Fantasy Tip: Mitchell won't be available to use on FantasyScore. It's a good opportunity to stack Rangers hitters in your daily lineups tonight.

Fantasy Tip: This doesn't mean that Pineda ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) won't miss considerable time or avoid a trip to the DL. Stay tuned and sit tight if you own him. Bryan Mitchell will be called up to start against the Texas Rangers tonight. He won't be available on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Pineda ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) from your FantasyScore lineups tonight if you had him in there. It's unclear how serious his injury is, so stay tuned for more updates. If it's an extended absence for Pineda, the Yanks could call on top pitching prospect Luis Severino. Severino should be owned in dynasty and keeper formats, and he'd be appealing to those in deeper mixed leagues if he joins the rotation.

Fantasy Tip: This could be very troubling news for the Yankees if the injuries to Pineda ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) and Nova ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) turn out to cost them significant time. Keep an eye out for updated information on them. Could the Yankees call up top pitching prospect Luis Severino to take a rotation spot? Those in dynasty and keeper leagues should stash him now.

Fantasy Tip: Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) does have four of his five home runs this year against right-handed pitchers, but he's not typically a very strong option for daily gamers unless he's at home hitting in the Bronx with the short porch in right field. Texas is a hitter-friendly environment, too, but Jones should still be seen as a sleeper pick on FantasyScore.

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is now firmly on the trade block as the Tigers informed teams that they will be sellers at the deadline Wednesday, July 29. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs are also looking to upgrade their rotations and figure to be interested in Price. The Yankees have insisted that they won't give up OF Aaron Judge, 1B Greg Bird, SS Jorge Mateo or SP Luis Severino, though.
Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) will be a free agent after this year, so there's a very good chance he'll be dealt before Friday. A move to New York, or any other team, wouldn't drastically affect his fantasy value as a top-tier starter.

New York Yankees SP Chris Capuano allowed five runs and five walks while retiring just two batters in his start Tuesday, July 28, against the Texas Rangers. He is the first starter to allow at least five runs and walk five batters while lasting less than an inning since former Atlanta Braves SP Jaret Wright in 2004.
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players who rolled the dice on Capuano ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) are certainly displeased. Yet again, it shows that it pays not to skimp on pitching, as it makes or breaks you most days in DFS.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:47:30 -0700
New York Yankees SS Brendan Ryan is starting at second base for the second straight day and is hitting ninth against Texas Rangers left-handed SP Martin Perez. 2B Stephen Drew is out for the second straight day.
Fantasy Tip: It appears as if Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) may be entering into a platoon with Drew at the keystone, with Ryan facing southpaws. Ryan provides little offensive help to his fantasy owners, and a spot at the bottom of the lineup doesn't make him attractive at all to daily gamers.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:43:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is hitting .271 (23-for-85) but has only one home run and eight RBI and has limited offensive upside. He's mainly a source of salary cap relief for the desperate at FantasyScore.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:41:12 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Young ($3,000, 6.0% of cap), who sports a triple slash line of .362/.413/.670 with six of his 11 home runs against left-handers, should always be in play as a FantasyScore value play when he's in the lineup against a lefty.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:34:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) doesn't hit as well against lefties (.247/.326/.312) with one of his three home runs, but he still remains an attractive daily option in the leadoff position. Play him at your own risk tonight against the southpaw Perez.

New York Yankees SP Chris Capuano is making the start against the Texas Rangers Tuesday, July 28, in order to give extra rest to SPs Masahiro Tanaka and Michael Pineda. It will be Capuano's first start since May 29. He's 0-4 with a 5.64 ERA this year. He was 0-3 with a 6.39 ERA in three May starts before moving to the bullpen.
Fantasy Tip: Given Capuano's ineffectiveness as a starter for the Yankees this year, you should avoid him everywhere in this spot start.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 13:34:01 -0700
New York Yankees SS Didi Gregorius went 3-for-4 with a home run and a career-high four RBI against the Texas Rangers Monday, July 27, and he is 11-for-31 with four home runs and 11 RBI against the Rangers in his career.
Fantasy Tip: Don't overlook the fact that Gregorius ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is hitting only .248 (76-for-306) with five home runs and 25 RBI on the season. He's batting just .203 (16-for-79) with one of his five homers against lefties this year, too, so consider him a weak play tonight against a southpaw.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 13:31:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) continues his fine season after sitting out all of 2014. A-Rod has a 1.030 OPS with nine of his 24 home runs against left-handers this year, making him a fine pick on FantasyScore tonight against Texas Rangers lefty Martin Perez.

San Diego Padres RP Craig Kimbrel has come up in trade talks with the New York Yankees. The Yankees have no intentions of trading SP Luis Severino, OF Aaron Judge, 1B Greg Bird or SS Jorge Mateo in any trades. A person familiar with the Padres' thinking believes the Yankees would have to change that stance for any deal to happen.
Fantasy Tip: The Yanks already have a lights-out bullpen, so this trade would be a bit peculiar. If Kimbrel lands with the Yanks, he'd be expected to close for them, basically ruining much of Andrew Miller's fantasy value. In San Diego, either Joaquin Benoit or Brandon Maurer could be used in the ninth inning for saves.
