking to save some money.
Sat, 27 Jun 2015 17:49:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McCann ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has been on a bit of an RBI binge lately, notching nine in his last seven games. He is now fifth in the AL with 49 RBI for the year, and he is one of the better catching options at FantasyScore, especially when he is facing a right-handed pitcher.
Sat, 27 Jun 2015 12:04:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) was given the day off yesterday despite hitting .409 with two home runs and nine RBIs over the past week. He is batting .307 during the month of June and is a bargain in FantasyScore given how well he's played this season.
Sat, 27 Jun 2015 11:55:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Pirela ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is batting .263 this month but is just 2-for-12 over the past week. He should be avoided in FantasyScore unless you're desperate for salary cap relief.
Fri, 26 Jun 2015 16:43:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Beltran ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is a sneaky value play as he's heating up on FantasyScore. You're better off starting him against certain right-handed pitchers, though, as five of his seven home runs have come against righties this year. He also is more attractive at home in the Bronx when he can take advantage of the short porch in right field.
Fri, 26 Jun 2015 15:55:50 -0700
New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 26. OF Carlos Beltran is serving as the designated hitter against Houston Astros SP Vincent Velasquez, which allows 1B Garrett Jones to start in right field. Jones is hitting sixth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) isn't a terrible daily play tonight against Velasquez. After all, Jones has three of his four home runs against right-handed pitchers, and he' much more attractive at FantasyScore as a sleeper pick when playing games in the Bronx with a short porch in right field.
Fri, 26 Jun 2015 15:42:30 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chris Young ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) will continue to see most of the starts in the outfield with Ellsbury sidelined. Only consider Young a FantasyScore option against southpaws, though, as he has a line of .379/.438/.682 against lefties in 2015.
